Have to say after having this game for over a week and completing it on Goblin complete stealth, This game is Amazing..maybe you got caught too much..this is CLASSIC Stealth gameplay and for us that miss that type it's AMAZING Pick it up now!

You got me wrong- did-range game referring to the developer/publisher. Not indie, but not quite huge AAA. A mid-level game should still be polished, no?
gameranx Just seemed like you contradicted yourself. I agree it should be polished, but for mid-level price I don't expect it to be spectacular. In my eyes that kind of stuff gives a game character lol. What would sniper elite 3 be without nearly brain-dead enemies?
@@DrHax2012 Good luck! Try playing at a harder dificulty if you can(maybe not last one, but you get the idea), and try to never get spotted, the game feels better that way. And don't forget about the very useful button shortcut for the quick save(extremely useful)
Buy this game. It's amazing. Played the whole campaign with a friend in coop, and when there every now and then were some bugs, we just thought they were funny. Beautiful game, buy it!
this game is for pro in stealth, not for casual action stealth fans therefore, it may not look good for some people... but for pro and stealth fanatic this game is for you
I'm someone who loves Styx's brand of humor. I loved it in the first game, and I love the little meta touches they've added for this one. I've only done a couple missions so far, but I can't wait to do more. The way Styx berates me after each death cracks me up every single time. It's kind of a unique brand of humor, and I'm really appreciating it for what it is. I agree about the jumping - it's not terribly consistent. I do love the increased verticality, but it also serves to highlight the faulty jumping. I do disagree on the look of the game - I think it's very pretty. Styx has a unique style, and this game really doesn't look any different from the first (which was also on XB1 and PS4). I guess updated graphics aren't something that really bother me, especially in a mid-tier level game. There are precious few stealth games out there, and this one is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan. Play Master of Shadows first, by all means, but be aware that there's a LOT of retreading through old locations in the first game. That was one of the big faults of the original.
I have started playing it with a friend in coop, and we've reached area 2 after 5 hours of trying not to kill anybody and playing on the hardest difficulty = you die in one hit, you can't fight at all and you have no checkpoints in a level, so beat a level in one go or start from the beginning. So far I can only say that it was a great time with many failed attempts and I'm excited to continue failing tomorrow :)
It's a plague of modern games. Best example is F4. Everybody praises it. I *hated* it. I just completely ignored it, and am thankful the game just never bothered me that much with it.
Styx is one of those games that makes me think, "neat, if I didn't have a ton of other games I'm even more interested in that I haven't finished yet, let alone ever started, I'd buy it!" It's great we live in a time when there are so many amazing and worthwhile games but it does kind of suck knowing I won't time to play all the games I'd like to.
@@Jax1147 Oh, that's the glory of a backlog, my boy - it only grows and grows! You're never bereft of quality titles, because you haven't played any of them in the past three years!
Lol they're just trolling man, I know it's hard when ppl make fun of or don't take your work that you put so much effort in seriously. Just look at your like-dislike ratios and move on. You guys are one of the best quality content creators out there.
Yep just dloaded it yesterday, I've only finished the prologue but I'm enjoying it so far-saying that I'm not sure how I'd feel if I'd bought it outright, I guess it depends what I paid for it
I'm sorry, doesn't look good? "Terrible" AI yet you only show ONE clip of them doing something you literally see in every stealth game since the dawn of time? You say the jumping is flawed but you show 0 examples of it, same thing with the humour, take the time to actually show one of the crappy one liners. The one criticism about combat however you did show the example of and yes it does look very sub par. Sorry guys but this review really doesn't feel that well put together.
I've been slowly playing through the first Styx during the past months. It feels like a B-tier game, but a good one nonetheless! The second one seems interesting to me personally, though I don't know when I can buy it.
Galgemis yeah, or i just get a bunch of games for cheap through humblebundle or bundlestars. Sometimes the deals are amazing, especially with the humble monthlies for the past 4-5 months.
