- Shimmer was a new feature added to terraria in the 1.4.4 update, and its ended up as one of the most useful features in the game. With shimmer being able to do so much like player upgrades, new movement types, and much more I wanted to go over everything you need to know about shimmer, which is exactly what I do in this video

Shimmered bosses is a MUST HAVE feature.
Id love to see it, but i feel like its alot to ask from relogic, since that means reworking all of the bosses + new art styles
But ive been surprised many times before by relogic, so who knows!
Imagine if shimmering the destroyer causes him to become the mechanical version of the brain of cthulhu

IF YOU THROW UR EMBLEM INTO IT, THE SHIMMER WILL REROLLL THE EMBLEM. IF YOU DROP CORRUPTED ARMOUR IT TURNS INTO THE ANCIENT VARIENT.

You can only get rod of harmony AFTER you have defeated moonlord, just to clear up confusion

Also if you throw explosives ( the ones which are in underground traps) it will break it down into dynamite
Fun fact if you throw any staff from olds one army event npc (i don't remember the name) it will reroll into another staff

I would love an aether variant for hell. I've always thought adding a small variant biome to hell would be cool
Being a slime, the shimmer slime is naturally the best thing you can get from shimmer.
If an armor has an ancient form when thrown in it will become it and cacti turn into pumpkins and vis versa that's all I know

This block is formed whenever a liquid comes in contact with the shimmer

@@BritishTeeth420 can you just build with it? There was a layer of it across the top of the first shimmer lake I ever found...so naturally I assumed they all had that top layer to walk across and have never found another one since lol

Using a gun and shooting shimmer (bows too) bounce the shots, you can get "shimmered" by using a fishing rod.

You can toss ankh sheild ingredients into the shimmer to get the other side of them e.g. the blindfold turns into the pocket mirror

you can alsow trow the jungle armor in the shimer to get the ancient cobalt armor witch is a bit better
You missed putting the escalator in shimmer. It’s one of the most useful items in when you’re first entering hard mode
3:51 it bugs my ocd so much that you put that side one block further than the other lol
I dropped a nights edge trying to get a better amplifier and it’s just sitting at the bottom and I can’t get it back help
i dont all thing that can transform into other stuff but i tossed a bezoar and it truned into a adhesive
You forgot about blocks turning into their old version (iron block and all the ore blocks) or turning into other secret blocks (all the lunar blocks turning into .... i forgot the name but its a new block)

So wait, the arther biome is found in between a jungle and ocean biome? Or at the edge of the ocean biome? You explained it kinda weirdly
No, the shimmer is always (currently) on the jungle side of the world, so not the ice biome side, and will be under the ocean beach, not in between the ocean and the jungle, so if you are on one side of the world with jungle, thats the ocean biome to search under, as there are obviously two ocean biomes you dont want to search both, so only go for the half of the world with jungle
@@nolongermatters4671 It absolutely can be between the ocean and the jungle, not necessarily directly under the beach. Just found mine and it is closer to the jungle than it is to the beach,

That pearl stone brick ( if i not wrong) find pearl stone in hallow and smelt it

I’m playing a not the bees playthrough and I really want to find the shimmer to make an actual cavern town not in the jungle, and I can’t find it at all. Has anyone got any ideas on how to find it? I’ve checked all through the wiki and internet and I can’t find anything, so if it doesn’t spawn then someone please tell me.

shimmer is ALWAYS on the same side of the world as jungle (usually below the beach)

My jungle is like 3 biomes away from ocean
its under the ocean biome on the jungle side of the world. jungle is only relevant because shimmer wont be in the other half of the world with the ice biome
The enemies turn invisible when they touch shimmer? That explains THAT enemy encounter... I thought my game broke, I am a noob in terraria, does shimmer get corrupted? I haven't found the place where it happened and accidentally unlocked hard mode
No shimmer can’t get corrupted, the stone in the aether biome can tho, but this will have no effect on the shimmer itself. Also, you can cleanse the biome with the clentaminator, so don’t worry about it. I gotta ask tho: how did you “accidentally” turn the hard mode on?😂. Cause it’s sounds like you casually defeated the wall of flesh like: yo who’s this guy? Let me kill him real quick. Ah done… wait, what’s happening to my world? 😱
@@vasiledumitrescu9555 I turned hardmode on because I just played the game without even knowing about nothing.
I saw that the achievements tab are in the order of the desired next steps so I followed them, see the queen bee on it and check it online, then I carried on to the next boss, explore, then fight another boss, but as it turns out that another boss was the wall of flesh and upon death it activated hard mode
@@neverstepd7 Don’t worry, corruption and hollow are not even that bad, once you get the clentaminator you can clean up pretty much everything you need easily
@@vasiledumitrescu9555 Yeah, but I had to start another world because my """house""" got corrupted (it was a grassy hole on the ground with a lot of chests, literally less than a provisional house that was eons away of even being a tiny bit functional), and my new world I realized many new things that I didn't knew about

Pretty sure he's just doing it for the videos and it's not his natural voice, but he could at least adjust the audio before releasing it (like lowering the pitch or something)
