That was awesome. I had to rewind and rewatch that sub about 10 times it was so clean. I had my first comp two weeks ago. Bigger dudes, aggressive, but I used the hell out of my kimura traps, had a great coach, and went home with the shiny gold necklace. Between my coach and the great stuff I’ve taken from your videos, it went well and was fun

Good job man, that looked like one scary dude! I really liked this commentary, that would be crazy to see you do the ADCC trials. I had my first competition on October 1st, I managed to win bronze in the 236lb+ division, white belt. I weighed in around 240, and that “+” after 236 is no joke! These guys were huge!
Lost my first few matches because my stand up wasn’t where it needed to be, and couldn’t escape mount. Had a few moments where I could’ve turned it around, but I got too excited and sloppy with my sweeps/takedowns.
I was the very last match of the competition, and I got somebody that was actually around my size and experience level, managed to win 12-2.
It was a surreal, but amazing experience and a lot of fun. Since the competition I’ve felt significantly better at jiu jitsu, and I’ve gained an assertiveness that I lacked before. Maybe it’s just a bronze Newbreed medal, but that shit felt like winning Worlds to me.
    Thanks!
