I have eczema and it gets 1000x worse when I’m stressed. I usually only get it on the insides of my elbows and the back of my knees. A few months ago it flared up on the back of my hands and my mom and I had NO IDEA what the hell was happening honestly at first we thought I either got bit by something or that I had ringworm. It tore the shit out of my hands and they were red and bleeding and the things we used to make it go away got worse.
My mom figured out it was my eczema acting up and told me how to fix it, she also realized from watching me that I would scratch when I was doing certain things (stuff for her that I couldn’t mess up, homework ect.) that the breakout was caused by stress.
Long story short I don’t scratch that much anymore and I’m all good now (aside from that fact that my hands look like they have fading burn scars lol)

My best friend thought she had eczema but it was actually psoriasis. She was always teased at school because she had patches on her legs. The boys teases her and scorned her, just bullying her. One day I invited her to my house and some of my relatives asked if I couldn't find a better friend and I was offended. They told me to be careful with her and not to share brushes and combs with her because I can catch it. But she's the greatest friend I've ever had. She's really strong, but still insecure cause people can be mean. She's uncomfortable at the beach and revealing too much skin. But I hope they'll invent something to make life easier for those who have skin diseases because the world can be cruel to them

I no longer have any injuries on my skin at all, I can sleep well, I can go out without covering my arms and elbows. It is expensive, so if you have insurance it's a great choice. As someone who struggled with eczema for years (not quite as severe as this, but quite bad eczema that always left cuts/dry spots/sores on my body), I just accepted it as part of my life. And that it was just how I needed to live. And I was very avoidant towards thinking about it (I’d stop myself from talking about it ever, I didn’t want to acknowledge what a huge problem it was!). I actually ended up going to therapy because at one point after a doctor told me (incorrectly) that I couldn’t be on a medication and needed to fail other treatments first (treatments he said wouldn’t help) my mental tanked and my therapist helped me acknowledge what I was going through and accept it.

I'm so surprised and happy that TSW is getting recognition. Ive had severe eczema since I was three and I used steroids my whole life. I used to get bullied because of my skin, and the steroids were beginning to do more harm than good when I was a teen. So in 2017, I was approved for Dupixent and I stopped taking topical and oral steroids. I felt like I looked like a monster everyday but I knew that I had to keep pushing through it with hopes that I could live a normal life. Infections, people giving me weird looks and just not understanding. My doctor didn't even consider TSW a real thing and would prescribe me more. But this rash looks different from a regular flare... It wasn't just eczema. Four years in, and I'm 95% healed. For those on the same journey, don't give up. 😊❤️

@speedierllama There is a doctor in Japan who is against the use of steroids and have treated patients with this, and it doesn't seem to affect everyone, but some cases it appears years after use and some cases have happened to even infants. My case, along with some others I've heard about, our eczema had calmed down and wouldn't require the need of steroids, only for some years later to just explode all over the body. It's hellish and it really flips your life upside down. Some others going through this have brought it up to their doctors or dermatologists, and would be told to just use STRONGER doses and it's awful. 😭

Been there with severe eczema, repeated infections and TSW. All those endless endless days of weeping, bleeding, itching and pain, the crazy torture of being unable to sleep until exhaustion, showering a thousand cuts and open wounds stinging I had to do limb by limb before daring to turn the water to my body. Dropping skin everywhere, feeling so unloved and ashamed and the hopelessness everytime I caught myself giving in and scratching all the skin off when the itch is just overwhelming it can only be masked by pain and rawness... I prayed and prayed and prayed.
Today, I still have some flare ups now and then, but I can work and go out and meet friends. I hope one day a cure can be developed for eczema 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’ve struggled with eczema since I was a baby too, I get really bad flare ups on my hands to the point where it looks like I have burn wounds 😓 the itching and burning would drive me nuts I’d also get these under the skin blisters that would pop open and I’d bleed from the cracks it was the most painful experience, my flare up was definitely caused by stress at that time, I’d also hurt to just get water on your skin showering was just torture 😣 i had to see a skin specialist and he gave me a cream to put on my hands that stuff was a miracle cream!( idk the name of it and I’m to lazy to go look lol) Within a couple weeks my eczema cleared up, I feel for this guy I luckily only had it on my hands and now I get on my eyelids occasionally but not all over my body like him, poor guy 🥺