Regarding brain dead enemies, think of it this way: How many games have you played where, upon seeing an enemy, you hunted them to the ends of the Earth to kill them. Never stopping, ever hunting, always trying to be one step ahead of your prey...now switch roles. As cool as that level of tension sounds, wouldn't that piss you off sooner rather than later? (Best example of this that I can think of is the police in Watch Dogs 1. They could be rather relentless.) All in all, it seems reason enough for unintelligent enemies in one's escapist entertainment. Thanks for the review regardless! 🍻
Just finished this game and I LOVED it. The stealth mechanics, the beautiful graphics, the cute Goblin, I found this so entertaining! Very refreshing take on the stealth genre, made with LOVE. I actually liked it better than AC Odyssey, which was not made with love.
I'll have to agree with Jake Baldini of the Great Panini, verticality in the first game was something that wasn't done well, at all. Not even close to how games like AssCreed and Shadow of Mordor control. I was hoping the second game would fix this but based on what you're saying, its not the case. Hopefully they can patch up some of the retarded AI. I bought it because of the beautiful environments and open-ended gameplay that was fun in the first one but what made me buy it on launch was the co-op.
I actually pre-ordered the game maybe 2 months back and after getting to play through the intro and the first 2 levels I think this game is WAY better than you make it out to be. Honestly I think the game just kind of messed with your head with all the jokes. (And just to clarify, I am playing this on PC) Styx: Shards of Darkness in my opinion held up to my standards EXACTLY where I wanted the game to be. And while no, the game hasn't blown me out of the water just yet, (I haven't played through far enough for that to happen) I do believe it is an improvement on the former Styx: Master of Shadows. With a much bigger budget after the first game being so well-received the developers were able to use this to expand the world of Styx to be so much bigger. I actually haven't experienced ANY of the bugs you mentioned, and I was kind of surprised when you brought them up. The first word that came to mind when I started playing this game was the exact opposite of what you mentioned which was "smooth". The game felt really clean, and really well crafted for a lesser known studio, again living up to my expectations. In the first game a major issue was hanging off of ledges, it was practically impossible to utilize in the first game, and the Styx: Master of Shadows was really bashed for it. This time around however I can very confidently say the ledges and climbing mechanics are much more well polished than you make them out to be. The only times I have ever actually fallen off the map was in the very beginning of the game when I was working out the keyboard controls in the first place. I can't empathize when you say that the AI are really clunky, they actually seem pretty solid for me, even posing as a challenge on the "normal" difficulty. And I consider myself a pretty solid stealth genre player and fan, so I don't know whether this reflects upon me as a stealth player and my own skill, or maybe you and how you might be extremely adept at these types of games, allowing you to breeze through some of these levels. However what I do know is that you're comments on the AI in my opinion are less fact and more of your own opinion, as what you described is the exact opposite of what I've experienced so far. However yes, I agree that the combat system is clunky compared to the rest of the game, and my response would be it's meant to be that way. The easiest way I can describe this is Styx as a game is meant to be one of those, "you get caught, you lose." type of stealth game. Granted it's more lenient than that actually providing a combat system in the first place, but again this most definitely is not the focus of the game, and is really supposed to be a mechanic that is rarely used if at ALL. With the "hard" mode right after normal (dubbed in Styx as the "Goblin" difficulty) actually taking away the combat mechanic completely, meaning you will not be able to fight back if caught. I absolutely love this game, and 100% recommend this for any stealth lovers out there, again I do feel that this video you made is a bit more pessimistic than most of you're videos (I always make sure to come to you first when I want to buy a game :) whether or not this was maybe caused by your own apprehension for really hoping that the game wouldn't be bad causing you to see only what you feared, or you were purposely looking for cons so that you wouldn't seemed bias in this video I'm not sure. But again this is just my opinion, and again to those of you who are on the fence on whether or not to buy this game, I completely recommend it without a doubt in my mind.
