    Hello guys, educative video it is. So if my husband is 40 now, does it mean we can't have separate savings this way?
    Or is there another opportunity to have same or similar approach?

  • @schenwig
    @schenwig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You can actually save more than £4000 a year into your ISA. But you only get 25% government bonus on the first £4000 which is a max of £1000. My first ISA was £15000 and it was £16143 by the end of the tax year.

    • @TochiEsther
      @TochiEsther  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We discussed only lifetime ISA, not ISA in general. Perhaps you misunderstood the context
      Everyone has a 20k ISA allowance but lifetime ISA has its peculiar conditions.

    Greetings Tochi. This video is very useful but I need more light on it. If I have understood you well, does it mean we have to save £4000 in a tax year which starts every April. If I have to save £4000 now before April, will I get the £1000 interest or I have to wait for a full task year to have that interest rate

      I dont think so. Its stated that 4k is what you have to save for each year. These people do not bend rules. Wait till d next year to save another,or better still ..open for you and your husband/wife to get the extra 1k..😄😄

    That's was quite an amazing collective power of saving. Raising 16k in one in this country is not easy. Kudos to both of you. The 40 years age tag restriction to the ISA account is a barrier here

    I've wondered about this ISA account, thank you so much for breaking it down this way!
    I need a bit a clarity, please;
    If I have 35'000 in the ISA account and the down payment for the mortgage is 20'000.
    Will I have to use all the savings as down payment (to reduce the interest rate, perhaps)? Is this a must?
    Or will/ can the solicitor give me what's left after paying the 20'000 down payment?
    Will the solicitor see to it that it is used for the house e.g furniture? flooring? And be he/ she be the one to pay the various contractors?
    Thank you!
    xoxo.

    Hi Tochi, Thanks for your usual support. My question about lifetime ISA is that can I have more than one lifetime ISA account? Is it a must I withdraw the money after the end of a tax year? For instance, if after the tax year, I want to continue saving, can I open another ISA account while I still have my money in another account? I hope am explicit enough. I look forward to your response. Thanks.
