Tbf, there are a *lot* of stages, and the dev team had to adjust every single one not only to allow for placing blocks, but also for mining on every surface. It makes sense for there to be some oversights or small errors in places, especially with the level of detail put into Steve as a character and his moveset.
Take a shot every time he says “dirt.” Good luck!

You know what I love about Steve's design? The how awkward and bad it looks, like, compare it with Alex, Steve's pants are terrible, de only thing that makes the legs look a bit separated is the shadow on the knees, while with Alex both legs have boundaries, boots, and pockets, now imagine that one day you just made a poorly made design just for a default skin that will be changed in a matter of minutes, and now imagine that said skin has been quite loved by the community and just as it looks makes it into a place like Smash with just really minor changes.

More accurately (and simply put), roughness maps dictate how "shiny" each part of the texture is. While it does also help give depth, that's usually considered to be the job of normal/height etc maps.

Did you know: Meta Knight's clones during his final smash are a bit odd.
If you pause the game during the final smash, there will be the main Meta Knight with 4 wings and red eyes, but he has clones that attack with him that lack the extra wings and also eyes. Not lacking the _red_ eyes, but eyes at all.

Joker has more victory screen animations. If kirby eats someone, it shows up in the victory screen animation so yeah, theres still more victory screen animations

I‘ve gotten another useless fact for you, Ryu and Ken both automatically turn towards the closest foe, also Ryu has three different neutral attacks, idk how to exactly trigger them but when you’re really close to the enemy he does a small uppercut, if he stands a bit further away he does a kick and then his normal triple hit combo

Missed Opportunity: Steve could've had an idle animation where he cycled through his toolbar! It could've shown what items he still had when some were broken!
It would have been even better if you could do that on command. Like maybe it would scroll left or right through his inventory hotbar depending on which way you shifted the shield while holding it. Using two shield buttons at once would make that action easier.

Continuing the Meta Knight Fact, Meta's Knight's eyes turn red when he parries, but when he's in his Galacta Knight skin, his eyes are red, so they turn yellow when he parries in that skin. Dude switches between eye colors like Tweek switches between characters.

I would like to mention that in Java Edition, Axes have a really slow cooldown but do more damage than swords. The fact that Steve's up tilt and up air are super fast and aren't heavy attacks implies that its specifically Bedrock Edition Steve, since Bedrock has no attack cooldown (the blinking animation also supports this idea).
Also, despite Steve being added to Smash Bros. _after_ the Caves and Cliffs update (where they updated the ore textures to make them more distinct for color blind players), the ores still uses the old classic textures.

For the Roughness texture part, Roughness textures do not give the model depth, they determine reflectiveness. The normal maps determines depth.

For future reference, it is more useful to refer to these idle animations as Idle and Fidget. Idle for the normal breathing loop when the player is providing no input and there is nothing else acting upon the character, and the Fidget is for when the character just sort of does something to keep things interesting.