This was my first Styx game so I went in there with a fresh mind and I absolutely loved it. Maybe you had an image of styx in your mind already and the humour played against that image but for me the humour was good. I will be playing Master of Shadows in a few days cause it's on the sale on steam now. So let's see how it pans out :)
Yeah, Im like you. I saw the reviews of both games, but Im playing this one first as they re-vamped the mechanics, tools, crafting, etc. Going to Master of Shadows, youll still enjoy it, but youll have to get used to some of his tools missing.
@@tellurye oh nice. I can update my experience about master of shadows now too. So as I said, I played master of shadows immediately after shards of darkness. Needless to say, I liked every bit of it. I am an avid stealth fan so this series became one of my favorites. Now I feel like replaying both of these games again (in correct order this time xD)
I played the first styx game,Styx:The master of shadows was a great game with old stealth and damn did i get so creative with the clone, the map design was 10/10 and was so large ,the story wasnt the greatest as it had many plot holes but it had the best plot twist i ever saw that i didnt see coming at all,i hope this game focuses more on the story and with the already great gameplay it may be my stealth game of the year
The levels are even better in shards of darkness and more varied in locations. The story isn't as big of a twist with this one as MoS but it has a very good story and more interesting characters. There are also some references to the first game.
The controls feeling clunky and falling off ledges is an outright lie. The jumping is a lot better in this than the last game. Maybe Jake just sucks at jumping? What he says about the enemies clipping through stuff and the humour falling flat is also an outright lie. The enemies don't do that and the jokes are hilarious.
All of those cons, wow, which some were flawed. Let me start off correcting your misinformation: The graphics and cinematics are factually and prominently better than MoS. The combat - parry system is ACTUALLY better in the game, cause it doesnt lock you in a forced 1v1 perspective, AND since you can deal with multiple enemies more easily, AND escape from confrontation anytime with ease. The blantant design change makes this visually obvious. The REAL issue is simply the animation, which only is the case because of the free camera system, just like Horizon Zero Dawn and other games without lock on. Overall, better gameplay wise, which has more effective priority. The A.I is not that dumb. That footage is bs. I beat the game on normal and they search every hideable object within sound range under alerts, this includes ledges, nearly everytime (98% for me). Feels unpolished? L... o.... l. The targetted 30FPS is WAY better, as I said b4 the graphics are better (includes pop in), the climbing and ledge detection are WAY better especially, there's way less flashing white lines in the levels (which is horrendous asf in MoS), Styx runs faster, muffled kills are faster, opening locked doors are faster, ill just stop here. Character wise, Styx is better presented and represented in this game, very good characterization, however the humor isnt executed as good, like you said.
Aura Guardian its not misinformation, it's his opinion that you just so happen to disagree with for the most part. just because you think differently about the game compared to the first one than he does doesnt make him wrong. I could write 3 paragraphs telling you why your opinion is wrong too but doesnt make it true
jeremy roberts Your a dumbass, I stated several game mechanic facts. Your bluffing your pathetic ass off and dound ignorant. Especially ignorant for attempt to label any form of lines as opinions.
wtf you talking about , the game looks great ( on pc ) , the stealth mechanics are awesome and the enemies line of sight and awareness isn't that bad , better than most of AAA games anyways, it's not great but it's ok . you should've also mentioned the fact that the map is pretty big for what it is and offers you lots of possibilities and options for infiltration .
I bought this game a few days ago and was expecting a so-so game. But once I started playing I couldn’t stop. This game is so freaking awesome that I cannot stop playing. I love it 👍
I seriously love how you can look at a game from every angle and present every single good and bad point about it. Keep up the good work guys much love from a turkish gamer.
