    Wow my fence company has to remove 10 posts they told me it will be an all day job and cost 2000.00. They were the ones in the wrong. Geesh I love this video

      Your fence company was trying to get rich off of one job or what? Take matters into your own hands and make it happen with some scrap wood and a little elbow grease. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more great content.

      10 for $2,000 💰🤑🤔
      ( I have to remove 31,
      so l will quote that as
      $6,000 🥳)
      That is why l read elsewhere that it cost more to demo the old, then it is to install the new woods.
      Now l see why companies are charging $30 per foot.
      😳🤔🤫

    Your approach worked great! I removed 3 4x4 posts yesterday using your method and couldn't believe how easy it was. The only thing I did differently was that my body weight is 140 lbs, so maybe you have a couple of pounds on me 🙂 But using leverage as you pointed out, it still worked great. Thanks for sharing a brilliant idea!

    Great video and approach!. The only amendment I'd make is to move the rock closer to the fence post so the pivot point is further away from you. Doing this will mean you'll need to exert less force for more pulling power.

    Great idea ! My issue is they buried them 4 ft into the ground , I’m going to try a floor jack method first but keep this one in mind next time I’m doing a fence post and not a deck they over did it with these ones

    • @roselsimpson858
      @roselsimpson858  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes 4 feet deep is a bit overkill. If the floor jack doesn't work this method will still work you just have to stake more blocks so you can raise the post higher. Once you get the post free enough tilt it to the side and drag it out! Good luck!

    I tried the other method of attaching a piece of wood to the fence post then use a jack to lift them out. The ground was too soft and the wood I put under the jack would just crack. Now i didn't build his device in the video but I should have. I just used a 2x4 stud and a fulcrum, it got them post out, but I cracked a couple of 2x4's. His device would have been a lot stronger for sure.

    It appears that the posts you're removing are strong and intact. What would you recommend for posts that are rotted? My experience has been that the rotted post breaks off, and I'm left to remove the concrete anchor that's still in the ground. Your thoughts?

    • @roselsimpson858
      @roselsimpson858  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, although I haven't been confronted with that scenario as of yet the 1st thing I would try is to find a very large bolt and screw down through the middle of the post left in the concrete it should still be good and try lifting it that way. If that didn't work I would just move over a foot or so and adjust my boards to fit. Hope that was helpful.

    • @emanuelmota7217
      @emanuelmota7217 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dig down around the concrete footing maybe 6" deeper than the top of the concrete. Then wrap a strong chain around the footing and up and over the 2x4's (need a hook on the chain to hook it together). Then pull up using your bocy weight (as he does here). I've seen this work on other videos wtih a jack - should word with this method, too.

    So tell me this how wood you remove the wooden fence post if it was so bad that the pole broke and the rest of it was underground because I have this problem and I have spent 4 days removing 10 out of 30 of the broken posts by digging them out and removing them by hand and it's killing my back and my body so please 🙏 tell me something and do a video on what you would do if you were in my place

    • @roselsimpson858

      Tony in this instance I do not have any magic. When I found a rotten post I would use my saw cut it flush and move my new post over about 12 inch dig my new hole and adjust my new fence section accordingly. Anything else is going to involve a lot of digging. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Thanks for watching stay tuned for more great content.

      Maybe drive a really long bolt i to it and do this same trick?
      Lever it out by pulling on that bolt.
      Would need a long corse tooth bolt though.

    • @jaysenthrelkeld
      @jaysenthrelkeld 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Get a long thick eye bolt(rated for high weight), drill a hole in the center of the post and screw eye bolt all the way in. Might need to attach a chain to the eye bolt to reach whatever you use to pull it up with. A farm jack works really well. Just add two 5' 2x4 and a bolt to the jack to give it support legs(kinda like a tripod)

  • @gaylanbishop1641
    @gaylanbishop1641 ปีที่แล้ว

    Instead of adding 2x4’s you could just roll your fulcrum closer

    • @roselsimpson858
      @roselsimpson858  ปีที่แล้ว

      True, but the longer the 2x4s the less stain no matter how close the fulcrum is.

    • @roselsimpson858
      @roselsimpson858  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it will the only thing I would do differently is if there is enough of the post above ground I would use a tie down strap and wrap it around the post or try to catch some of the concrete if possible.
