Damn, y'all came for the country reaction yet seem to be hellbent on driving her away from doing so again. Nothing makes a person want to continue exploring a new genre more than fans of that genre shaming the person for not reacting in a way that sufficiently strokes their clearly fragile egos 🙄 And if y'all truly believe her normal choice in music is as repugnant and damaging as you seem to indicate, what does that say about yourselves so appalled by the content yet so unbothered when your own actions make someone more likely to continue consuming it? I grew up listening to rap but also developed a great appreciation for artists like George Jones because of my father. And despite being a lifelong fan of rap music, about a decade ago I quit listening to it entirely as the genre was quickly devolving into a medium I was no longer comfortable filling my mind with. And my goodness if it hasn't only gotten sickeningly worse since then. Although I will say the degeneracy has created a pendulum where newer rappers have started emerging and creating a lane that wouldn't exist if not for an entire genre worthy of rebelling against. So thanks for even reacting to George Jones in the first place. I watched your Randy Travis reaction as well, amazing song. Of which I'll ask something that I found myself asking quite a bit and only helped to clarify my thoughts. And if only rhetorically, how do you feel after listening to the Randy Travis song as opposed to after listening to, say, taunting dead opps or gyrating with Lucifer? Degeneracy has become so normal that it desensitizes the listener from what otherwise would be readily apparent. God bless.
Out of all the country songs I have reacted to Randy Travis has been my favorite. Mostly because I didn’t expect him to be the prostitutes son. I will admit reacting to country has made me inherently not want to curse while listening and doesn’t fill my mind with as much negative content as drill. However I do believe some rap outside of drill does have positive influence. My friend really likes this one Christian rapper called Lecrae.
You can't read the scroll and listen to the song at the same time. You miss the meaning of the song which is he would love her until he died and that is why he stopped loving her.
He loved her till he died. Then "He finally stopped loving her" after all the years of never forgetting her. Only his death ended his pain. George is not singing about himself. It's the ultimate love song. What you were reading was just a biography of George as part of the listen.
You keep listening to George and he will touch your heart. He tells stories like no other. Ignore the messages that pop up the first time and listen to the song. Then replay it and read. Hang in there, you get the feel for it!
Country music is known for its storytelling. You have to listen closely to the lyrics, because they dont always mean exactly whats being said...at least not in the context you expect. I love to see young people trying new things with an open mind. You do a good job trying to reason out the meaning of songs that were written long before you were even born, and come from a different culture than you grew up in. I think perhaps thats the reason why you missed what this song was saying. In the South, when someone died, they used to place a black wreath on the front door. They dressed you in your "Sunday Best" clothes for the funeral, then the pallbearers carried you away to the hearse afterwards. The first line of the song is " He said I'll love you til I die". He meant it. Dont give up. Country music has 100 years worth of music to learn about. Some is happy, some sad, some funny, but always real. You may enjoy some of todays country a little more than the classics because the oldies talk about a lot of things that you just dont see much of anymore, so can be confusing if you havent grown up with the culture. As far as other genres go, just like country, they all have the good and the bad. Myself, I enjoy a bit of them all. My grandkids tell me my playlists are weird 🤣 some country, hip hop, metal, rap, southern rock, etc...I listen to what I like and 🖕 the haters! 😜 Keep doing you girl, and dont let people get you down.
SHOUT OUT to your grandkids !! And your comments has encouraged me to continue reacting to this genre. Sadly I am from the south and you are right I completely missed the meaning of the song. I wasn’t aware that was a custom in the south to put a black wreath on the front door when someone died.
The wreath is something that fell out of style long ago. I believe he may have recorded this song in the 50-60's, but am not 100% sure on that. I just know it was already a classic by the time I was a teen in the 80's. Etiquette and tradition were a lot more prevalent back then than today, so I can totally see how a young person could miss the cues in the song. I'm not sure what reactions you have already done, as I just came across your channel today. I would recommend Shania Twain, Martina McBride, and Carrie Underwood as good artists to start with. They are all strong vocalists, and some of the more recent leading ladies of country music. Randy Travis is wonderful, and you can't miss King George (George Strait). Alan Jackson is also a modern day legend. For groups, try Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band, and Lady Antebellum. If you want your subs to grow, react to ANYTHING by Home Free. They are crazy talented, and have a ferociously loyal following. If you play it, they will come....the Home Fries will descend on your channel and fill your chats/comment section. @@Keeba7790 This song was released in April 1980 as I mentioned above. I remember it well and like I also mentioned it hit #1 and was named in several surveys as the greatest country song of all time. I know George had some big hits in the 50's and 60's but this one got him back in the limelight again.