I am on a bi-weekly injection of that Dupixent shot and it’s working ok I guess, not clearing up all the way like they say in their advertisements but it’s not too bad. I got patches on the backs of my hands, creases on my arms, backs of my knees, across the top portion of my back, and some around my belly button. I’m not clear yet but hoping this stuff will help. 🤞

I have eczema on serveral parts of my body, but the ones on my hands and fingers bother me the most. Sometimes it is so itchy I would pick at it until it bleeds a bit and sometimes it's so dry, it flakes up. I had a few patches around the front of my hair, and the hair fell off. Being a teen, it makes me so self concious to have fingers that look like burn marks and bald flaky spots on my head. I've learnt to live with it and control it to some extent, and the hair spots are growing back, but eczema is still such an annoying skin condition to live with. Dermatologists recommend ointments/steroids but that makes it Much worse. Get exercise, think twice about what you eat/consume. Try to keep it moving, don't think about it, don't scratch. I wash my hands with Dawn's dish soap whenever it pops up again because it tends to pop up in between my fingers first before other parts of my body. But for the most part, exercise kicks it's ass. As well as not stressing. I've battled for quite sometime and I believe that I've found my remedy. I wish everyone natural and healthy skin to fullest extent. But Refuse ointments/steroids! I'm feeling for him right now. My psoriasis is flared up, big time, covering about a 3rd of my body. While most people just think it looks nasty and you're a leper what they don't get is how much it hurts. Your skin is so severely dried out and cracked that the areas bleed. So not only do they hurt but they itch. The spots sting from being exposed to air and if you've scratched them out of sheer desperation they hurt even worse.
Right now I'm without a dermatologist because mine moved back to his home state. I've already been waiting for a month, but waiting for my appointment with the new doctor until February is a joke. I'm considered a new patient with this doctor even though they're in the same office. My regular doctor has given me a couple of prescriptions for steroids even though they don't offer a whole lot of help, they do take the swelling down for a week or two.
I hope they can something more to help you. I know how bad it really is. Good luck and best wishes. You'll be in my prayers 🙏❤

Then when I came home to some family that loved me very much they convinced me to see another doctor and she helped me to get the medication I needed. Oh man, I relate heavily to this, I had agressive eczema since I was a child and some of my first memories I have in my childhood would be me crying from how itchy I was, and to go to sleep needing to have lotions and ointment and creams rubbed all over my body and then I was wrapped in bandages and felt like a mummy, would still wake up covered in blood from itching while I slept.
I now work with a dermatologist and I use a exfoliating towel to rub off my dried dead skin, then use unrefined foodgrade Shea butter (cosmetic grade tends to use unnecessary additives) head to toe, and if I have a flare-up I use steroid cream.
But drinking water and trying to reduce stress, along with "mind over matter" meditation to reduce the urge to itch has helped me tons.
My main issue is if I scratch once I can't stop because then my skin gets inflamed and irritated, so I just try to avoid it all together.

My sisters and I all were born with eczema and battled with it much of it during our youth. For the majority we’ve grown up and it rarely shows up on me mostly during stressful events - of course it is where you normally rest your hands and fidget while thinking. I did some extensive research long ago and found most childhood allergies are milk related- as well as wheat related depending upon what the cows ate which supplied your milk. Breastfeeding if it had occurred would have eliminated much of those birth allergies but alas I was not - as modernity dictated bottle feeding and Similac when we were small. I also found out that goats milk is most similar to human breast milk in curd size and culture. Eliminating dairy and wheat which is what I eventually did to a great extent- still luv ice cream- which comes in many forms now so we do have choices- might help many. I hope this md can help this sweet guy.🙏🏽✨

Big venting because I haven't talked about it with anyone, and since the topic is up:
I have both Psoriasis Eczema, however my Psoriasis is much worse untreated. After a couple months going off of Psoriasis steroids, it grew all over my body. My dermatologist said it covered more then 80% of me, my arms, torso, legs, neck and scalp. I could barely look at myself without crying, I didnt even want my mom to see it because I'm sure she would too. It got so bad that I had small open wounds constantly, and my knee joints swelled to the point where I couldn't walk for weeks, possibly a month or two. Not only do I have both Psoriasis and Eczema, I have Psoriatic Arthritis. I am on new steroids nowadays, my skin is much clearer, and I can walk fine with the exception of aching occasionally, but to this day even thinking about it is still upsetting. I wish I didn't have to take steroids my whole life so I never have to go through that again, but at least I dont feel like dying lmao
Hope I dont regret posting this, with it being youtube comments and all

