  • Disclaimer: Due to a lack of supplies as a result of the epidemic, some of the items we used were improvised. We are not yet at the professional level, thus the performance you will see in the video is not faultless. Furthermore, we are only learning through an online class, which is a disadvantage compared to face-to-face learning, where we can fully absorb and practice new abilities. Hopefully, the pandemic will end eventually, and we will be able to return to our normal learning style of gaining new knowledge and insight that we can apply in our future careers.
Furthermore, for those who are asking for the script, here is it:
    Room Service Script
    Room Service Department (Telephone Conversation)
    After 3 telephone rings
RSD: Goodmorning, Room Service Department, Jan Naomi Mendez speaking. How may I help you?
Guest: Hello, I would like to order breakfast
RSD: Would you tell me your room number and name please?
Guest: My name is Carlos Miguel Dayrit, I’m in room 607
RSD: I see. What would you like to order Sir Carlos?

Knocking was way too fast, she could've asked first the guest of where they want their/his food to be set up, salt and pepper is missing, even sauces like ketchup or mayonnaise. She needs to be more engaging the conversation or start a conversation like "How was your day Mr. Carlos Miguel...? Do you have any set plans for the day?" And you can ask more.. Also, once you presented all his orders, then ask for confirmation if did you get his order right. In In Room Dining world, we're not suppose to greet the guest too much of a "Ma'am/Sir" actually, in the service, you are only allowed to call the guest name 3 times. Anyway, she's a nice example. Great job.

Can we have things like leaving the table(meal) outside the room door? so we can collect and arrange by ourself.

    • @anotherfeat1647
      @anotherfeat1647 3 ปีที่แล้ว

if this is a video on what to expect in America Then You should be able to ask that they leave it outside your door.
But they don't leave the cart with you as they'll be using that to deliver food to other guests. they typically only leave the trays of food. See the black tray, they'd probably put that on a table in the room for you. (or on the ground outside your room if you asked them to.)
I wouldn't, because the floor. But also the way to return the dishes and signify that you are done with your meal is to put the dirty dishes on the ground outside your door so the staff can collect them.
The rooms are much larger in America than in this video, so you'll have a table/desk to put the tray on.
But again, I don't know what this video is. So I don't know if you were actually asking if you can have that service in real life, or if you can have a video of that service.

I was searching for something else.. What is this?
Is this for a class? and these are fellow students giving constructive criticism in the comments?
Is the class for learning English?
Is the class for... working at a hotel, because a lot of the criticism is how to do the hotel stuff.
Is it a culture class? because there's a comment about how to knock (that was a lot of knocking, actually.) and a comment about touching doors.
    I'm leaning towards culture class.
in which case I would like to respond to the people who are very specific about the breakfast.
As an American, I take a continental breakfast to mean "free food in the morning" but you have to go down and get it yourself. It's buffet style. Or at least, I've never asked for it brought up to me. You can take your plate back to your room or with you when you leave the hotel to eat it though, as it's served on disposable dishes.
There are foods that you can order to your room in some hotels but I've only used room service for dinner, These meals would be served on glass plates with covers and expected to be returned, via placing them on the floor outside your door to show that you are done with the meal and the dishes can be collected by the staff.
