  • Presbytera Irene Matta MTh, a former Roman Catholic novice with the Jesuits, and knows their philosophy well, presents information about the Palamite Council which entails the contrasts between the Eastern Orthodox Archbishop St Gregory Palamas and his encounter with the Latinist Barlaam of Calabria who had no understanding of the Energies of God. These energies transform the person, especially as present in the Risen Christ with the Holy Eucharist of Divine Liturgy. (Please visit our TH-cam channel "Eastern Orthodox Christianity in America" for all of our videos.). The Palamite Council pondered these things, and the result is that we have more understanding about the participation that Christians enjoy in the Life and Healing of our Lord Jesus Christ, in prayer and in receiving the Holy Eucharist with all the Mysteries of the Holy Orthodox Faith. Please contact us at Orthodox Mission, POBox 2395 Santa Maria CA 93457 for free information and times of classes on Baptism: Entering the Orthodox Faith.

Yes, we have an Orthodox Information center in Santa Maria CA ; I have a book (spiral bound) of "Orthodox Response to Gnostic Charismatic Heresies" - it includes my Master's thesis "Born-Again Jesus of Word-Faith Teachings" and the addition of the Orthodox answers to these heresies. Especially important was the "seismic"power of the Descent of Christ into Hades, completely missing in the understanding of the leading of the OT saints into newly-opened Paradise. We have an "obedience" to spread the Orthodox Faith from our Exarch Archbishop from Jerusalem, and we are encouraged in this by your own comments. Thank you and God keep you close to Him in all your ways! M. Irene with Fr James' blessing

Please feel free to request information - most provided without cost - from Orthodox Christian Mission (805) 361-0433 or write the request to PO Box 2395 Santa Maria 93457. We recommend the Orthodox New Testament with commentaries from our Fathers (not Augustine by the way) at www.holyapostlesconvent.org. There are two volumes: Gospels and Epistles, with extensive quotes after each chapter from the major fathers of our Faith. With prayer, M Irene

"Orthodox Response to Gnostic Charismatic Heresies" available for $15 from our ministry at Orthodox Christian Mission POBox 2395 Santa Maria CA 93455 detailing the Gnostic incursions into all of our Christian Churches. Toll-Houses are the devilish diversion in some jurisdictions of Orthodoxy - replacing Christ as our Judge after death with a demonic "judgement". As we hear in St John Chrysostom's Sermon read aloud every Easter "...Christ is Risen, the Demons are fallen.."!! Some evidently don't hear very well! However, we're working on making it disappear with God's help!
