Just a tipp...don´t use plastic bags for bread...not only because of the enviroment ..but fresh bread becomes mouldy in plastic...unless the bread was bagged in plastic in the first place sold in plastic because that bread (which isn´t "fresh bread") is chemical prepared to avoid mould....just saying.

The Geflügelrolle is my favorite! I love the puff-pastry-like outer crust and the inside is close to the dutch "frikandel", heavily overseasoned so you don't get the strange meat-or-whatever-taste.
That one I heat up for 20 min. by 160 degrees C. in the oven...a quick lettuce-tomato-salade as side and ready is the lunch.

I like to throw bread in a pan, and occasionally I do toast bread in a toaster.
    I am german.
The really good bread from a good bakery shouldn't be out in a toaster, but we do make them in a pan or sandwich maker for more sandwich variety.
Also the sausage and pizza things aren't particularly liked usually, mostly they're eaten when you have no time for lunch, not even a microwave one.

I did toast any type of bread. Not always but most times. I like that the break is warm then, stuff melts on it, it's easier to spread things on it and it gives you a little crunch. I'd recommend

Exactly! A good fresh bread from the bakery, maybe even still warm, is the best. You can just eat it without even putting something on it. Just a plain slice of bread. And it's so tasty.Toasting would just ruin the "fresh" consistency. When it's a few days old it's ok to toast though. And "Toastbrot" from the supermarket is only decently good when toasted.

Hello, I'm from the south of Germany (South Hessen), so we have ALDI South. We have a "Quarktasche" which I really like. (Well I like most baked goods with Quark). It has a fresh, slightly tingy taste (like Quark does), but it is kind of heavy and you are packed full after one xD And sometimes (not everywhere) You can find this "Börekstange Spinat Feta". It's quite tasty, especially if you are lucky to get it when it's still warm. (You can still eat it when it's cold. It's just better when eaten warm). This one is a bit fatty (staining the bag definitely), but it's tasty.
Normally I only Toast Toastbrot, except for when I have some frozen bread (I live alone, so when I get a big bread, I freeze the slices in small portions, like 4-5 slices). And to thaw them (when you forgot to thaw it over night), I would put it in the Toaster

Aldi, Lidl, Rewe, Edeka bakeries are superb, and sooo reasonably priced. We have Walmart, Smiths, Raley’s etc and they are much more expensive, don’t taste as good. I need to travel to Germany again - soon. Get vaccinating!!!!

Hi Deana and Phil, thanks for the entertaining Video. I'm German and I never toasted a "normal" bread. We only use our Toaster for Toastbrot 😅 however I'll try to toast other bread as well 🤗

love the pretzels from aldi, if they're not perfectly fresh a short toast does wonders
edit: ha! and now your discussion about toasting comes in ^^
yes i toast pretty much everything that makes sense and sometimes i don't just for a change

@@DeanaandPhil we have diffrent Typen of bread and since a few weeks we have Spinatstrudel, Käsekreiner im Brotmantel, Pizzaschiffe with ham or Salami, Kärtner Zuckerreinkerl and so on and on. It also depends where you are in Austria, because they sometimes have diffrent, reginal bakery items.

Quarkbaellchen!!!! I miss them so much. Why on earth are they not available everywhere?! In Wuppertal there is a street market that sells something similar but upon googling I think they're actually called Rheinische Krapfen. Freshly made they're just as good as Quarkbaellchen.

Honestly, just from a visual appetizing point of view. These baked goods all look better than the Lidl ones ( except for that chicken wienner ) Deana is right, that type of dough is not a doughnut dough. It is heavier and more bread like than a North American Donughnut
