I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. Never ceases to amaze me how many big bedding females I catch in the spring while using crappie gear for panfishing. They’ll absolutely destroy a baby shad or hair jig.

Great information, and I agree. I have a box full of them. Also, hair jigs made from deer tail hair. They are a Potomac River and Susquehanna River favorite for smallmouth.

The 1/4 keitech football brown and purple is my all time favorite. That's an awesome jig with a sticky sharp hook

Man this is right up my alley. I know just a few short months ago I sent a comment about how I wish I could catch fish on a jig and it just didn't seem to work for me. So now I am a full-blown jig fiend! Got another half-dozen today including some half-ounce bitsy flips. And man have I've been having great success with them. That little keitech spin jig and a little trooper sound incredible, and so does that tightrope got to get some
jigs are addicting
I used small jigs all year long, day or night. Bitsy Bugs are great and cost effective, a 1/8th to 1/4 ounce bucktail is my favorite though, hard to find with a strong hook.

I love micro jigs and BFS. Goes together like peas and carrots. Mule Fishing's little Burro Bug makes a good trailer on the little Keitech jig. As does a trimmed down TRD Bugz.

I took the grand kids fishing today in Southern Indiana. And we caught 2 dozen bass and a large crappie on the bronze slammer.

I’ve had a lot of success throwing the keitech spin jig with a mule fishing burro bug. I’ve also used Googan bumpin bug, and the new zman micro goat.

Totally agree on the small baits. The largemouth in the lake I fish in VA are still chasing shad. And I’m still catching quality bass on a 1/4 oz rooster tail and by swimming a 2” jigging spoon (with a larger/feathered treble hook attached).

This morning, a young man on a dock, told me he never caught anything in this lake. I asked him if he had a chrome/white rooster tail in his tacklebox. He did. He tied it on and about five minutes later caught a bass. Made his day.
It's tough getting old isn't it (Lil' Trooper)? Believe me, I know. I first heard about them on your channel. I love them. I've been fishing them all summer and they've been a constant producer. I Texas rig them with a tiny split shot at the hook eye around rip rap or on Berkley half heads in more open areas. Also add them as trailers on the micro jigs. Good stuff.

I've been making my own microjigs. The Keitech football head makes a great platform for making your own. Also the Zman TRD Bug is just the right size for a trailer and the profile can go either way as a small baitfish or craw.

I’ll use the the guard spin on 6 and 8 lb test and the casting jig on 10-15
Matt if you want a great Ned rig try the berkley half head 1/16-1/18oz with zman trd bugz in bama bug color. You recommended the berkley head some time ago and it’s my preferred Ned jig. This combo absolutely crushes smallies including 3-4# here on a Wisconsin river. My daughter and granddaughter boated 100 in 8 hours and probably lost 30 more. Please keep sending me more bass downstream cause I’m just down river from you. I’m happy with Hank’s leftovers 😊

Check out the o.s.p. 05 tugger jig. I tip it with 3" fluke style baits. I'm literally on my way to meet dad for some fall smallie action on the wolf river. The tugger will be on the deck for sure

I’ll second this. All of Beast Coast jigs are legit.
Man on the south end of Toledo Bend water temps are finally in the low 80s and the fish are freaking everywhere from inches of water to 30+ft... it always blows my mind just how scattered they get and how finicky they get when this time of year comes around.
makes for tough fishing
I use Spawn slotted tungsten football shaped beads on any variety of small jig hooks. These are very heavy for slotted beads and come in a wide array of colors. No plastic for me. A zonker strip and round rubber legs. The rabbit hide of the zonker strip holds scent (gulp, max, etc). Tie up your own and you’ll stop the endless search for commercial jig heads.

Matt. I have downsized my baits to this small kietech jig, the hover rig, and a wieghtless , nosed hook Roboworm Sculpin. Now, I am getting strikes from monster bas. The challenge is reeling them in. They thrash and I keep losing them on a medium light, fast action spinning reel. Anu suggestions from you or the audience?❤ thanks

Depends on water clarity. Usually 10 lb on average
