After suffering a combat related illness that has taken me out of the workforce I have bought my Valkyrie and am soon to embark on a similar adventure. Thanks for an excellent video of your journey. Hope to join your experience this year. 👍
The west is the best!!!! My wife and I rode our Ducati st2 two up from Pennsylvania to san Francisco in 2016 !!! 8800 miles !! The old Ducati had 186,000 miles on it when we LEFT !!😊😊😊😊😊
When I motorcycle travel I prefer no windshield, and a open face helmet. I purposely don't trim my nose hairs for six months prior. That way the big parts of the bugs don't go up my nose. Only the juice. It's a motorcyclists own brand of tea.

Last year I bought ‘97 Valkyrie for $4,000 . Only 35,000 miles , but after two rides , poor thing doesn’t start no more. Perhaps just a dead battery . Hopefully that’s it.

Thanks for the video, I need to buy a camera, I bought and ride a 1999 Valkyrie and never enjoyed riding as much as I do now, I always rode Harley-Davidson, I go Coast to Coast once a year and that Valkyrie never let me down and is so comfortable but I need a camera to record my ride, what do you use a go pro ?
Thanks James. I actually just whip out my cell phone which has a pretty good camera (with a stabilizer) and record snippets here and there. Then I edit them in a video editor on my phone too. I don't really mess with GoPros or drones, or bring laptops or anything fancy... all that stuff tends to bog down the ride. In fact, if I were to record all the time, this channel would have hundreds of vids!! But sometimes you just gotta ride and not be bothered with technology...

Not really, I think all of the highways had their own appeal... Even the flat plains were pretty awesome. Maybe I'd skip Illinois and go a more Southern Rte next time..
As often as I could. I tried to never get to reserve tank, so I'd stop every hundred miles or so. Only once, in the Blue Ridge Mountains did I come dangerously close to running out of fuel. Took a wrong turn and luckily made it to sputter into a gas station in a small village...
