- The original PAYDAY: The Heist secret, or the First World Bank secret (also available in PAYDAY 2, of course). Can you do it in stealth? It is widely known that one of the pre-requisites to trigger the beeping noise and the red flashing light is for the heist to have gone loud. If you try to get into position while the heist is in stealth, nothing will ever happen.
However, recently someone sent me a link to a privately shared guide which claimed there was a setup to start the OVERDRILL in stealth. Considering the amount of unique visitors and positive ratings the guide had, I absolutely had to check this out...

2:52 Dyrax is honestly a champion. Runs into probably the most dangerous room in FWB stealth to answer the pager to try and salvage whatever was left of the run and was almost successful.
Haha yup, I can't believe he almost got away with it! We were all sure that run was over already, but then we had a very nice "unless..." moment :p

I was initially suspicious at first with the whole manager thing and the fact that this hadn't been discovered yet, but once they were like "you can kill the manager but then its only a 10% chance of triggering the overdrill" with no elaboration I decided to check the date. Still a worthwhile watch though haha

@@LuizCarlos-my1wr Sorry about that Luiz! If this makes it any better, the effort in all those attempts trying to move the manager into the vault were all real. We suffered so much with all those fails, that we had to come up with a Plan B, and pretend you could just move his bagged corpse instead :p

little know fact, if you drive a golf cart into the drill door they will open instantly and this can even be done solo, very cool mechanic and it's how I did the achievement, since I have no friends

Nice! I've also witnessed the Hidden Golf Cart in Vault strategy, but from what I hear it only works on April 1st!
@@Marcmb The golf cart only properly spawns during April first, but it's actually normally stationed out of bounds and if you manage to glitch money bag out of bounds in just the right spot, it will hit the golf cart and glitch it back in bounds.
So it's a little bit more complicated, but doable.

@@Marcmb i realized it was a joke when you got out of the camera room and saw the guard with a vest alive.
there was only 1 guard with a vest, and you got him on the stair case, i didnt fall for that one.
Honestly, if we COULD stealth Overdrill, I think loot extraction would be one of the more interesting parts of the mission, if you wanted to hold yourself to stealth. Granted, at that point if you go Loud, finish the mission, no sense waiting out 30 minutes doing nothing repeatedly, we already do that enough in Stealth, but it would still be fun to see how much you can remove before the jig's up, then see how much more you can nab before it starts getting too hot

That's a good point maxhay! A stealth heist designed around moving lots of heavy bags through a populated area (perhaps with endless loot, and endlessly respawning guards and civs) could be really cool.
Although for this heist in particular, as *@skell* pointed out, there's always the option of throwing the loot down the vent, which drops it right next to the escape truck :(
@@Marcmb And Overdrill has too many bags in it for experience to be fun so its just gonna be annoying and boring

I hope Payday 3 has a genuinely stealthable overdrill.
That would be nice! If they actually design a very long drill / hack / timelock with stealth in mind, they can probably have multiple guards patrolling, and objectives that have you going from one place to another while waiting. It could be neat!
fun fact: there is a custom map that is first world bank that allows you to do overdrill in stealth and solo. Rep tho you did it in loud and edited it out

its very interesting, overdrill full-stealth :D I'd tried a half-stealth overdrill months ago which the gun turret stuck trick'd been used n its pretty useful :D although i'm not gonna try overdrill again but your guide sure broaden my horizon :D

@@tongliaomacoutes Stealth overdrill isn't possible, the video is just an april fools video using the stealth overdrill mod which is pretty much cheating hence why they terminated later.
I know it's edited but I can't actually imagine a stealth Overdrill. Just too much fun fighting for your lives waiting on that long ass drill. It's a heister's rite of passage

Did this exact heist one time almost completely stealthily(according to the game), until one of the NPCs decided to walk through the floor like there were stairs there and completely ruined it.
Hey redacted! That happens unfortunately, yeah... The reason why this happens is because the animation for the insider to walk from the vault gates to the escape door is actually looped: if you take too long to go to her, she goes back to the vault gates (but she does that by following the shortest line between the two points, which means phasing through the floor), but she will come back shortly after :(
It's very confusing, but if you just wait at the door for a bit longer, she'll be back eventually! (she walks very slowly)
@Marcmb this was years ago but we ended up just completing it like that anyway, too many attempts in to start over.

