  • Coast-to-coast-to-coast motorcycle camping trip on my 2000 Honda Valkyrie, Buffalo, in the summer of 2021. I started in San Diego, crossed the Rockies and the Great Plains and ended in New York for a week to attend two weddings.
A week later, I left NYC for Washington DC and then for San Diego traveling down the Natchez Trace Parkway through the South before turning West across Texas. I did very few interstate miles. The trip consisted mainly of backroads and scenic byways across America; small towns and rural places. I tried to camp as often as I could, but every 2-3 days I would take an inn to do laundry and shower up.
Part IV: From Kitsatchie National Forest to San Diego, CA

That's a wonderful adventure. Lovely roads. And the music goes so well with the motorcycle (Ride of the Valkyries) and the travel, of course. Great going.

Bill, all four videos are amazing! How did you plan your fuel stops with the Valkyrie not having a fuel guage, what kind of range were you getting per tank, and were there any issues w/ Buffalo other than the rear tire? Thanks for all your hard work on this series!

Greetings Mark! No issues with this beast, ran like a champ! I didn't really plan stops, I sort of knew my range and filled up more often than not... I did get lost up in the Smoky Mountains and got close to running out... I literally sputtered into a small gas station in some small town. Also in Texas, there are some big stretches along the 90 that don't have gas, and when you are flying along those big open roads you tend to burn more...

@pasqualinobillwilder Wow, that's a true testament to how great the early Valkyrie bikes still are! If you ever need anything in Denver, you've always got a friend here! My wife and I loved watching your four part journey, and we tour on a 1999 Valkyrie F6 with 15K miles that I purchased from the original owner. Most of our touring is at higher altitude, and we've had no issues with the six carburetors.

I'm glad you stopped in Nachitoches. Me and my family lived there on Cane River around 1980. My dad built the historic fort St Jean Baptist replica there. I saw a strange orb of light in the woods there and we also found an old mesoamerican artifact in our garden. Seems like a really crazy place to me. I stopped back there a year or two ago on a cross country trip myself. I'm planning to ride my motorcycle cross country this September or so. I'm loving your documentaries.

I really enjoyed your trip! I am a full-time nomad who travels in a rv but have been planning a coast to coast trip on my motorcycle hopefully starts April 2023 I am from Kentucky so I probably jump down to the Carolinas and start there. Thank you and hope to see some more rides from you. I also have a place in Quartzsite Arizona so when I make it out west maybe I see ya somewhere

Thumbs up for this! All of it, very simply stated, is pure artistry. Did you get a chance to visit with Sterling and Eva at the Jonquil in Bisbee? I've watched many of Sterlings videos and he's great with film making as well too...Many more safe journey's to you!