This video unfortunately is just a bio about George Jones but not related to the song. I beleive this bio was put together after George died. The song was undoubtedly George's most famous. Most younger people don't understand the old tradition of a reef being hung on the door during a funeral. Your reaction was still very good because you felt the song and deep sadness due the this guy's love for a woman. Thanks for reacting, I enjoyed it.
The song is telling you he has died and that's why he stopped loving her, she had left him and he kept hopping she'd come but she didn't until he died she one last time to the funeral.
These guys are from Texas too. Willie Nelson, George Strait ,Waylon Jennings, Buck Owens, Don Williams, and some Rock and rollers Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison just to name a few. Sometimes people don't understand why younger people don't quite understand some older songs, but they were written and sang in a way us older people would know what they were singing about. Blues and country music in my humble opinion were first cousins because they seem to always tell stories. George Jones was the second person to record Tennesse Whiskey and made a hit out of it. I also liked Chris Stapleton's version too. I Believe is a song that may have been written about a person's real experience. Hope you like some of these singers that were also song writers.
his friend died that's why they placed a wreath on his door, he was dressed up to go away(dressed for his funeral.... and they are there to carry him away. so he stopped loving her that day because he died so he loved her tell he died...
He the man in the song died.. because he loved her tell he died just as he told her...that's why they placed a wreath on his door.. and it was at the grave side that she showed up for the last time...
George Jones had a blend of styles and songs. He struggled with alcohol and could sing about pain, because he'd experienced so much of it in life. I'd like to suggest one of his songs that is more light hearted "The One I Loved Back Then (the corvette song)". Don't let comments get to you on this reaction. Almost no reactor gets the point of the song. It is subtle and as you commented the bio in the video is distracting. I also think many of the indications that it was about his funeral are referencing things that are not so common any more. Another Texas country singer that I'd suggest would be Junior Brown and I'd suggest "My Wife Thinks Your Dead", the live version of Junior Brown is best because he is such an amazing guitarist. Thanks for the reactions.
She visited his funeral he died. It took him 18 months to record the song because it reminded him of his 3rd wife singer Tammy wynette whom he recorded several songs with. Even though they both married other people they never stopped loving each other but his drinking ended the marriage in fact 3 of his marriages bit his 4th wife was too stubborn to leave
This video on this song is so aggravating they keep telling facts about George when people doing the reaction lose concentration on the songs words and usually they don't get the meaning as usual
You are too busy learning about George Jones ( the Gray haired fox) to listen to the lyrics of the song. Maybe that's why you like Rap you don't listen. George is singing about a man that said " I'll love her till I die" "He kept her picture by his bed" He saved her letters, had underlined in red every single I love you " I went to visit him today"All dressed up to go away " First time I'd seen him smile in years! " He stopped loving her today, they placed a wreath upon his door, soon they'll carry him away, He stopped loving her today " and your saying so far it's not sad. Try it again but listen.
@Scott Darden I do like rap and other genres of music. Many would say rap is actually harder to listen to them country because it’s faster. I do agree I was trying to learn about him while listening to this song. However this song still didn’t move me rhythmically as much as the other country songs I covered.
@@itsratedruth7331 Do you listen to what the rappers are saying? Talking (not singing) about selling drugs in the hood and killing other people in the hood! And you enjoy that?

It never fails, I see more reactors using this video than others and this video has too many distractions that reduces the reactors train of thought about what the song is about. His BIO should not be in here. People stop paying attention to the meaning of the song and start reading the BIO and as you read you are not paying attention to what he is saying. I thought though, for sure that since she stopped the song to read, the BIO and resumed that she was getting the message of the song. She even had an expression like she knew the meaning of the song to find out like so many times with this stupid video that they have no idea what the song is about because they didn't pay attention. There are actually too many HINT's in this song not to understand what it's about not to know. The very first hint was the very first verse. "He said I'll love you till I die" followed by many other hints. Why would they place a wreath upon someones door? Why would he need to be carried away? There is no code talk here, no street slang, no nasty disgusting violence or sexual smut, it's just a sad song. If you really want to understand what a song is about, you have to not just listen, but absorb each word of it because every word leads to hints that clearly tells you what the song is about. If i was a reactor, but then again, No! I would play back the song from the start if I didn't catch what the meaning was about. To be honest, most reactors don't care. They just want clicks and move on to the next song. But, I blame this reaction miss on the distractions in the video that makes you read when you should be listening to the song.
