Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
This is literally my favorite car ever, as if I didn't already have a reason to watch every single one of your videos. I can think of no better channel to leave this restoration in the hands of.
Found your channel bout 40 mins ago, thought “this is a cool channel”. Now i discover ur a subie guy and doin a restoration on a classic! Thats my after noon gone! Wish to see more content on this build!👍
it's cool that you had this subaru, because now I imagine that there will be a lot of video restoration of various things in relation to this car .... its going to be awesome ..... hurry to see them....
Rewatching this whole series again. So good mate !! If you happen to find the time, and the weather aligns, a driving video of some sort would be greatly appreciated by I’m sure all of us 👍👍 My own blob eye semi-restoration is nearing completion and the inspiration i gained from your videos really helped me get to where I am now. Thanks mate !
Nice to see you again, Glad you enjoyed it i was in two minds whether to give the back story or not as i wasn't sure if anyone would be interested haha.
@@RRCRestoration Thanks mate, and as you can see in the comments, people really like when they get the back story on items, it kinda "completes" the items you're restoring if we're told where it came from and how it came in your possession in the first place, if you understand what I mean. 😊
Smashing video Brother. Knowing your attention to detail, every piece you removed will look like brand new and polished before going back in. Looking forward to seeing this progress. Fantastic stuff. Much love man.
WOW! Where has this channel been hiding all this time??? I only just discovered this! Wonderful tidy up! It's a dream come true for me to do this to my GC!
His time and patience is commendable. I get frustrated if the battery in my car doesn’t come off quickly when I need to replace it. I could hardly bring myself to do this. It’s going to be beautiful.
Hi Sir thought I saw a boxer engine in the corner last video! now it makes sense, my brother just sold a model the same as that, it had been worked on by the last owner, chipped and other things done to it, 360bhp! all I know is he took me out in the car & it was unreal, it was like it was on rails, it shit the life out of me, scary when your a passenger, look forward to seeing it finished , ATB Wayne. PS the car was an import as well as it had a rear wiper.
Hi nice to see you again. Yeah they are awesome little cars, They feel really fast and corner brilliantly, Ive owned 3 of them now and this one is by far my favorite :)
We love what you do.. that to thinking about the fact that I live in a small town in Chennai, India and I follow and inspired abt you.. it’s amazing isn’t it.. as always what you do is actually my passion ❤️❤️ hope you do more vids soon ❤️💙❤️
Ive just spent a week on my fairlane engine bay, there was a lot less junk in there but it took 10 washes and a gallon of paint stripper (we got the oldskool stuff here, it burns through nitrile gloves!) To get all the oil out!
Yeah engine bays are a real nightmare i hate doing them just for the fact oil and paint dont make a good combo but theres no denying a freshly painted bay is gorgeous and a worth while investment in time :)
well that was a surprise, nice one, will be interesting to see what you do next to the beast, where the hell you find the time for all this content i'll never know, keep it up though, its good stuff imo getting better all the time the intro was necessary and worth while i think TA
Glad you enjoyed the surprise, I thought it was about time the Impreza made an appearance ;) . Next video on it will be cleaning up and refitting everything that was taken out of the bay and possibly a bit of engine work if i can get the time ;) .... You might be interested to hear that ive purchased another trials bike ;) Glad you enjoyed the intro i almost didn't put it in as i wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in the backstory.
@@RRCRestoration yeh i think people are definitely interested looking at a few of the comments, i certainly am and im average joe i spose keeping the new purchase secret eh? good idea !
Haven’t seen such a nice subi in ages, do the rear arches need doing by any chance? I couldn’t see any but you’ve gained a new subscriber hope to see loads more content on the Scooby 👍🏽
Not to worry ive plenty more content to come from the Subaru ;) oh and nope my rear arches are perfect always dry stored and never taken out in the wet ;) Thank you for subscribing it means a lot :)
Are you gonna buy new LED headlights ? Those look sweet and can change the front look of the car in a nice modern way. Or maybe you want to stray OEM ?
i noticed you dry scotched before you zinc and primed it, i would at least scotched it wet with panel wipe, i also noticed you didnt sand or scotch the primer before you put colour on, was the primer not high build ? (wet on wet)
Hi, you sound like you know your way around a spray gun? I chose to go down the dry scotching route so as not to end up with sanding slurry in every crevice and have to spend ages cleaning it all up before i can prime at least doing it dry its just a case of blowing it down with he air duster, panel wipe tack rag and prime. Yes i did do down the wet on wet route, i dont do it often as im not really keen on it but for this job i felt it was appropriate.
I've spent some time in a spray booth or two, we all do things a little different but in the end we usually get the same results and thats what counts. I must say your method of dry scotching is probably a better thought out one that i mentioned, keep up the good work, i enjoy watching your restoration videos
Its so that the car looks more like the rally version when they are on. plus it protects them from getting smashed if you do decide to do a spot of rally driving now and again haha.
The engine has already been rebuilt and forged a few years ago by a professional engine builder, but i will be showing all of the ancillaries being restored and refitted.

If all you do is wash your dirty socks, I’ll keep watching you do it.

The whole time watching the disassembly I'm thinking "Wow...each part he takes off is a resto video!" Love this series! More!
I know right, and it's bloody addictive viewing too.

Took apart engine to go faster, life got in the way, and all i want now is a car that goes 35MPH
Superb work, I would struggle to remember less than a tenth where everything went.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment :)
Was thinking the same thing. Do all this is easy. Remembering where and how it goes together is the knowledge part
Ya estoy esperando la segunda parte para ver como va a quedar ese trabajo perfecto, mis like siempre

Very good!
Might be a mad question but what are you using for light when under your wheel arches and underside the car etc? Seems like a great light
SPUD MY BOY!!!
super boulot !!
After the hydrate 80 and sanding, what was that black spray before priming? Just paint or a specific anti-rust product?
Hi bro 👋👋👋very good project 👍👍👍Wheelbarrow fire, tell me you want to paint it all or part of it? What about the engine?
looks awesome

nice project! did you apply a clear coat after the 3 coats of paint?
This is a topcoat paint so there is no need for clear.

Jesus, was importing this straight from Japan must have been a fortune having to ship that distance?
how did you baked it all at once? sorry im a noob
The room i am currently working in is my spray booth so the full room can be ventilated while spraying and heated to bake full car paint jobs.
We will have a long time to complete it
Ohhhh comeee onnnnnnn

It works incredibly well :)
I smothered my suspension components in it a few months ago, need to do some brake work soon so will be interesting to see how it has done.