The gameplay is not bugged or clunky, this game is hard at max difficulty with no HUD of enemies alert icons. Every single move or jump in the game feels like could be the last ome because they are pretty manual. You have to aim right, you have to calculate many things, you have to turn in the air and give to the jump some effect, you have to hold a special button to grab the edges etc, etc. Every jump or fall requires skill and that's unique nowadays. The IA is not perfect but it works perfectly. Try to beat the game at max difficulty with no HUD and no alerts, I mean, with nobody noticing you are there, like a ghost. This is not Assassin's creed, this is a real stealth game. Try to beat it with 0 kills. It is more fun and intense and fits the character much better going like a ghost without killing anyone. Styx is essentially a troll, not a killer. I give this game a 9/10. In some missions maybe it's a 6,5-7/10 but in others is a full 10/10.
I'm having a blast with this game, and it's largely to thank to the fact that the devs understood they were working on a game, and they designed the gameplay, levels, and guards as such. I'm getting tired of stealth games that don't allow you to actually be stealthy. Look at MGSV, guards have random patrol paths, level design is ass (you're forced through chokepoints that have guards watching), guards are set off by a single footstep (despite being in a base with 20 guards all patrolling and making noise). And if a guard spots you, the entire base has instant wallhacks on you, no matter where you go. Styx has none of those issues. Sure guards patrol the same little paths over and over, but it adds to the gameplay. You can actually hide, observe, sneak around. Rather than run and pray the guard doesn't turn around. Guards also aren't set off by a single noise. They only give a damn if you make a loud noise or run multiple steps, because it sounds out of place ("did one of my buddies fall over drunk? Those steps aren't paced like a human, better check it out"), but they're not set off by a single step, unless you're really close to them, which is understandable because you'd be startled as well if you're alone and suddenly hear a step next to you. Guards also only chase you if they've actually spotted you, and continue searching in the general direction they last saw/heard you. Level design is stellar as well. You're a goblin, an agile little creature, and levels are designed with that in mind, giving you all these little nooks and crannies to hide in or even bypass areas with.
It was my first game of this series and it's hooked me 100%. I could say that I totaly liked gameplay and only one thing witch I think was realy stupid in this game was- BOSSES. Bosses was absolutly have no links with basic gameplay, and 90% of game experiense was no need to defeat them. I hoped for battles with powerfull humanoids, not giant monsters.
Doesn't look good? Then don't play on console. It looks much much better on PC. It isn't the absolute best, but it was far from as bad as you made it out to be. I could tell from this video that it looked much worse for you than it did for me, and I really don't have that good of a computer. Personally, I really enjoyed the humor and the evolved character of Styx. Yes, the combat kinda sucks. But it makes sense! You have to parry or dodge if you don't want to take damage, then you have to use that opening to attack. You die in 2-3 hits, because that actually makes sense. Besides, it promotes the stealth aspect of the game so that you don't have a repeat of assassin's creed where you run into a mob of 20 guys and take them on in close combat. Yes, you fall when you try to jump from ledge to ledge. That isn't because it's clunky, it's because once again it is actually realistic. Sorry that this isn't Uncharted 4 where you have to try your hardest if you want to fall. If you want to catch a ledge, you have to actually jump properly and land yourself. I had absolutely no problems with the vertical aspect. Was everything perfect? Of course not. Did the AI sometimes mess up, of course it did. But did that really take away from the game's experience that much? Not really. As long as you didn't try to fight everyone head on, you probably will almost never encounter this problem.
I would highly recommend picking this game up. It’s probably my favorite game of all time. If you do buy it, try out the CO-OP, it’s fantastic and really spices up the game
Spoiled kids reviewing games... What you are actually doing shredding this game is reducing competition and not being fair with an studio with a 500 times less budget for a title than a AAA studio (most studios like this don't even reach half a million whereas the AAA average budget for a title is 50-200 millions) . Cyanide Studios delivers a sound game that could arguably not fully polished but who really cares if an animation is a bit off or if it's not fully optimized as long as it's fun, entertaining and different than the blockbusters crap. Spoiled gamers need to be taken by the hand and they play the same video game on and on. You guys deliver the kind of review that you'd expect from corrupted sites, only liking games that make a huge marketing effort spending millions. What's the point for us consumers of watching your reviews if you don't discover good games for us nor embrace different mechanics, difficulties or sense of humor (I found this game in particular very funny, maybe it's because I'm European as the developers). I love this game, and it's hard for me to find games like this one.
