That is some seriously beautiful woodworking. My great grandad built a 2 story Victorian with a wrap around porch by cutting, seasoning and tongue and grooving it all himself. That house is still standing, built before 1900. Your home is just as amazing!

I am 67years old and my grandfather was an old school carpenter, no power tools back in his day and I recall, everything he made was precision, with accurate fits. He always said, if you're going to do something, do it to the best of your ability and don't take shortcuts. Measure twice, cut once! He'd have approved of your work here! I have not regretted the time I spent watching your build and I know that I uttered "wow" on more than one occasion. I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy the fruits of your labour! David, you can slowly develop a sense of design. The trick is every time you see something you like, look at it for a long time and really try to understand what it is you like about it. Is it shapes, colors, textures angles etc? Keep thinking about it and then try to integrate those elements into something you do.
