I have been following your channel for a few years now, but last week when I went to a local farmers market, here in a very small city in the Swiss mountains, to buy some mushrooms, the guy selling them recommended your channel to me if I wanted to see how to cook them😂
I bought blue oyster mushrooms from the farmers market this past weekend, and let me say before I go any further- I don’t like mushrooms, but my husband does. We eat plant based. I’ve been watching your videos for several years now, and I’ve finally gotten the courage to experiment with mushrooms. I made your mushroom recipe today, and I must say, it certainly did not disappoint. My dish looked professional quality and it tasted just as good as it looked. 🤣😂 yes I can attest to the goodness of its taste because it just made me taste it, and after that, I put some in my plate and ate it. My husband was very pleased and really enjoyed it. So, from my heart, Derek, thank you for inspiring me to step outside of my comfort zone and for bringing out the potential in me.

Made this last night with a fat fresh blue oyster we purchased at our local Farmers Market. The grower gives his used substrates away for free so I am able to grown some on my own affordably at home ❤ This recipe is awesome and our dinner was scrumptious. Thank you!

I've had a few kits myself, mostly lion's mane. I'm lucky that I can find nice clusters of oyster mushrooms, locally. I've been making this recipe since the first time I saw it on your channel. The two pan method is the bomb! I like to add a little bourbon whisky to the cast iron pan when searing them. It adds such a lovely flavour, with the addition of some homemade BBQ sauce on the grill. Mmm good!

The Asian stores in my area do not carry as much variety. i've heard about this start-up once that grows this special kind of mushrooms, not the ones in the video, but ones that basically look exactly like cooked chicken breast, even when it's still fresh. way too few of these companies. i hope this business grows, because mushrooms are amazing.
Yes - there are going to thousands of animal husbandry farms looking to be converted into organic produce farms VERY soon - research Precision Fermentation and a guy named Tony Seba who predicts the END of the Cow - in other words animal husbandry - by the end of 2027 - he's been making outrageous predictions since 2010 and somehow all of his predictions have come true - vegans will rule by 2030 and some notable countries have already passed legislation banning the killing of any animal - lots happening behind the scenes....
Thanks mate! This has given me such an inspiration. My sister in law is vegan and is coming to visit us next year. This would be a great gourmet vegan dish (except that I would substitute butter with a vegan version and make sure there are no animal products in the BBQ rub). Been plant-based for years and couldn't eat mushrooms because of the texture. A few years ago I made oyster mushroom steaks using your press method and my mind was blown!! I ate these steaks every day for 7 days straight, lol! I'm so lucky to live in the PNW where mushrooms abound. My favorites now are Maitake. You're doing God's work!
So pumped about the growth potential for cultivated mushrooms. We need to start a network of potential growers and investors (including small!) in all corners of every country. My hometown of Baltimore Maryland (as in, the city proper, within city limits) has at least one grower operating from an urban warehouse. We can do this almost everywhere!
OMG I am so addicted to your videos. I happened across one on Saturday (yes 3 days ago) and I think I’m 12 videos in. My husband and I went to the local farmers main Sunday and found a mushroom grower and night a few different types. I attempted to replicate this recipe and it was so good! OMG I am so addicted to your videos. I happened across one on Saturday (yes 3 days ago) and I think I’m 12 videos in. My husband and I went to the local farmers main Sunday and found a mushroom grower and night a few different types. I attempted to replicate this recipe and it was so good! Oh yeah I need to mention I hate mushrooms, well I thought I did. I’ve been a vegan for about 4 years and am so excited to try as many of your recipes as possible…even the mushroom ones.
