Me too,1980s it’s my favorite era but I was born in 2001. As 19 YO youth that I am so crazy about the 1980s when I was a kid til right now, still❤️ everything in 80s! I’m pretty sure 1984 to 1989 those 5 years is shining era of 1980s❤️80S 4EVER❤️ TEAM OLD SKOOL, TEAM 80S❤️
My wife and I sat back in silence watching this. Such a wonderful dose of nostalgia edited into a brilliant mosaic of 80s goodness. The tears were just my heart being overwhelmed with happiness.
This takes me back to the 80's when I had not long met my husband Gareth. Had 34 yrs together. I lost him to cancer at 58yrs old. Loved you then Gareth , love you now I always will
32 years since I first saw this video, I still remember how Belinda just swept the world with this monster hit and hearing this over the radio for over a year is just something. It became an iconic song of the 80s and now Belinda is a legend. And 32 years later, I still have a crush on her.
That is an out-of-the-ordinary memory related to a song. Beautiful imagery you trigger on whoever reads you, it has to be a really precious nostalgic feeling.
damn, this really put feelings for this song in perspective while it was just after i was born, i always had a crush for this song and, every now and then, it pops into my mind and listen to it a few times
I was 22 or 23 then, in a polytechnical study, so practically still in school. I can clearly remember this song and how I bought her CDs after that. Time flies...
Our little league baseball coach used to play this song before each game. I quote, no matter what happens today it was heaven coaching you guys, play with your hearts not your mind. We won every game. Great song beautiful memories
My era was the '60s and '70s. I was 31 when this came out. But I have to admit that there was an incredible amount of excellent pop in the '80s and this is a prime example. With the chord progressions and key changes, it's not only musically wonderful, but so catchy. And, of course, Belinda Carlisle makes it all worthwhile.
Man I love this song so much. I don't even relate it to a romantic feeling or relationships. It just has something that reminds me so much about the joy of being alive. Something about it just makes me so happy for living in this time and place.
I heard this song when I was 8 years old and I loved it ever since... Now I'm 26 and it's sad knowing one day we will be old. Love this song since I was a kid. Found out my daughter has it on her playlist list when we were driving and we both sing it out loud together. Awesome song with such positive vibes!!
This takes me back to 1987, the best days of my life, when I was young and healthy and running cross-country in high school. I used to play this song many times in my head while running-- the song makes me want to get up and move. Gets my vote for best song from 1987.
@@jousemash6653 Nice work. I did something similar in 4th senior year at 12.52. Took a fair bit of training but it was worth it. Such a good feeling afterwards.
This is not a romantic love song this is a love song for humanity to bring heaven on earth to all people and and animals. The place is deep within our hearts and we can reach for it and bring it forth. That is what the song is about and that is why it is so powerful.
I go to a church where the people love the animals the best. The Lord God wants people to care more about the animals. They need room to roam and enjoy living. This is why some ministers and churches are not judging some who choose to be gay or lesbian because animals are important. I am a minister who respects all faiths who love God and do not support the worship of Satan. Please pray for me to find a safer place to live. I have been preaching for years and trying to stop evil drugs that kill not only the body but the soul and take away any hope for everlasting life for the people.
The 1980'ies were also political chaos, air raid sirens every wednesday at high noon, constant fighter jet flyovers, massive NATO millitary excercises every year, and of course THE BOMB. Never forget that freedom is not for free, and it must be protected with brute force.
Belinda Carlisle in the 80’s was not only absolutely gorgeous but her look was also girl next door pretty too… It’s something you don’t see everyday but it’s something to behold…
I started dating my wife in high school in 1998. This is one of her favorite songs. In the first few months of dating we were driving in the car, this song came on. She danced in her seat, belting this song lyric by lyric. I acted like I hated it and had no clue what this song was. Well at 2:54 breakdown, I turned to her and started singing word for word. By 3:24 we were singing together. The make out session was top notch that night lol. Fast forward 24 years later, I can’t imagine my life without her. And we still sing this song together on road trips.
Precioso tema!! Me remonta s mi adolescencia...casi todos los temas de esa época son con un muy buen contenido y tienen una armonía excepcional...es la época dorada de la música 🎵🎵🎵 Vivan los 80!!!
I am a Gen Z boy, but when I was being adopted by two mums and we were on our way to my forever family home in our 2007 Ford Fiesta Ghia, this song came on and got me hooked on proper classics forever. *THANKS, BELINDA!*
What's more remarkable about the song is that the music video was directed by Oscar winning actress Diane Keaton! Very iconic music video. This song's got the whole package.
@@ocelothayes9452 It does though ngl lmao especially the background dancers holding those lit up globes with those face masks... like... why do they need to look like child burglers lol. Still a kick ass song though.
This song is one of the most DYNAMIC songs ever written. Percussion, the Bridge keeps building, the key changes, Belinda's voice is so full and well articulated. Love it!
I didn't exist yet when this song was released, but I genuinely believe that music is a reflection of its time and era. Today's music clearly shows we're unhappy, hopeless, and constantly looking back on the past, trying to relieve it with remixes of old songs. And the 80s look completely different from the 20s - vibrant, hopeful, carefree, and innovative. Who wouldn't want to live in that kind of world? Knowing everything I know now, I'd happily give up on advanced technology and social media, travel back to the 80s, and stay there forever.
I lived through the 80's. And while it was a good time, it wasn't perfect. Hindsight tends to be a bit rose tinted. That being said, i'd go back in heartbeat. The whole concept of social media has made people miserable. I'd much rather go back to a time when social meant actually being around people in a physical sense. So much better.
I,m a late 60,s, 70,s and 80,s guy! In 1976 I turned 20. I lived in a much better world! I got the best out of all. Then came Metallica, OH YA!! Jeff D.

