Hi son. The finished concrete should be “above” the soil line and should be beveled so that water flows away from the post. The soil you put back over the concrete allow water to sit against the post and promotes rot. But hey, “That’s how ya learn!”
Great advice pops, I was thinking the same thing. Probably not worth pouring a second go on top and just save it for the future posts. Maybe digging out and putting gravel around the posts with low foundation would be helpful?
I reckon you could clean off the top and box around it somehow and top with concrete repair. You'd have to check label to see what depth it goes to. I used a Sika normal (not rapid) which take a light wash of the same as a primer. Maybe you could mix in small (5mm or so) stone to give it more strength. Must be mixed with drill powered mixer.
Also, recommend putting a few inches of gravel or rocks at the bottom of your holes before putting the post and Quikcrete in. That way, water won't pool up around the post bottom and rot it out.
I’d call that a job well done. Now you don’t have to worry about the fence falling on your cars when you leave.

What is in the orange conduit? It's barely below ground level. We use 240V mains electric in Australia. Wouldn't want to put my spade through it. Great rhino digger by the way.

@@DayOffDIY thanks for the reply, yes my wife and myself did a drive and stay all along that west coast . Did Death Valley LA Sacramento San Francisco etc in the mid 1980s fantastic holiday and the pound dollar exchange was pretty good back then. I liked small town USA better.

time, money, and it was a lot of work! I have probably 20+ fence posts to do on my property, this section came down from a winter storm and was blocking the driveway
Those old post you replaced they will rot in 2 years.
the new pressure treated ones i installed? I shouldve added more concrete so they dont touch mineral soil but they should last for much longer than 2 years
