    AHhh the Deshka river... I could have hauled those loads in my boat up river for you. You can run really high up in a low draft boat.

    Wow, what a video! What a beautiful location!
    It seems like all of Alaska is that beautiful!
    I recently spent 3 weeks up there too, vacationing.

    I live on a very small island in the south pacific ocean, Norfolk island. 1700 kilometers east of mainland Australia. My dream is to build a cabin and live in Alaska! Loved the video, cheers.

      I'm glad to hear you like it! Norfolk sounds like a cool place. Make your dreams reality by getting some property then figure out the logistics of building it!

      Just do it. Over 40 years ago when I was in my mid 20s I quit a good job on the east coast of the USA and moved here. We have a home and remote cabin here. Not as remote as this, but it is over a half dozen miles from the road.

      We bought 5 acres with 3 bedroom/garage/well/septic/internet/grid power/even an air strip for planes for 40k. Raw land for as little as 10k for 5 acres. Here's ours th-cam.com/video/IyP86Wv1sno/w-d-xo.html

    Awesome views! That first cast was great!

      It for sure was. The pike were weird, they'd always hit your first cast then kinda loose interest after that.

    ❤️Ugggg! Hard work! My husband and I are building an off grid cabin in Ak. It’s brutal! 😂

      @mike.hardy37  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It definitely is brutal! Everything wants to kill you. We were almost taken away by the mosquitoes!

      I build a place off a trail over 20 years ago. It is all work from cutting trees, hauling materials and then the build. I had jobs where I could live there half the year for years.

      @mike.hardy37  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Being able to live there half the year would definitely make it worth it!

    I hope the cabin dweller understands what beaver fever is. Drinking untreated water with them nearby is a sure fire to catch it.

    Nice vid. Looks like a fun time. Where did you get the plans for the cabin?

    • @mike.hardy37

      Thanks! My friend didn't follow just one plan. He resurched small cabin builds online and came up with his own.

    Did a "helicopter" deliver the wood (that was delivered in the winter)?

    • @mike.hardy37
      @mike.hardy37  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was brought in by snowmobiles

    Are you guys packing heat?

    • @mike.hardy37
      @mike.hardy37  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure if you mean fire heat or if we were carrying guns. Yes to both though. We brought a fireplace and materials for the chimney but didn't get it installed yet.
