    Just wondering how the threat of moving from a democracy to an autocracy fits in to this discussion.

    Also, even if you are pretty positive your candidate will be in your state, I’d argue you have a responsibility to cast vote for two reasons:
    1. Doing the right thing is important, whether or not the outcome will remain the same without you. Just because the soup kitchen will function without me or the church will meet its goal without my $100 tithe, I’m not absolved of my responsibility to be an active participant in the good. Don’t rely on the participation of others to give yourself a pass to stand on the sideline
    2. While it might not determine the outcome of the election, the popular vote does matter. It has an effect on political trends, solidifies the result in a stronger way if you’re someone who has distrust for the fairness of the election, and generally just makes conclusions we can draw from the election more accurate or at least favorable towards your side. Just vote, it takes an hour or two max

    Father, yes you have to vote. Please be courageous. 🙏🏼 How can we influence our nation without participating? Also, even if you live in a deep red or deep blue state, there are so many local elections that matter even more! We are so blessed to live in a nation where Christians can heavenly influence our nation, we can’t take that for granted. Encourage all to vote for the candidates who are most aligned to our worldview.

    Personally, and professionally retired Catholic. To answer this astoundingly, silly superficial, and NA question to a very high percent of those who actually are Catholic. Yes, you can gladly with free will, and in good conscience vote for whoever you want. And all the better if that person actually is a Christian and doesn’t pretend to be one who doesn’t know the first thing about how to hold and revere a Bible, how to treat others, and do the beatitudes, how to ask God for forgiveness, and how to think of anyone else on this earth besides himself. Amen!

      Ok, leftie ! I have no idea with what heart you can vote for a woman who’s made allowing abortions of any kind her main concern.

    the question is: can a catholic vote for Trump?

    • @tomlabooks3263
      @tomlabooks3263 40 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      How does any of Trump’s policies (including the ones he instated during his Presidency) constitute a sin? Especially one as serious as killing an unborn? I’ll be waiting.

    • @victropolis
      @victropolis 39 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      Of course. He’s the lesser of two evils. Not only are his policies better for the economy, for the border, and to prevent world war three, but on top of all that, the Democrat party is the party that is transing everything and the party that wants abortion up until the moment of birth and to allow babies that survive abortions to die.

    I don't like how people say you throw your vote away by not voting for the two main candidates. The other people are on there for a reason. I have found the constitutional party to be a solid, morally sound party that my well formed conscious is quite good with. I am not throwing away my vote by going with who I believe is the best candidate for our country, our brothers and sisters, and our faith.

      The constitutional party is the party most aligned with Protestantism. The American Solidarity party is the party whose platform is by far most aligned with Catholcism.

    Some good discussion but so round, and round about with crazy examples that I feel most wouldn't watch this long, long discussion. Better if you'd get straight to the points and be specific. This back and forth on both sides of everything seems like like you're trying to be very pc with your answers.

    There is no good candidate and too me there is no lesser evil, evil is evil, so people should believe in freedom rather they choose good or bad, God gave each person free will, the character of each person will affect all the people in this country so you can have all these laws but if the leader does evil things it will affect our society. Father made a statement about lying, cheating and stealing sounds like the republican nominee.

    Wrong question. Can a Catholic vote for Kamala? Yes, according to Faithful Citizenship, there is a possibility of voting morally for her ticket without crossing lines into mortal sin, if you have made a proper and conscientious analysis of your reasons for doing so. Should a Catholic vote for Kamala? Not in a million years.

    • @crazypostalbob
      @crazypostalbob ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's not possible to do an honest informed look into Kamala vs Trump and come to the conclusion it is better to vote for Kamala unless you are in such a state of mortal sin and ignoring reality and folks in the know on these matters that you are committing mortal sin in doing so.

    • @colinwithonel
      @colinwithonel 37 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      @@crazypostalbob Yeah thats the dilemma, the Church cannot take a political position that advocates for one candidate over another. So they tell you to use your research and come to a consicentous judgment. But if your conscience is properly formed I dont see how you could ever pick that awful woman from that awful party for any office in any government in the world, even the HOA you would be crazy to do that.

    Ezekiel 3:17-19, 3 John 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:22 the Bible say if you support people that support sin you are guilty of that sin yourself. Look you guys must tell the truth head on, if it is wrong say it, it's the church job and must point out things that are sin and say if you support people that support them then you are sinning with them. JESUS did not beat around he said sin is sin. Vote your faith vote the Bible. GOD bless all of you. MARANATHA

    Neither POTUS candidate is acceptable to me as a Catholic. So II will vote for no set of electors for President.
    BTW, if you do not like any candidate for a position, you can leave the position BLANK. That is, vote for NOBODY.

      I agree with you that both parties do not represent Catholic views accurately. If you are all for the 7 Corporal Works of Mercy, most of the policies the Democrats want to enact lots of policies, will make you want to vote for that party. Yet when you look at the Abortion issue, it's the Republican party that is in line with our church's teaching. That's the part that makes me so confused.

    • @specialteams28
      @specialteams28 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@JKNat9004regarding the corporal works of mercy, ISIS, communist parties, And other radical atheist organisations almost always engage in the corporal works of mercy for the poor as a method to gain political power. Their goal is to establish a politcal atheist tyranny and they highjack Catholic social teaching to get it. The democrats do the corporal works of mercy (welfare for the poor, open borders illegal immigration, free healthcare) for their own political advantage and even to made it even more sinister, they use other people’s money to fund it.

    Absolutely not! Don't understand the long discussion. Trump all the way! To me he's a St Paul. Not perfect -- but PASSIONATE to bring this country back to God. (And it's not a canonization -- it's an election.) Democratic platform is evil all over the place.
