Just received my Basstrix Flash Trix 3 inch and Basstrix Mini Trix 2 inch and hooked them onto 3/64 hover rigs. Wasn't too difficult, although the 2 inch Mini Trix may be a little small. The 3 inch looks about perfect!
🍺Nice work Matt🤛. You are currently 2nd place in points👍but only 14 points from being out of the top 8. This year it’s a bit top heavy thus far with consistency amongst a handful of anglers. 🙏 Here’s to staying focused and keeping this good angling train rolling.
I keep picking you Matt to be on my MLF Fantasy team and you have delivered every time. I really hope you have continued success this year so I can see you on the BPT tour next year. Btw- keep up your awesome videos! I have learned so much for you. I definitely need to get on the Hover rig when the water warms up. 👍🏻🙏👏
I've recently been using the Berkley Maxscent Flatnose Jerk Shad and it is lights-out AMAZING on a Hover Rig. I don't know if they're all the same material, because I've only been using the bubblegum pink, but whatever it is, it has such a lifelike action it's amazing. I boiled mine for about 2 to 3 minutes to soften them up even more and they get so much wiggle and twitch that EVERYTHING bites! I've had crappie, sauger, catfish, largies, smallies, spots, and even gar go after them.
Hey all, I haven’t read every comment, but when I have been fishing anything that goes to semi slack line I really like the suffix camo or coastal camo. The stripes give a reference on when a fish takes the line. Maybe great anglers can see it on a single color, but it really helps me especially as a newish angler. Helped me snag some smallies on a fluke/hover rig yesterday. It just kind of floats out in the current.
Hey Matt, I just got my order of your hover rig jigs today. I bought 3 different sizes. Heading to Kentucky Lake for a couple weeks, and can't wait to give them a try!
I got the first batch of Hoover rigs first cast on KVD dream shot caught a bass probably around 2 lb thanks for this rig and I’m ordering some of these baits today 👍🏻👍🏻
Very good looking bait especially on the Hover Rig!!! Hey dont look now but who is that sitting in 2nd place in the standings!!! Great job this weekend Matt, I think your on to something!!!
Matt at my neighborhood dink pond I have caught a few using the Missile Baits Ned Bomb and actually caught a 2-1/2 pounder with it in this pond that I have never caught anything over a pound. That’s why I call it the dink pond but might have to re-name it now thanks to the hover rig
That looks like a great bait to rig up. I'll give that a try as soon as possible. Nice job again today picked up 10 spots good to be consistent with the fish catching
Great finish today, Matt. Keep it up! 🤙🤙 Tour Question: Out of the remaining stops on the tour, what is the lake you’re most excited to fish??? Also, one bait I’m looking to try when I get my hands on the hover rig is the live target ghost tail minnow. Looks like it would work awesome with the tail design.
I recommend trying the 13 Fishing "My Name is Jeff" with it too. I've been using it myself and it looks so realistic live baitfish will come up and swim with it when I vertical jig it off the side of my boat...
Just received email from Core that my Hover Rigs have shipped. Looking forward to trying them on the Berkley hollow belly that Keith Poche used to win the MLF event.
Matt, a lot of the creek fishing we do is in extremely shallow water, 1-2 feet. We'll start with the 3/64 size and Basstrix. How should we attempt to fish them, since gliding won't be much of a tactic?
Nice. I already have seen another content provider do a review on the hover rig! Once it gets in the TH-cam algorithm you really won't be able to keep them in stock 😂
Those look great! Will definitely look to grab some of those baits. To be honest.. I have had a little difficulty rigging some baits on the Hover Rig head. These look like they will be a lot easier to properly "set" on the head.
Note is picking up on my local waters, lake Oroville. Ordered up some hover rigs, because it’s a pond smelt lake. Should make it here before my Thursday ‘doctor’s appointment’ to hit the evening bite. Now I hafta order up some basstrix baits for em. I’ll tell y’all how they do for sure. I suspect they will Outperform my ‘secret weapon’ staysee 80….
What colors would you suggest for the Basstrix for all 3 soft plastics for the hover rig? (I'm waaaay up north in Canada and have no shad in waters, if that helps)
Honestly all of them will work. you dont have shad but you do have cisco, alewife, smelt and various minnows that are all silver in color! i also like ones with a little chartreuse for smallmouth. www.tacklewarehouse.com/Basstrix_Flash_Trix/descpage-BTFT.html?from=MSFG
Hey Matt do you use a medium action spinning rod or do you use a medium - light spinning rod with the hover rig . Thanks for the great video and God bless you and your family.
I think it's just a different version of the Flying Lure. Most people of the current fishing generation haven't heard of the Flying Lure and this might be just a newer version of it.

