    Thank you so much. A few years ago I bought three of the same Logitech webcams for my podcast. It took me months to figure out that was not going to work. Cam link pro seems to be the way to go.

    I'm livestreaming with three cameras using Elgato CamLink 4K capture cards but I had to hack it a little differently than Luria here. I'm on a M1 Mac Mini and although I have an OWC Thunderbolt Dock (thunderbolt4) my computer won't accept the capture card through it. They say it's because the Mini has Thunderbolt 3 in its ports. I have to connect two capture cards directly to the Mac Mini's USB-A ports. And hey - they are then on the same bus as Luria showed here, and saying that Elgato states we might get some issues. No problem here, both cards work flawlessly. Now the third camera is connected through an Atem Mini Pro HDMI switcher which I had in my studio anyway, otherwise I might have bought the CalDigit Th3 dock. So I connect the third camera into the Atem and then from the Atem I run its USB-C cable to the port on the OWC Thunderbolt Dock. Then everything works great. I'm using Ecamm software, an amazing app.

    FWIW, I connected 4 Elgato Camlink 4K capture devices to my Linux PC. The key ingredient was RocketU 1144D card, which is 4 USB controller card. Virtually all 4 port USB cards are just 1 USB controller. The RocketU 1144D card is more expensive cause it's really 4 controllers so each port has its own USB3 bandwidth. Looks like 1144F may be a newer version, but the one I have is 1144D.

    What can be done about multiple capture devices, such as the Cam Link 4K, all having the same name? Is there some way to rename the USB devices so I can tell them apart?

    I want to screen share my 07 macbook pro with video im producting on my new M3 MBP. I have a Magewell Director-Mini for my future podcast, so I need to either get the 07 video out into that when podcasting, or directly into OSB on my new MBP for 'splainer videos, so I need a solution for both options. I assume the Director Mini has internal capture cards for the 2 hdmi input ports. Not sure about the 2 usb ports. I guess I need to atleast make sure what I can convert the video out of the '07 machine to first (?- HDMI cable), and then find a capture dongle that fits a free port on my mbp m3, that also can fit into an open port of the Dir Mini. Or maybe I can just connect the two computers and sgare the screens to each other (riggght, as if that being so easy would work... or would it??). I need the final pizzle pieces, and then its "go live!"

      You can use a capture card to bring one computer into the other and then managing everything using a tool like Streamyard, vMix, Ecamm, etc.

    GREAT Info. There's also another great way of doing it via USB (skipping Elgato all together and using ATEM or AV Matrix or Roland devices). I've found that running an AV Matrix device (though not 4K), produces a cleaner image especially when all of the cams are on the same frame rate of 60FPS. It also uses less resources than stacking multiple elgato capture cards onto different USB controllers.

    • @LiveStreamingPros
      @LiveStreamingPros  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, if you are ok with the trade offs, that's another way to go, for sure!

    • @DJYoshiVideos
      @DJYoshiVideos ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LiveStreamingPros it took me a while to get over the trade off of changing scenes easily by doing cards and having dedicated scenes for each capture card, but it's been awesome to not have to worry about if a bus is going to act up or when those times that the gremlins like throttling the system for no reason which affects my once over-abundance of capture cards and USB devices.

    Ok so I already figured out all of this but I literally don't know how to record using both through the application. Like both are available and working, but it wants me to choose the video input from EITHER my camera (cam link) OR my screen (HD60 S+). I've been searching for an answer but everyone is only talking about getting it set up.

    What if you have multiple "Display adapters" listed in Windows' Device Manager.. how can you force which one to use?
    I'm trying to (mira)cast to a Microsoft 4K Stick.. but it says :
    Wireless Display Supported: No (Graphics Driver: No, Wi-Fi Driver: Yes)
    So I'd to switch from the "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M" driver to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.. or to a USB based video adapter/driver that supports Miracast.

    • @LiveStreamingPros
      @LiveStreamingPros  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The capture cards are not going to show up as display adapter, they're going to show up as input devices or cameras depending on the software that you're using. Display adapters are really your monitors or other things that are using your graphics card.

      Yes, internal cars are an option for PC desktop users. And they can also use these options, as well as laptop users can use these options. So, this particular video is focused on options that would work for anyone. We have discussed the other options in other places.
