    • @YukiMoonlight
      @YukiMoonlight 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

COMMON SUPERMARKET BAKERY GOODS have the disadvantage to come from a big FACTORY using mass production methods and sometimes " questionable " production methods. That is not different from other places in the worlld but you have to be aware of that the Quality Standards are not as high as in a, more expensive, traditional working KONDITOREI or BAKERY
A German Bakery offers in general all kinds of bread and more common pastries - A KONDITOREI is specialised on more sophisticated pasties and CAKES! especially Also the training of a BAKER and a KONDITOR differs in this point

There was a program on ZDF about the pre-baked goods. Most of it comes from huge factories in Poland, otherwise you can't even reach the low prices. There is so much stuff mixed up in the baking mixes that the German food inspectors cannot even determine it. They have given up determining the ingredients and only evaluate the products based on taste. I don't like these products because I always get an aftertaste from the chemicals.

When I used to live in Italy I would always go there for croissants, as a student they were cheap and much better, for the price of one croissant in a bar I would go home with 3 from LIDL and have 3 breakfast at home instead of spending too much on eating out. Now I live in Copenhagen and my favorite here is the Apple Triangle. Fun Fact 1 : all the products are frozen and baked fresh everyday or defrosted (in the case of donuts). Fun Fact 2 : Pastry is always better given 3-4 minutes on broil the low rack of the oven...where it gets toasty and warm.

Grocery´s bakery sections are selling not the best bakery items..their items are ok but nevertheless just mediocre on the lower level, simply because they are not "fresh made" because those are all industrial pre-produce + including chemical stuff to make it durable but just daily "fresh crisped up" that´s why those items are a bit cheaper...although bigger bakery chains also use industrial pre-produce but usually from their own production with own recipes and those things don´t need that much chemical stuff because the lasting time to sell it is way shorter than in Groceries who buy in big margines and then stockpile till the use..
When you have the choice then go to the local bakery for those items especially when it is a small family business with own production, those have usually the good stuff...
Nowadays especially in bigger cities you have to bake your bread by yourself to be sure that there are just those things in the bread which should be...it´s no witchcraft it is actually pretty easy when you know what to do..

Hi, at first thanks for showing how the bread slicer works. I allways want to try out, but never did it.
I don't like the bakery items at the discouters. They are not bad and if i am really hungry its okay. You have to eat it at the same day or you have to toast it the next day. Diesbezüglich bin ich einfach sehr mäkelig.
If I want rolls, it have to be DDR Brötchen, its a special receipt and not many bakerys offer this kind of rolls. And of course they only avaiable in eastern parts of Germany.

16:40 toppings are a ... sensitive subject for me ^^ because I have "rules" in regards of toppings. For example, normal cheese bread rolls go with ham, poppy seed bread rolls upper side go with cheese specifically Emmentaler or Maasdamer, Ciabatta goes with prosciutto (San Daniele or Parma), pretzel rolls/Laugenbrötchen "require" either Mortadella, bavarian Weißwurst or Camembert. But not Brie because that is reserved for fresh baguettes. ^^ And so on and so forth. And yes, my friends think I'm crazy but that's just the way I like it. ^^

There is usually in every store (not just Lidl) a seperate bakery store.
Those are not much more expensive but WAY better.
Not to say the in-store patrey is bad, but on a scale I'd say in-store pastry: 3-5/10 (depending on the store)
The seperate bakery pastry: 7-9/10 (again depending on the bakery brand)

Here in Denmark where I live, there are virtually no 'real' bakeries left, so in my opinion is the bread from Aldi better than Lidl's, and pretty much as good as what you can buy at 'real' bakers .

All the donut stuff comes frozen to the store and just gets defrosted and put in the shelves. There are some other sweet items I think that are frozen aswell, the other stuff comes cooled and gets baked in the morning, if you kick in the door at 7 they sometimes still have this "baking carts" out they use, dunno if its actually an oven or more like a heat preserving thing.

The older Generation like myself remembers what good bread and fine pastries should taste like. I am German and in 1960/70 we had very fine Bakeries and Cafes. I was born 1951 in Nürnberg and the Wiener Spezialitaeten Cafe on Kaiserstrasse (it was a big wonderful place) had amazing items you can never compare with any Aldi, Lidl or any Donut. I live for many years in Toronto, Canada...terrible things full off sugar that people believe is good since they never tasted anything else. I know that Karstadt in Downtown Nuernberg and Munich has good bread and Kuchen etc. Best Brezen by "Brezen Kolb" in the morning with Butter. Oh my God...I get homesick.
But driving to Montreal... you find some fine French croissant and pastries.

Arrgghhh... you can't compare a plain croissant without any jam and/or butter to a ham & cheese croissant... how dare you... 😡😟
The "Wienerle" Croissant (with a sausage in it) and the "Hüttensnack" (with lots of caraway seeds on top) are my favorite lunch time snacks.
Btw: there's no such thing like hearty filled croissants in France. The only croisaant-like shaped and filled pastry is the "croissant aux almonds" with a marzipan like filling called "Frangipane" in french. Although you'll find a lot of hearty items with puff pastry in french bakeries, they come in other shapes like "friand au viande", "friand saucisse", "roulé fromage", etc. Even the in Germany called "Schoko-Croissant" is originally in France a pillow shaped "petit pain au chocolat" (little chocolate bread). 😉

Delivered pre-baked goods for self-baking is a strongly represented type of company in Germany. These French chaise bakeries now produce pre-made baked goods. There are only a few real bakeries left in Germany. Everything is only delivered frozen and baked by sellers by itselfe. The bakery trade in Germany is dying out. Not even 10% of German bakers still bake themselves. German bakery will soon become a myth... @(-,-)@

yo guys, you should always put these bakery things in the oven on 180 or 200 degrees celcius, just for three minutes or so, This way it taste WAY BETTER. Specially when you buy it like you two did, and then wait untill the next morning before eating it. For example , we here in the Netherlands have croissants with ham & cheese inside. If you eat them cold it doesnt taste very good at all, but if you put it in the oven for a couple of minutes, the outside will be crunchy while the cheese inside will be melted and the ham will be warm/hot and taste way better.
