- This is the Flowey dialogue from a Neutral No Save run I did. I didn't realize before doing this that No Save Run means no full heals (saving is how you heal normally) so you can only rely on items to heal. It was a a nice challenge to add to the game, I might try it in actual Undertale or Deltarune too. I now have a better editing software without watermarks (If you watched any of my previous videos, I'm sorry). Also, I know there's a bit of no save no mercy route dialogue too that I didn't add to the video but I posted it in a separate video since it’s a different route and other people have uploaded full no save no mercy runs too.

I feel like he uses Clover as a tool but also sees him as a frenemy. And in the Pacifist route, he seems to see Clover as a friend

Flowey is a good friend!
I see it more as the continuity of Clover's memories. If Flowey forced a SAVE that Clover doesn't remember asking for, they would get disoriented or suspicious. This might have consequences Flowey has experienced firsthand and is trying not to repeat.
The guilt tripping is very clear.

I'm disappointed that they didn't make a 4th wall break with this, making Flowey slowly realize that you must have had some prior experience to beat the game with no deaths.
But hey, at least they acknowledge the fact that you don't save.

I mean, Flowey already knows you've had prior experience. He's the reason for that prior experience.
@@Aktedya1-jt7vwFlowey thinks that Clover can't remember resets which not true (thanks to the player) and if you complete neutral several times Flowey will say that he has zero idea how Clover gets better everytime
@@yanerusskiy9598That doesn't necessarily mean Clover remembers. Characters in Undertale get dejavu if you reset. Could just be a subconscious thing

Only when Chara get more power through LOVE, they can act however they want from their own volition and freely talk (Clover does the same).
Even so, Flowey should've at least got suspicious from how Clover manages to dodge death so easily.
The fact that the creator put that much thought into guilt tripping achievement hunters is amazing

uty's writing may have had issues but they really peaked with flowey for the most part! i love how he really acknowledged that you could have trust issues and then he really tells you to just get over it. my little jerk boy... never change

Doesn't the C button exist to auto mash text? Pretty sure it's even in Deltarune
@@mariotheundying Deltarune started it; most other games past it adopted it. TS!UNDERSWAP and UTY are two examples I know that have it (unless i misremember it lol)
@@bababooey5402Actually UNDERTALE had it as a SAVE mod. It was a debug feature fun fact! I could send you a special auto mash SAVE file and you could boot it up in your unmodified game! Cool
Technically for a speedrunner it would be faster to save after Ava crashed since not saving gives flowey tons of new dialogue

He has different dialogue if you have saved but are still at 0 deaths.

I think it is somewhat out of character, but Flowey staying composed and genuinly feeling betrayed hints that Flowey became more jaded as kids fell down Ebott instead of his empathy disappearing with his soul disappeared, which makes him more empathetic as a character if you ask me.
[Flowey's thoughts]
• "I don't understand... why do you keep rejecting my offer?"
• "Are you really THAT desperate to continue like it was nothing?"
• "This is NOT part of the plan..."
• "Who even are you?"
• "0 Deaths, So far nobody can't hit you... NOT EVEN MY TRAPS... This is so absurd."
• "What are you hiding? What are you planning to do?"
• "Since when did you already know!?"
Heres what I dont get about this:
Flowey complains to you about you not saving during your run. From a gameplay standpoint, this makes sense,
But lorewise, Clover isn't saving. Flowey is. It's not like Clover not telling him to save makes him physically unable to. He could just do it himself.
Lorewise, anyway.
From what I can tell, its like how frisk and flowey work in undertale, but reversed, when Clover dies, flowey LOADS his save rather than resets it, undertale showed that a "true" reset can affect characters that have less determination then the user itself, clover has far less determination than flowey or frisk, so them being able to remember a load but not a save makes sense, they arent strong enough to do so.
As for flowey not just saving on his own, its because he wants to earn your trust, his plan has to do with the fact that clover trusts him enough to get to asgore and use them as a distraction to steal the souls, in order to do that he has to be "friendly", his neutral run boss fight reveals how absolutely venomous he is.
Flowey doesn’t actually want Clover to save. What he wants is for Clover to trust him. Saving is just a representation of trust. He sees Clover not saving as Clover refusing to trust him, meaning he cant manipulate Clover.
Because flowey wants you to trust him first, thats why, if flowey was like "hey buddy i have just saved for you rn without your conscent mk?" it would sound very suspicious no?

When I did the genocide route whit no saving I lost to the Vampire Boy (I know laughable) but I Learn the game let you restart the boss fight.

@@FnafIntothepitenjoyer you can restart during every bosss (or normal enemies if you enable Always Retry) in the game

@@Jevil-GunI don’t think there are any differences in Pacifist post Dunes. Flowey takes a backseat until Ceroba’s house where he just tells you to continue on your path to defeat Ceroba as usual.
In Geno, when you leave the Ruins Flowey will ask whether you refuse to Save because of his threat when you reach LVL 3 during Geno.
There's no dialogue about not saving in Genocide except when you arrive in Dunes. Nothing special. It's only in Neutral Run.

Saving is time effective flowey, i need less saves and more speed flowey, maybe if you didnt yap whilst i was saving flowey id save flowey
I completed a genocide no save run (yes, Ceroba included). There's no dialogue about not saving except when you arrive in Dunes. Seems like this only happens in Neutral.

Save function is what keeps clover from permanently staying dead. Flowey need him alive until he reaches asgore.

@@thesuaviestbeatle Flowey wants to gain Clover's trust mainly, to better manipulate them and achieve his goals by, well , keeping them alive until the end. Creating dependency is a strong way to do that