Your reviews remind me of that one Polish gaming TV channel 'Hyper' I used to watch when TV was a relevant media. Good job! It brings back good memories.
I am hooked on it. I didn't like it at first, but then I figured out the difference in gameplay from the previous game; now I love it. I have hard time going back to the previous game. Remember, the clone is your friend; max it out as soon as you can.
I played half of the game and I really like it, tbh I recommend you to buy it , I didn't see any bugs, the A. I. is not bad ,thee skill tree is awesome, you can complete a mission in infinite ways, if you are a fan of stealth games, you will really enjoy this game.(I am playing on the third difficulty goblener I think). I don't know why gameranx said so much bad things about this game...
i play this game am i think this actually is a good game i don't see anything wrong is a every classic stealth game and what did you expect? combat? Seriously? like WTF?
hey jake, love ya. hope you feel better and not sick soon. This may come off as odd, but seeing you talk about a game like this is refreshing. it reminds me you're human, which is what a lot of big name reviewers miss. often times people get too caught up in not sounding biased that it doesn't feel real. Gameranx's content in general feels very real and very human and that's why I love this channel so much. It has never been cookie cutter, it has always been people who love videos games talking about video games. I love that I can feel you passion for the games within both your criticism and praise. I watch most of these before you buy episodes purely for entertainment, yet these are the first videos I check to get a feel for a game I'm considering buying. Point is, keep it up Jake. Once again, love ya.
well i think witcher 3 was really boring. i had to force myself to play it through. but i really really liked styx. never played the first one. Loved the real sneak aspect of this game and not being like every other "sneak" game where stealth is pretty much optional. I play on the second hardest difficulty which makes the enemies oneshot you and you can't parry their attacks which makes what gameranx said about it being clunky or buggy pretty irrelevant. The AI is not really that stupid as gameranx shows at 4:00. That NEVER happened to me. They always find me if im near the scene. The guards are actually more clever than most games nowdays and they spot you very easily. The Death cutscenes are fucking hilarious. If you've ever played wow or warcraft. The game almost felt like playing a goblin rogue in warcraft universe since there were elves, humen and dwarves involved. (and thats a good thing). However i think it's a littlebit too short. I played it through in 14 hours. It's a budget game and a damn good at that.
Haven't played it yet but the Master of Shadow had the same buggy jumping and wacky AI, maybe because I played an earlier build of it. Although it does seem like he has a bit too many one-liners in this one, I'm still excited to play it.
Yep. Although this guy kinda talked trash about the game i see a lot of disagreement on coment section aparently this game is lit so i'll give it a try
1:07 Styx makes a reference to Assassin's Creed, if you read the subtitles and listened to the faint gameplay audio. I'm the one guy that acknowledges this line in the game. (It's a well deserved joke.)
I noticed that when you review a game that requires skill to lvl up not a credit card you just shred it to bits & complain. I really like & enjoy your channel so it pains me to be one of those fans that complains but I've noticed that you're not that good of a tactical action game player. You're brilliant with games like minecraft but when it comes to fast paced skill games. You're very mediocre, that's when micro transactions come in handy for people like you &a when a game doesn't have that you grill it for everything.
Had never heard of the first game, became a fan after buying this one (styx 2). The controls are not up to the mark and AI is a failure (it trys to make it up in numbers what it could not achieve in intelligence). These two are the prerequisites for a stealth game, but apart from that I see no flaws. Fell in love for its incredible level design. It looks beautiful (even without high end settings like AO and the likes). I hope this series does not die. STYX is a likable character. Praise the Sun!
