    Best video on how to reconnect the stopper to the rod and how to use that universal kit. Still works in 2024. Thanks.

    Thank you so much for explaining the length of the rod to stopper and to face the notched backend to the rod for locked stopper... i was doing it the opposite way and it was driving me nuts! your video saved me!

    Thanks for the top on the stopper end. I didn't realize I could put it sideways to the ball rod like that, and then able to pull it out for cleaning. Great tip.

    What if I did exactly what you are doing, except it leaks at the area where the ball is attached?

    Great explanation, ty! My thoughts & questions on it though are: This is extremely tedious if someone has issues physically. Why on earth do they make somethg so difficult? I opt for no stopper system at all, other than an old fashioned one that can be placed & removed as needed. Who wants or needs to struggle with everythg? Lol

    I've seen like 20 of these.. This is my favorite... I haven't unscrewed the nut off the pipe yet.. All I know is my stopper just lays in the sink and when i pull the thingy up and down nothing happens,lol

    I know it's hard enough for non handy folks , so I have a great time saving tip with a marker or a good memory see what hole the rod is currently in before taking it apart. That's just the only one I got ........Sides get sore so extra cushion is nice for us older folks, the only way to go.

    My ball joint leaks water. Yes I have used the rubber washer but still it’s leaks out water

    Thanks for sharing im trying to put this in and it keeps leaking through the ball. I see you did put tape where the ball goes , nothing was mentioned on that . could that be why its leaking ? Ive tried everything and used all the different parts in the kit all ball sized gasket and no gasket .. I will try the tape on the rod next see if that takes care of it leaking through . and wont the tape get wet and sorta fall apart of no ? Thanks again ~

    • @benjamintimmins1656
      @benjamintimmins1656 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you dont put tape on the ball rod, idk where this guy got that idea...you are supposed to put it on the threads where the nut goes to keep it from leaking...thread tape goes on threads but not threads that small!

    • @joedevitto6113
      @joedevitto6113 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@benjamintimmins1656 True but it worked no more leaking after i did the tape where the ball goes on the rod ... it just would not stop leaking no matter what i did tighten or loosened the cap... I sold the house few weeks ago ..

    Thanks for this video. We accidentally broke the tailpiece nut because we tightened it too much. The problem now is we need a tailpiece nut that's 7/8" inlet diameter, but cannot find one. Any suggestions?

    • @SkyManagement
      @SkyManagement  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm. I’ve never actually broken one. But I would probably have to rob one from another drain assembly. You can usually find used ones at a place like habitat for humanity where they get donated stuff. Would be cheap. You may be able to get them from a plumbing supply store.

    thanks but the gaset/gromet is curved to face the ball for people who have it and comes out with the ball easily so you need to watch for it and check it anyway when its apart

    Hi I am need some advice on how to get the sink stopper unstuck. No have not been able to use my sink for over a year because I can’t get the stopper out of the drain hole. It is lodged in the pretty good and the rod is broken;( Would love your direction on this!

    • @joedevitto6113

      Either a suction cup which i just learned or something with a magnet on it if the top of the plug is metal .. or may some strong tape stick it on the top and pull up. hope this helps

    • @benjamintimmins1656
      @benjamintimmins1656 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use a vacuum cleaner and the suction will lift it up...

    • @LorenaHitchens
      @LorenaHitchens ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just tap on the stopper with the rubber tip of my pliers' handles. This breaks the suction seal, so you can get something like a fingernail under the edge of the stopper. DON'T use the metal end of your pliers and then hit it hard! You can crack the sink that way.

      @@LorenaHitchens Thank you so much! I will give this a shot in the morning. It’s sealed pretty tight!
