Pausing the video to immediately request a video where John teaches us all how to cook vegetables so we like them. This would be an invaluable service.
Roast them in the oven with salt and oil (and any seasonings you like, but salt is a requirement). Garlic is also good on almost everything. Add an acid (like lemon juice) when they're done cooking. That's my cheat sheet for tasty veggies at least
There is tremendous power in letting people know you disagree with them politically but refusing to argue about it or shun them. They want the certainty of having an opponent. If you don't give it to them, then they can't have the satisfaction of knowing people who disagree with them are evil and bad.
Omg Allison when he said you're a Tom Cruise fan and you were like "you can't reveal that!!" I felt that so bad, I love him too but wish I didn't and literally only my best friend knows about it 😂
I really enjoy seeing you two talk about your relationship, the challenges and the joys of being together. You both are a good example for what I hope to find someday! ❤
5:20 as an ex-evangelical rightwinger, the embarrassment of discovering that people you respect find your beliefs shockingly unethical is a very effect first step to de-radicalization
I thought the Gamache restrictions would enter the negative influence category. Is Allison starting to enjoy it? Also, no dishwasher? it's the one thing I'm jealous of American households for.
Alison, I LOVE Ray Ramano! His comedic acting in The Big Sick and Somewhere In Queens is so real and grounded. But his dramatic acting in the movie Paddleton? Probably has one of the most intense scenes in cinema history!!! Glad to know you’re a fellow Ramano head 🙃
Soo, in summary, Allison's changes are: 1) she eats healthier now because John cooks well. 2) she's less reactionary, which saves John from being embarrassed (which he agrees with). 3) likes "I Think you Should Leave Now". 4) says her writing is improving because John said she could have better command of language, like him 🙄 (even though Allison has written several popular books that help people...) So John is helping by confirming Allison's doubts about her writing? 5) no negative changes comes to mind, except perhaps being less reactionary (i.e. standing up for her opinions) John's changes are: 1) Alison has helped him speak up more & push back on things. 2) Allison has made him less pretentious because being with her is fun and not stuffy (at the same time, he compares her to his exes with more "snooty" taste and apparently he misses that sometimes? Also says Allison's French is like how a French dog would say it? Sounds like he has a way to go to become even less pretentious). 3) John watches more rom coms & likes Martin Short, plus he reads more now. 4) Negatives: appeases Allison's OCD a lot. Hmmm, interesting that he considers that a negative, rather than saying something like, 'I've become more compassionate, understanding, and loving'. Sounds like he was sitting on that awhile. I know this is supposed to be a light video and there was a lot of laughter but I also picked up on some condescending vibes from John. I think Allison has a pretty thick skin because I would feel hurt and annoyed by John's comments
John: "I'm not Gabe Dunn." Spoken like he anticipates a deep, universal disappointment at his performance as the understudy.

When my fiance wakes up I’m going to have this conversation with him what a lovely thing to share with someone how they’ve changed you for the better
I love when you can tell a couple enjoy each others company
“The idea that I have to do work to eat, makes me not want to do it” same Allison. 😂

So I guess we are all your best friends now! ❤

What a lovely couple. Alison used to scream? I didn't realize chain restaurants were so stressful. This guy should be the next governor of California.

John gives Brennan Lee Mulligan vibes in the best way.
I'm a fan of the B team!

Allison you are truly slaying with the new haircut and the button ups!! Hi John! You guys are so cute
Love these moments that reaffirm that I'm indeed an Allison. I also LOVE Tom Cruise and that's kind of a guilty pleasure.
same and the reasoning being “he’s just such a movie star” EXACTLY

My husband has done the same exact thing for me with I Think You Should Leave - we now can't go a single day without quoting it