Can recommend playing this game in coop / 10. I'm halfway through it now and I really like it. We are playing on Hard difficulty without killing enemies which IMO makes it a lot more interesting than if you just kill every guy there is, since you won't have areas that you just cleared of enemies and will have to think about the paths enemies will take. I also really like the humor and sympathize with the main character. There's a few things that I don't like as much but nothing really noteworthy that pisses me off.
These are the only reviews I actually really like just because there's no dumb rating system and it seems all of you guys whenever you review a game you guys are just telling me about the game and its not super structured organized. keep up the great work
I quite liked his one liners. I can't stand typical video game humour so Styx was a breath of fresh air. Too many gamers want the same thing over and over again.
Gameranx - How do you get so many games before they release? And how did you get your intro? Did you make it yourself? Or pay someone else to make it? I'm considering opening my own gaming and review channel and want to know if you'd share any steps that you took in the early days, and what you use to capture and edit your videos. If it wouldn't be too much trouble of course.
Played the first Styx game and enjoyed being able to complete missions without a set course, being able to take different paths and such, but as mentioned in the video there is a co-op? Is the co-op for online only or splitscreen?
The first game was a diamond in the rough. I enjoyed it massively, and to know that this next installment doesn't live up to what the initial game brought forth kinda makes me a bit sad. They probably should've just delayed the game until 3rd or 4th quarter at least.
Reminds me of The Technomancer, which I made a video on. A higher-budget follow up to an overlooked gem, whose resources were mismanaged or misused. I'm glad smaller developers and IPs are kicking, but PLEASE-- aim for polish, not quantity. I'd pay $60 for a polished, repeatable 5 hour concept, but not $20 for a 60 hour mess
I juts play the Demo, and think is a greeat game. I like it so much. I think its a game that offers you a new way to play. Have something diferent from all the comun games that are today at the market. The game forces yo to think a lot and find the way to solve the levels using your inteligence and trying to avoid the figth, which for me its something fresh and challenging. I will buy it.
Im enjoying this game. Think it feels a bit clunky at times but I'm totally into the story and even though some of the levels are kind of big it always points you towards main objectives which I really like. Weird thing is on the loading screen it still has the version number which seems like debug information that ought not to be in the final cut.
I first picked up Styx: MoS when it was put on PlayStation Plus around a year ago, I had no idea how fun the game would be so I started recording gameplay and putting it on my channel (don't waste your time i barely upload these days, my content is shit). Once I actually started playing the game, I got really into it. And along with that I started to edit my videos much better. I haven't actually touched the game in several months, maybe a year dk. But I never knew how much I would love the game, it just immersed me.
Still sick, so apologies if I seem off.
Really wanted to like this game more.

So far I can only say that it was a great time with many failed attempts and I'm excited to continue failing tomorrow :)

It's light here.

Styx is one of those games that makes me think, "neat, if I didn't have a ton of other games I'm even more interested in that I haven't finished yet, let alone ever started, I'd buy it!"
It's great we live in a time when there are so many amazing and worthwhile games but it does kind of suck knowing I won't time to play all the games I'd like to.
Well now we are so starved for actually good games that you should have plenty of time!
@@Jax1147 Oh, that's the glory of a backlog, my boy - it only grows and grows! You're never bereft of quality titles, because you haven't played any of them in the past three years!
Too bad this wasn't made by Ubisoft or EA. Jake would have given it rave reviews.
Again, watch our videos. They speak for themselves.
Jake, it's a joke. Stop getting triggered. You're bigtime now. You gotta be above it.
Lol they're just trolling man, I know it's hard when ppl make fun of or don't take your work that you put so much effort in seriously. Just look at your like-dislike ratios and move on. You guys are one of the best quality content creators out there.
GOT ME
Nesano I like how they actually respond though 😂
Watching this when its Free with Gold on XBL lol
@@lychmrcd624 I've been lowkey addicted to this game. I got up before work twice 2 days in a row to get a few mins in after goin to bed late lol
Same bro. LOL
Yep just dloaded it yesterday, I've only finished the prologue but I'm enjoying it so far-saying that I'm not sure how I'd feel if I'd bought it outright, I guess it depends what I paid for it
If you like stealth games, I wonder why you didn't do a Before You Buy for Aragami.