3 down 3 to go!
Thank you Matt 🙌 what an awesome combo to pair together. Good finish today!
Glad you enjoyed it!
These are a So Cal Staple. Perfect for your Hover Rig
Agreed!

Just used the link and ordered some. Those will be killer for sure on the rig. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome!
21st place at Eufala OK!!! Great finish! Three day total of 41-03! You are really tearing it up this year!
Thanks!
I’ve been catching all kinds of bass with it. Using a hula grub from Yamamoto Docks, lay overs, around rocky banks. Hell yes brother!!
nice!
I was looking at picking these up but wasn’t sold on them, now I am, perfect timing Matt and great finish at Eufaula
Enjoy!
Congratulations on Eufaula tournament!!!
It’s my home lake and wind can get nasty.
Congratulations again
It got ROUGH!
My are being delivered today! Stoked to give them a go

I got the first batch of Hoover rigs first cast on KVD dream shot caught a bass probably around 2 lb thanks for this rig and I’m ordering some of these baits today 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome!
Great finish! Glad that oklahoma wind didn’t get the best of you
it was windy!
I’ve got my Core tackle order sitting at the US border waiting for pick up, can’t wait to try them!
Awesome!
I've been using Basstrix 15 years ago at Castaic lake. Deadly bait when shad around.😊
They are great!
The missle baits quiver is amazing with the hover rig! Give it a try!
I’ll try it! Thanks!
Great video Matt, if you're ever down in Peacock Bass territory those would drive them crazy 👍
That would be cool!
Congrats on another good finish at lake Eufaula. Keep it going! Now we just have to get Chris to have a little bit more luck.
You got that right!
Very good looking bait especially on the Hover Rig!!! Hey dont look now but who is that sitting in 2nd place in the standings!!! Great job this weekend Matt, I think your on to something!!!
3 down 3 to go!
Bought several types over winter but haven’t used yet. Can’t wait to try.
Good luck!
Just bought some of your hover rigs and some Basstrix lures to fish on creeks here in west central Indiana with my grandson!!
awesome!

Yes!
That looks like a great bait to rig up. I'll give that a try as soon as possible. Nice job again today picked up 10 spots good to be consistent with the fish catching
Thanks!
The hover shot rig worked amazingly for me on my last fishing trip. I used 3-4 inch Gulp Minnow and it produced size and numbers of smallmouth!
awesome!
Great finish today! See that your 2nd overall!
Thanks!
I can't keep the crappie off it. I'm loving the fluke. Thanks Matt Great job this week. Let's keep it going!
You bet!
And the Bobby Garland Baby Shad, this combo is going to be killer.
ohhh im going to try that!
@@MattStefanFishing It's a tight fit lol
Congratulations on your tournament finish Matt. This bait look great on you Hover rig, thanks!
thanks!
Never heard of the basstrix, I’m gonna need to find em!
Link is in the video description
@@MattStefanFishing Thanks!
21st almost another top 20 you're off to a great start. Congrats👍👍👍👍👍
So close!
Big foot has been sighted, love your channel
Big thanks
Great finish today, Matt. Keep it up! 🤙🤙

