Woah, that’s me! I’ve rolled with some world-class ranked competitors like Andrew Wiltse, Chris Wojcik, and Robert Degle… and Jordan is DEFINITELY at that world-class level.
This video came at the perfect time for me to fix up my mistakes before I compete at the ADCC Open in Thailand this weekend 😃 thank you Jordan for the seminars and the rolls in Vietnam, the technique you taught during the camp is already a big part of my game. Highly recommend Jordan’s next camp for some high-level instruction!
- Ryan from Minimal Snacks
P.S. I think I watch too much Tyler Spangler… hence the many, many guillotine attempts 😂
Good luck at your comp.
@@SomeGuy486 thank you so much! 🙏
You looked great man. I enjoyed watching you two.
Thanks man! You'll get there too in time 💪
You looked amazing dude!
You and Chewy are far and away my favorite online instructors and deeply enjoyed your roll. I love how you breakdown a live roll with the instructional video next to it. Thanks for another great breakdown.
Thanks man! Adds a tonne of work, so I'm glad it's appreciated 🙂
It was great training with you and Jeff in Vietnam.
Got my third stripe on my white belt at the weekend!! Watching your videos has helped so much. Thanks mate
Happy to help! Congrats on the stripe :)
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu thanks Jordan, buzzing for the next pod!!
Terrific as always. Love the explanation and the pauses in the video for my brain to catch up.
Thanks man! I'm getting better with my pacing and format 🙂
“Grip fighting is preventing grips of all kinds.” A VERY lucid elaboration.
Pure gold. Your slow motion commentary videos are the best.
Nice gym, and excellent technical roll with great analysis as always❤
Super thanks!
come for the sick moves - like that roll escape from truck. Stay for the theory - like that whoever has their knee in front of the opponent's hips has the dominant truck position. btw, a roll with Jeff Chan coming??
Thanks man! Unfortunately didn't get a roll with Jeff but he is going to make a video on his channel showcasing my striking which I'm stoked about!
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu niiiice. looking forward to those punches
Cool tip on finishing the Kimura! Thanks man!
i always enjoy watching you while podcasting it.
The technique finished at 6:50, which you state you taught at the retreat, is known as the Fhilo. Correct?
Made famous by Paulo Filho. A great defense break for the armbar in spiderweb. Very fitting coming from a guy like you who has done MMA. 😉
I kinda just discovered it myself but I'm not surprised at all that its a thing and has a name already 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu the way you drive your thigh into the back of the head and bring him closer is definitely a “fine detail“ that isn’t in the original and makes it easier to grasp for the break.
I have a few techniques that I discovered organically as well, only to later find had a variation. Though this is more true for guys like us who started prior to instructional/TH-cam being prevalent, I think the cooler take away is how things have a natural progression.
Maybe not the best example, but similar to, say, geometry. The man credited with inventing/discovering it would have been someone else, had he not done it first. It’s inevitable. We have so many cleaver people, such as yourself, in grappling that it’s a matter of time. Great share my guy. 🙏🏽
Nice! Thank you prof!
really enjoying the theory course and this video was great as well like always.
Love this video 🔥
Thanks man!
Nobody online taught us better about rolling as comprehensive as Jordan,, others only taught us how to submitt or how to escape,, nothing in between,, this missing link filled perfectly by Jordan
Ryan was one of my favorite training partners in Chicago the past couple of years. He has a vicious loop choke. Great to see him still clearly improving.
Thank you Hal! I’ve quit the gi, so no more loop chokes for me 😅 but the guillotine is the new loop choke!
@@minimalsnacks8982Our necks are safe from Ryan... for now LOL
@@minimalsnacks8982 Hey ryan, you're a celebrity now huh hahah
Good stuff

This was a joy to watch!
Another amazing video oss👊
Super Thanks 😊
Hey Jordando.you plan on coming to Europe ? France maybe ?
Hopefully in the summer. Probably Germany though 🙂
Crucifix is life
Awesome video!
Definitely recommend to anyone to go to Jordan’s next retreat.
Him and Jeff were fantastic to learn from at the Vietnam retreat
You won’t regret it!

Super thanks

Running short on time today so just a fist bump 👊
👊
Wow! That blue will turn into purple fast!
I think I’m still very far off purple, but thank you!! 😂
@@minimalsnacks8982 😂💪. Humility is one of the necessities in BJJ. You might already be a black belt by the time I press send. Going to check out your snacks! Thanks, good luck bro and you have one more follower.

If a blue belt gives a black belt trouble then I guess they earned their belt?
Definitely. But the title is admittedly click bait lol. He didn't actually give me trouble but he is really good for sure.
I train at a dojo in Trinidad and Tobago. When are you planning to be here?
May 13! You should come.

Thanks for everything Jordan. Your videos have been a great help to my Canadian ass.
It was an honor to train with you, Jordan! And glad you were able to use this footage! -Sun
Likewise! You actually did great for your first time. Followed the action really well and weren't shakey. Hope to train again in the future 👊
You guys were dope
Super thanks!
👊
Really impressive level for a blue belt !! 💥💥
Thank you so much!
There was once a "blue belt" at my gym with 8 years of wrestling and then 4 years of pro MMA training at ATT lol. But he nEvEr tRaInEd iN tHe gi
Jordan you put out great content man.
Have you made any videos regarding being in a rut in the jiu jitsu journey? I’d love to hear your perspective. Consistency, moving to a new area therefore a new gym, etc.
That guillotine defense is exactly what you showed me while we were filming the instructional.
Nice little discussion about the truck and 50/50, a whole vid on that would be awesome
I've been watching your content for quite some time. Picked up so many details about grappling that I use everywhere I go. I help coach a wrestling team here in Idaho and your content has helped me wrestle and teach technique for years.
Looks pretty purple to me :)
Thanks for all the videos. Got 2 stripes on my white belt today, your advice and tips are paying off :)
Awesome man! Thank you and congrats!
Awesome

Another banger from the man himself! Thanks!
Thank you! Back to more frequent content now that I'm back in Canada 🙂

The best. Oss!

You must do some kind of weight lifting what kind of program do you follow?
I do kettlebells and calisthenics now but in the past did regular compound movements.
I wonder if Jujitsu gets boring and predictable when you have been doing it for so long?
Honestly ya which is sad to say
Super Thanks! :-)
🙏
Excellent commentary sensei
Great! Keep it up!
I’m still waiting to sparring without any injury 😂
Always nice see you fighting! I learn a lot from you. Keep with the good content!
Love your videos

How was your weight displaced when you attempted your leg weave into mount? Also, what upper body grips were you using that allowed you to stuff any inversion attempt from that position?
It wasn't really displaced. I couldn't get him stretched out more than I did, without forcing it. To stop the inversion it's that underhook and in step of my foot on his leg. He was pinned in opposite directions. That prevents him from being able to position himself in a ball to invert.
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Thank you 🙏 that answers my question
What's the scene like in Vietnam? I'm traveling to HCM in February and I'm hoping for some training
Check out zombie jiu jitsu in Allentown
Seems a bit primitive right now compared to other countries. I'm sure it'll grow quickly though 🙂
Some of the schools I went to in HCM had savages even on the white belt level. I agree with Jordan that bjj is still primitive compared to the states, but growing quickly
Saigon sports club!!! I was here!!! I rolled with Jordan. He's legit.