I'm going through a dark period at the moment but this song encourages me to keep going, it's now my favourite as a result.

Same!
Was one my mom's favourite songs. I played it at her funeral and the San Junipero episode of black mirror just resonated with me. This song reduces me to tears every time
God bless! My late mom also had a fav song. She died a bit over 3 years ago and when i listen to it now i smile and think of her fondly. Time does heal.
Honestly my greatest fear on Earth is losing my mother , she’s what makes Heaven On Earth , her & a very very select few . The Loss will be the only 1 to ever break me , i’d wish that i go before her , but when i think of what that would do to her , i realize that there are no happy endings… Just Endings , i hope Life Consoles you . And i just pray my Mother & Father Live Happily For a Long , Long Time
Me the song reminds me of the black mirror San Junipero episode

My wife and I sat back in silence watching this. Such a wonderful dose of nostalgia edited into a brilliant mosaic of 80s goodness.
The tears were just my heart being overwhelmed with happiness.
This takes me back to the 80's when I had not long met my husband Gareth. Had 34 yrs together. I lost him to cancer at 58yrs old. Loved you then Gareth , love you now I always will

One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Belinda is WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL!!!
Well stated 🎉😅
32 years since I first saw this video, I still remember how Belinda just swept the world with this monster hit and hearing this over the radio for over a year is just something. It became an iconic song of the 80s and now Belinda is a legend. And 32 years later, I still have a crush on her.

This song takes me back to 1987 listening to this while my mom takes us to the mall to shop. Now she's elderly and i'm a middle aged man. Time flies!
That is an out-of-the-ordinary memory related to a song. Beautiful imagery you trigger on whoever reads you, it has to be a really precious nostalgic feeling.
damn, this really put feelings for this song in perspective
while it was just after i was born, i always had a crush for this song and, every now and then, it pops into my mind and listen to it a few times
I was 22 or 23 then, in a polytechnical study, so practically still in school. I can clearly remember this song and how I bought her CDs after that. Time flies...

What a decade the 80’s were. I was so blessed to spend my teenaged years there. We had the best music.
Totally agree even if i was born in '86
Must have really been fun.
Each generation before 2000 thinks this
I was born in the 90s so you are lucky!! 😊😅
Our little league baseball coach used to play this song before each game. I quote, no matter what happens today it was heaven coaching you guys, play with your hearts not your mind. We won every game. Great song beautiful memories
Your coach had a big heart.
My era was the '60s and '70s. I was 31 when this came out. But I have to admit that there was an incredible amount of excellent pop in the '80s and this is a prime example. With the chord progressions and key changes, it's not only musically wonderful, but so catchy. And, of course, Belinda Carlisle makes it all worthwhile.
nothing beats 60s music 🥰
You nailed it 💯👍🎶🤘🔥

Please hurry as my heart, soul breaks living in the times I find myself in. Heaven on earth sounds like a wonderful place to live right now trust 🙏
Yeah I agree 100%! I grew up in the 80’s and it was fantastic!
deffo! simpler is better
Jeff D.
Amazing that you can have perspective about 80`s though not exsist then.