Mississippi River!
Matt you have to try the Yamamoto Fat Ika on a hover rig! It's crazy how awesome it is, you will be blown away
i will!
Hey Glock, did you rig that backwards or forwards with the Yamo Fat Ika/ Yamo Ika?
Thanks, just stocked up!!
awesome!
Got the basstrix and hover rig today, another good bait ifor the hover rig is the Missile baits Ned bomb.
awesome!
I recommend trying the 13 Fishing "My Name is Jeff" with it too. I've been using it myself and it looks so realistic live baitfish will come up and swim with it when I vertical jig it off the side of my boat...
ill check it out
Just received email from Core that my Hover Rigs have shipped. Looking forward to trying them on the Berkley hollow belly that Keith Poche used to win the MLF event.

Have you tried the flash trix on the finesse tush? Love that hook!
Not yet
Those will work on speckle trout too here
For sure!

let it go to the bottom and give it one quick wrist pop and it will dart off the bottom!
Really a good looking rig , super nice
Thanks 👍

rigging is the only thing that can be frustrating with it but practice makes perfect!
Timely. I purchased a couple hover rigs this morning. You typically use the 1/0 more than the 3/0 hook? Can’t wait to try it out.
Awesome!
Is there going to be heavier sizes I think it may work for ice fishing for lake trout and take the place of the tube jig😊
Coming soon

Matt,
What size rod/action are you using with the new cover shot rig? 1/0 and 3/0? Thanks
that was a 7'3" MH
Hey Matt do you use a medium action spinning rod or do you use a medium - light spinning rod with the hover rig . Thanks for the great video and God bless you and your family.
I use both
@@MattStefanFishing hey Matt thanks for the reply appreciate that.
Please do a demo using that rapala jerk bait you have on the wall. Can I use 4lb line.
haha you got it!
Thanks for the info!
You bet!
Basstrix is a great bed fishing bait, which still holds true til this day. Drop shot it on the bed and wait for it. Bruce Porter is a great dude!
basstrix makes great baits!
Thank you Matt.
Is someone spamming on your comments?
yes
Watch out perch &crappie here I come.Super great idea🎉
yep!
I been using the smaller size Deps Bull Flat. Falls similar to a flutter spoon.
awesome!
The 2 baits i see really shining on that rig a beaver and a minow
Both work great!
I've been using it with the Angling AI little stinger
sounds good!
Thanks!
You bet!
I found something else that works well on the 3/64 oz. hover rig. ZMan Baby Goat mounted vertically....
nice
Ive really like the 6 sense juggle so far
Thanks for sharing!
Matt, throw the flashtrix unweighted during shad spawn and schoolers. Dance it on the top and hold on
Awesome!
That looks killer!
giove it a try!
Any plans on making a heavier version of the hover jig?
yep should be out in a few weeks
How is the durability? I have some hollowbodies that I have a hard time rigging well.
Won’t find a more durable rigging than on the hover rig
What is the heaviest weight do the make the hover rig in? What size hook?
At the moment 1/8 oz on a 3/0 hook
@@MattStefanFishing thank you
Well did ya weigh in 50lbs today? I know you have other stuff to do first. 😁 The live trix looks like it's made for the hover rig, I like it.
Moved up to 21st
@@MattStefanFishing
Nice!
Can we get a in the water look??
noted
I think it's just a different version of the Flying Lure. Most people of the current fishing generation haven't heard of the Flying Lure and this might be just a newer version of it.
Kinda similar but you can rig this in any soft plastic
How the heck do you rig that to allow the weed gard to come out?
he has a video on how to rig it
Start a 1/4” behind the head and then pull the nose over the hover rig nose cone
More lures that would be absolutely killer in the saltwater for a bunch of species.
Agreed!
Please show how to rig
will do!
Cool
Thanks!
Tiny fluke to. It will catch everything
awesome!
Looking like a hook up baits
thanks for watching!
👍👍👍
thanks for watching!
Street Fighter: "PERFECT!"
Awesome!
Pay Matt comment
thanks!
Too expensive
they are pricey but they work great!
