Suja Mohan frm Bombay I too am an Iyengar.we have been living here since 3generations. When you said Masale Bhath i was reminded of one which Maharashtrian Brahmins serve at weddings. I make it very often.it is a one pot meal with very simple ings. Wash rice in water nd remove the water nd keep it aside.chop Kovakkai lengthwise nd some peas. No other veg will tadte good. In a cooker take a little extra oil.on heating add rai dlit green chillies lengthwise(3nos) hing chilli pd haldi nd add the vegs nd saute for some time add 1sambar karandi curds nd salt. There is a masala called Goda Masala which is available here but you can make it at home too Take 3-4clove 1small stick cinnamon 2tbsps dhania 1tbsp jeera nd dry roast it .make a pd. Add it to the veg mix (about 2-3tbsps). Then add rice .Saute well.Adjust water salt accordingly. Add a few drops of lemon juice nd ghee to get separate grains if rice(Basmati) Give 1to one nd a half whistles Garnish with grated coconut Kothamalli jd lime juice Serve with pappad nd pacchadiTastes very good nd yummy. No onions needed either Rakesh nd Maami do try it out I run my own Catering Business I give this on the days that i serve Mini Meals
Actually since we live in a very Cosmopolitan place there is a mixture of cuisine in our food which we quite enjoy as well as our families. Sometimes we are almost like our Northindian counterparts making Alu Paranthas nd diff typed of Stuffed Parathas to be had with pickles Murrabbas nd thick curds. The quality of curds is very good here especially buffalo milk We come every year to Perambur since my inlaws live there. This year missing those things. Hope things will return to normalcy
Miss Woodlands drive-in so much. Lovely memories of the place... With family and friends...Channa bhatura, masal dosai & their rasa vadai were my favorites 😀
Took us back in Time to our childhood days when a visit to Drive- in restaurant was a must on Sundays. Pattani bath , as it was called, was indeed very popular!! Delicious recipe!!
That’s an amazing recipe and thank you so much! So many nostalgic memories of Drive in! We used to come to Madras for summer vacations from Delhi and our first outing used to be to Drive in!! Their legendary Masala Dosa and filter coffee still lingers in our minds! Love your banter.....mother and son! Stay Blessed
Hi rakesh sir, how r u n madam? One request can u kindly increase the audio . I always love ur moms each n every recipe. Some words are not heard properly. Sorry if I'm troubling u.
You r in tamilnadu then y can't you explain in tamil. Give preference to tamil also. All r knowing eng no.doubt .but still certain technical word not all known like tomato blanch and all. Or y can't you say in bilingual. Over meddling with each others talking instead of exact explanation in a clear way not able to follow anything from yr receipie. Sorry to say.
How come you cook Nilagiri Chiken curry being a Brahmin and with lot of tradition being exhibited in your videos .I could hardly believe if your mom is fine with you indulging in non veg stuff.