Exactly yeah! That's the main reason why I have (personally) never liked those heists. Waiting 6 minutes for a drill, with nothing to do, is so boring and unoriginal!

It was an interesting challenge for sure yup! Especially without killing the patrolling guards. Something always went wrong at the end though, so we had to settle for making up a different step 1b :(

Is this fake?
1. It was uploaded on April Fools.
2. After he „double-checks” the guide, the objective changed to „Enter the bank” which suggests that he started a new, most likely modded run where he tp’d himself to the vault area upon starting (the “enter the bank” objective only completes when you enter the pre-vault area, so if you somehow went from outside directly to the vault area, the objective would not complete, which seems to be the case here)
3. These steps are very random: for example, the game does not save tags for a body bag, so it “forgets” who was in the body bag when you bag it, so it wouldn’t be able to tell apart the manager’s bag between any other NPC bagged. Another example: place 2 body bags on the cams in the vault area. This sounds like the most random thing ever, considering that what do body bags have to do with the Overdrill?

That is correct yup, every single step is random and the video is an April Fools upload :p
Furthermore as you can see at 12:30, the whole thing is done in loud, I just hid all obvious elements like the gunshots SFX, heist timer, assault banner, damage taken... through editing to make it "seem" like this was stealth!
My Irish ancestors are rolling in their grave knowing they could've stealthed the gold heists.
Maybe one day we'll get a Fort Knox heist that can actually be done full stealth - that would be so neat!

Console always gets a nice advantage when it comes to these things yup :( It's sad that it never gets updates, but for example things like Counterfeit stealth printing still work, because of that...

Definitely yup! For example Big Bank, which you can ECM rush in just over 6 minutes, has a base XP reward of up to 75,000 - which equates to 5,454,000 XP with a full crew! In just 6 minutes :D

I found a way to do the overdrill "stealthily" via the no cop spawn mod. It works great.. until you get in to the "undervault" which has atleast 3 dozers on DS and you are forced to do the heist solo so carrying the 84 bags is pure torture. Though it's far behind from this method!
Huh, interesting! I wouldn't expect the dozers to still spawn when using no spawn mods. Cool info!
@@Marcmb Yeah the mod only removes the spawning ones not the scripted ones so all the guards and scripted "ambushes" are still there.

Not only is Dyrax's loadout changing, but he's a different heister altogether! You can see his Infamy level changes too, I just renamed him to "Dyrax" using the Steam nickname system :p
As for the cuts, the video is full of them! Because I teased a short scene at 12:30 showing that this is actually all loud gameplay, just edited to make it seem like it's stealth!

At 12:30 you can see a sneak peek (2s clip) of how this was actually done: this "stealth run" is actually regular loud gameplay, but edited with cuts and overlays, to make it look like stealth :D (also all SFX removed, and added manually during editing, because otherwise the gunfire would be too obvious!)
The only thing that will keep me sane during thing is dallas going "AAAAH I NEEED A MEDICK BAG"
This is actually a pretty good April Fool's, had me going until you needed to put body bags into specific spots for some reason.

I was fooled by this for 8 months... Atleast i didn't try it.. Figured it for sure by looking in the comment section and if i had thought more about it then i would have noticed it from the steam guide's author.

This is some straight up rumor mill ass Mew-under-the-truck type shit.
i knew the video was not real due to the fact that Overdrill forces combat after starting the drill. you can stealth all away up to starting the drill but after that its all combat.. now if you used a mod then it would be 100% real seem you can mod it so Overdrill can be done Stealth. then in the base game if i remember there's a glitch you can do to stop enemies from spawning in after combat starts seem i used that everytime but its been a very long time since i have played.