Really wanted to cover it, but we didn't have time.
:) The game was awesome tho!
If you think this game doesn't look good then there's something wrong with you
I got this game yesterday and for me its amazing because I am a huge fan of stealth games.
Defenetly recomending to try this game out!
I've been slowly playing through the first Styx during the past months. It feels like a B-tier game, but a good one nonetheless! The second one seems interesting to me personally, though I don't know when I can buy it.
releases tmrw
I meant more on the lines of when I'm able to finish the first and get enough money for the second, but an important fact to know nonetheless!
Oh dude, so many games, so little time.
Looking at my Steam library and wishlist hurts my brain and heart ;(
Galgemis yeah, or i just get a bunch of games for cheap through humblebundle or bundlestars.
I actually liked it better than AC Odyssey, which was not made with love.
just because the jumping feels clunky doesnt make it a bug.
It does sometimes when he jumps in a direction and clips through the ledge he's supposed to grab.
I bought it because of the beautiful environments and open-ended gameplay that was fun in the first one but what made me buy it on launch was the co-op.
fuck they still do that?
shadow of mordor is also a bit clunky but i have big hopes for Shadow of War
ignore those fanboys gameranx
I actually pre-ordered the game maybe 2 months back and after getting to play through the intro and the first 2 levels I think this game is WAY better than you make it out to be. Honestly I think the game just kind of messed with your head with all the jokes. (And just to clarify, I am playing this on PC)
Styx: Shards of Darkness in my opinion held up to my standards EXACTLY where I wanted the game to be.
But again this is just my opinion, and again to those of you who are on the fence on whether or not to buy this game, I completely recommend it without a doubt in my mind.
all of your complaints are unfounded. I played the game and there was no glitching at all.
@@napstablook25 Awesome man. I downloaded shards, hoping to play it this weekend. Take it easy, man!
@@tellurye😊
I might be a little late to this but I fell off some stupid platforms because styx would fuck up and completely miss the platform
1:07 "OK, where's the pile of straw? Where'm I supposed to jump? Leap of Faith??
Damn gameranx is replaying to a lot of comments today. That's nice for a channel with 3m subs. :)
thanks!
wtf you talking about , the game looks great ( on pc ) , the stealth mechanics are awesome and the enemies line of sight and awareness isn't that bad , better than most of AAA games anyways, it's not great but it's ok . you should've also mentioned the fact that the map is pretty big for what it is and offers you lots of possibilities and options for infiltration .
Thanks!
Now if you can only find a way to do that to triple A games to!
Never forget
That this game will never be as good as any other stealth game :3
This is the type of game Gollum should of been minus the bugs
Thank you! Great review
Hey, ive heard alot of good things about the PS4 Pro, should I get it or keep my regular PS4?
RazrProject yeah and next year get a pc
RazrProject get a PC
RazrProject I'm loving my PS4 pro so far.
Get a PC sergeant Colt
Build a PC.
I don't know what game you played but this game was absolutely awesome.
Yes, just played it and it was so satisfying and cute!
"I don't know why it's not good."
That was your main downside most of the review. How is that even a review?
I am hooked on it.
I didn't like it at first, but then I figured out the difference in gameplay from the previous game; now I love it.
I have hard time going back to the previous game.
Remember, the clone is your friend; max it out as soon as you can.
Useful vid. Makes me think before i torre.. **cough** buy.

Well this game is worth 10-15 bucks tops
I played half of the game and I really like it, tbh I recommend you to buy it , I didn't see any bugs, the A. I. is not bad ,thee skill tree is awesome, you can complete a mission in infinite ways, if you are a fan of stealth games, you will really enjoy this game.(I am playing on the third difficulty goblener I think). I don't know why gameranx said so much bad things about this game...
