I wanna guess this game was made by the same people who made the world is not enough the Wolfram p2k and the TMP had some of the meanest sounds. if i had to guess the people who made this game were inspired hardcore by counterstrike which btw the gun sounds in that sounded like they were underwater at the time.
Fun fact with the guns. If you held the fire button (R1 on playstation 2) in when you were on your last round The guns chamber (for example the pistols) would remain open and the reload animation would not activate until you let go of the fire button. Nice little attention to detail that the gun knows when its empty.
There's also some unused weapons in the game that are only accessible through cheats (e.g. Torpedo Launcher). Also doesn't Oddjob's Hat count as a throwable?
Since you did variant weapons you forgot the type 80 pistol. It’s just a full auto type 40 that’s an extremely rare drop in random mode and also in the exchange on completed files I believe
4:51 fun fact: this is the only known game that you can switch action modes for the SPAS on the fly in between gas operated (it was supposed to be semi, but its firerate is so slow that you could pretend as if it were firing in semi) and pump action. No other games could do that as game devs would choose whether their SPAS depicted in game is firing in semi or pump action for the sake of balancing/variety. The only oversight is the way you change those modes. In game, you do it as you would on a regular gun that has fire selector near the trigger. But in reality, you switch between actions for the SPAS by holding down the button and move the pump hand forward for gas operated or backward for pump action.
Nice attention to detail at 3:00 and beyond with that SMG. The character uses it one handed in semi auto but uses it two handed in full auto. Might not be realistic to some but I think its a cool detail.

Is it me or does this game is too inspired by the Perfect Dark weapons? This was the second FPS i played after Perfect Dark and it felt the same since it had double features on guns.
Friends would come over and Id put the cheats in so we'd have all characters and guns then we'd play ctf against bots it was actually super fun. I miss having a GameCube, where being social played a huge part in the fun
Willy Conka the real demanding thing would not only be to redo it on a lighter background(s), but to also do it in single player because for some reason the multiplayer guns don’t have the bullet casings ejecting from the gun
i still wanna know why they put a laser sight on the p2k at the last minute. it's a small, stupid detail that probably doesn't matter to anyone but me but i think the p2k model looks better without the laser sight
I remember setting up big TDM matches against AI on the Alpine map and arming everyone with snipers, I'd like to go into the tower by walking along the cable car wires and sniping the enemy AI.
This game was the entirety of my childhood FPS experience. The AIM20 grenade and tactical sniper firing sounds are so delightfully distinct I did not recall some of these animations being nearly as excessive with their showing of recoil lol, but decent work for their day
Some of these sound a lot better in the ps2 version, but it’s way laggier, lower graphic quality, and the load times are abysmal. I wish I had a game cube.

@@ankor1066 No only PC version has the same engine as CS 1.6 (gold source) because it was made by Gearbox which they had access to the engine since they helped Valve make Half Life expansions. The console version is by EA games and uses a completely different engine.

I LOVED standing on the roof of the building in the ski/snow level, firing guided Sentinel rockets at my opponents.

Good to see a select-fire SPAS-12. This is the only game I've seen with it.
True, even in games like BF4, which lets you change fire-modes for certain guns, the SPAS-12 is always one OR the other.

Love that Kowloon Type 40. It’s based on a Glock 17 which is my pistol in real life. Awesome 😎
My favorite guns were the sentinel rocket launcher, covert sniper, and the auto 12 shotgun.
