Paula had that 2/3 year reign where she was putting hit after hit. After dancing in Southern California for years for the Los Angeles Lakers she stepped into the music scene and deff grabbed 1988-1990 by the balls
That kid off the top sucks. I don't care if they are now a millionaire hedge fund person. Show some life, geez. Edit: black cat is great with the tap dancing.

Observe 1:12. That is the sexualization of children. The past may have felt like a friendlier time, but Hollywood was still pushing their evil ways onto the incredulous masses through sight and sound. Listen to Paula's buddy, Janet Jackson, sing her song "All for You". Read the lyrics of that song and look at the album cover and tell me those were "lighter" times.
Me too! I got married in November of 1989, so that year was just having fun, being young, and being in love. Luckily, we knew to savor that special time.
I was 17 held her in my arms and we listened to this. Now i am 50 and still holding her and this is playing, 3 kids, 27 years married, and this is the soundtrack of my life.
We had SOOO much fun in the 80's ! Man, I feel sorry for the kids these days, they will never know the energy and fun that we had ! Music was FUN and the clubs were an experience !
After listening to this song WAY over 1000 times LITTERALLY! I just got the part, "when the mountains crumble into the sea...", I never even noticed it.
Yes, the 80s were a great decade music wise. I was in my late teens and 20s through the decade. I spent a lot of Friday and Saturday evenings, and some Thursdays, too, at Appleton, Wis.-area dance clubs. My favorite was Skyline Video Nightclub as one could watch all those great music videos as well as the folks dancing. They just do not make music like the great stuff of the 80s anymore. Most of the performers are either dormant, retired or dead (Whitney Houston comes to mind). In summer 1989 I landed a job as an overnight announcer on a Top-40 radio station in Platteville, Wis. where I was attending college. It was cool getting paid to play the great tracks of the day.
Her tapdancing to the part of "girl you know i love you" was so on point, it's beyond insane. Skills, beauty, and moves to match or be desired, what more do you want or need? Born in 78, so this 80-90's genre was a blessing to be a part of and grow up in. 46 now and still one of my favorite songs, yes I'm a female, but she had me mesmerized!!
I had this cassette, I was probably 10 years old. I still really enjoy this album and I’m 42 now. The song, the melody, the beats are all so pleasing to the ears.
When vibing there’s no real fighting. Even if it’s a vulgar song. It’s just the energy feel at the moment. Like I listen to this to balance my overall happy vibes. Gangsta rap for adrenaline, reminiscent of hardships but mostly to exercise or for energy. R&B, NeoSoul for heart and emotions. Time is an illusion. Aging rapidly isn’t necessary
She is upbeat and so expressive. She is not just singing and dancing but she really shows her soul here. This song and performance brings instant happiness.
I remember this from '89, but my most vivid memory of it was from the summer of 2001. I was chatting with my manager in the grocery store I was working in back then. We were closing for the night, and this song came over the store radio, with Paula's "Hey baby!" prompting us to both laugh and go, "Ooh, do you remember this one?" Good times!
I’m also 39. Time is flying. Remember this music like yesterday in late 80s/early 90s. Paula was a laker girl. Wonder if she took Abdul from Kareem. A quick google search would confirm. Gonna do that now
JLo and Paula in the same sentence?? It's a disgrace for Paula. She's probably one of the best dancers and choreographers in history and she had a voice to complete the whole package.
In a musical sense ...Just a brilliantly structured song..💯 Especially with the hook, chorus, bridge, abridge vocal..but the mesh of electronics and actual instruments is a VERY rare gem musically.. 💯
I have a lot of 80's favourites, but this song just has that magical glimmer, that melancholic sweet golden sound. We all know Paula ain't no Celine or Whitney, but she still manages to hit the feels with this one. I much prefer this 7" Remix over the album mix. It just has that magic!

Lindos recuerdos y nuevas experiencias