I actually think the graphics look really nice
Guy FD the game looks like it was made 4-5 years ago
I loved the first game when it came out and i dont know how i missed this one 6 years ago lmao but i mighty just go home and buy it
i play this game am i think this actually is a good game i don't see anything wrong is a every classic stealth game
and what did you expect? combat? Seriously? like WTF?
hey jake, love ya. hope you feel better and not sick soon.
I have a feeling that this could be one of the top 10 games of 2017
because games like fractured but whole and cyberpunk 2077 aren't coming out this year
maybe not, but it will be on my top 10 list for sure
it is for me atleast. tbh i enjoyed this game more than i enjoyed witcher 3.
Toetech if what you as is true then i am gonna buy this game. coz i worship the Witcher 3
well i think witcher 3 was really boring. i had to force myself to play it through. but i really really liked styx. never played the first one.
I love the Styx games. It’s like the spirit of PS2 era games with semi modern resources. Hope we get a 3rd one.
Watch ACG review for an alternate opinion, more in depth imo. I can tell that Styx didn't really click with Jake this time.
Haven't played it yet but the Master of Shadow had the same buggy jumping and wacky AI, maybe because I played an earlier build of it. Although it does seem like he has a bit too many one-liners in this one, I'm still excited to play it.

As someone not into stealth games, I felt that you beat this game a little too hard.
Don't ask me How did you find a 3 year old comment? :D I don’t even remember writing this.
My interest in this game revolves purely around the fact one of my best friends recorded the song they used in the "shake this shadow" game trailer.
Its an amazing game, wonderful story and its alot of fun. that cliffhanger though >.

I really liked this game, although I can understand some of the flaws that you pointed out
I noticed that when you review a game that requires skill to lvl up not a credit card you just shred it to bits & complain.
Seems like he didn't respond for obvious reasons
Had never heard of the first game, became a fan after buying this one (styx 2). The controls are not up to the mark and AI is a failure (it trys to make it up in numbers what it could not achieve in intelligence). These two are the prerequisites for a stealth game, but apart from that I see no flaws. Fell in love for its incredible level design. It looks beautiful (even without high end settings like AO and the likes). I hope this series does not die. STYX is a likable character. Praise the Sun!
the developers were too sad to make a good game because club penguin shut down 😂😂
lmao
I picked the first Styx up for free on xbox one with xbox live and I was surprised and played it and found the game fun to play

HyperBeastFlashy I would but im contractually obliged to carry on so...
Master of shadows was the most difficult games I ever played but that is what made it fun and amazing
You aren’t holding RT on ledges, that’s why you fall. I’ve had zero problems with jumping and rock climbing 😉
There's a few things that I don't like as much but nothing really noteworthy that pisses me off.
i have never experienced any of these issues though i do find master of shadows a bit better
On PC I didn't experience any of your issues at the start of the vid. It runs brilliantly.
honestly I find myself enjoying these types of videos
These are the only reviews I actually really like just because there's no dumb rating system and it seems all of you guys whenever you review a game you guys are just telling me about the game and its not super structured organized. keep up the great work
We don't like scores. Scores often don't get the point across, and they make people angry for no reason.
the stealth looks similar to the arkham games, and if it is… well i have to buy it
I quite liked his one liners.
What do you think of the breath of the wild emulator?
Played the first Styx game and enjoyed being able to complete missions without a set course, being able to take different paths and such, but as mentioned in the video there is a co-op? Is the co-op for online only or splitscreen?
It doesn't look bad to me, infact it looks really good.
To me this is the only game where you can play as a goblin and the lore is of what Styx is fascinates me so much
The first game was a diamond in the rough.
If the goblins in WoW would look like Styx, i'd still be playing that.
Simply one of the best stealth games of history...
As for the co-op, is it online only or split screen
Thanks for your honest Opinion. I wait for your "before you buy" section before I purchase a game.
Oh so glad this is out, was waiting to see this before i bought it.
I loved the first Styx myself