PSA is THE WORST. My skin problem is 90% eczema, very little psoriasis. But the joint pain is...ugh. I was undiagnosed for over 30 years because it was believed you could not have psoriasis & eczema at the same time and my joint pain must have been "in my head". 🙄 Now I have permanent joint damage throughout my spine and in my hands, knees and feet. I'm too old to start over but 20 years from retiring, it's a scary place to be when you don't know from one day to the next. If the steroids give you relief and save your joints long term do what you need to do! There are other treatments that can also help like the biologics. Just hold your head up and remember you are strong and you got this! ♥️

I went through something similar. Not as intense. But my skin was AWFUL. Lost my eyebrows and I’m even my fingerprints. Gone. Was always made fun of and my eczema was back with vengeance. Didn’t help that I was OBSESSED with stealing Chocolate bars as a kid. Anyways I realized removing milk, gently tapping the itch when it came helped also being vigilant about omega 3-6-9 seemed to abate. Also my mum was obsessed with melting cocoa butter on the stove and moisturizing my face with it. It’s the smell that makes me so mournful for mum till this day.
The corticosteroids were the WORST thing I could have don’t to my skin. It’s funny that when you apply them you see results IMMEDIATELY. No lie. Betnovate, dermovate you name it. That’s what made me realize we can change our skin by topical application. But hydration was key. Inside and out
Aloe Vera gel is your friend kids. Takes time.
    Then thick THICK occlusives.

I've had eczema since I was a child, most prominently on my face, fingers, and currently the backs of my legs. There were points in my life where people didn't even want to shake my hand because it was so bandaged up since my eczema was weeping. Thankfully I have never gone through the steroid withdrawal after stopping it. I have some herbal remedies that help with skin conditions and thankfully they work pretty well in curbing my symptoms. I've also found a good soothing gel for my facial flare-ups. Now I only use steroids when the flare-ups are too bad for the herbal medicine to contain (and that has been pretty rarely nowadays). I'm scared my body's going to develop a tolerance for the herbal medicine and I have to go back to topical steroids again, though

Ive had so many creams and lotions, nothing worked for my acne. That all changed with one good dermatologist that understood creams wouldn't work and instead gave a presciption that inquired a blood test every three months. When I say that shit did wonders I mean it. Years and years of being tortured it finally went away. It came back once (you take it every day for a year or a hit less than a year; depends on if it's gone) so I started again but eversince the second time my face, shoulders and chest are clear

@Kiki Ivanka Shayk okay I may have fucked up with the translation because I'm bot sure anymore that acne is the same as eczema, still if you are interesting I will try to find out what it was called. It took one doctor to reckonize that this treatment would work better, it's not a wonder doctor

    • @detective8205
      @detective8205 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Jasper Dolphin I'm pretty sure this is it. It's Isotretinoïne Aurobindo.
"Doctors do not all prescribe the medicine equally easily. It should be clear that everything has been tried. Often a course of antibiotics is prescribed first. Preferably with an increase in the dose afterwards. All of this seems to be a process to disable or adjust Roaccutane use. If the antibiotics have no effect on the unsightly pimple mass, nor does the cliché of good skin cleaning and healthy eating, the doctor can eventually switch to prescribing Accutane. Its active ingredient is isotretinoin. The dose depends on height and weight. The first dose will be as low as possible. The capsules come in a blister pack and are taken orally with water."

I have eczema. It's pretty hard, especially when I have a flare up. It feels like I'm burning, I can't stop scratching and if I do I just burst into tears because of the pain and mental exhaustion. Everywhere I walk I leave bits of skin lying around. When ever I scratch behind my ears the skin gets on my shoulders and it doesn't brush off completely so I have this weird residue left on my clothes for the rest of the day. My floor and my bed are covered with it. It's disgusting. I'm disgusting. I look so horrible... I really hate it. My mum and my sister both grew out of it but I don't think I will. I'll just keep looking like a monster for the rest of my life.

Damn for once something relatable. Eczema isn't quite talked about that often. Man before I had been actually diagnosed with it has to be the hardest time. It itches to the point where u will scratch off ur skin. It got worse and I ended up not being able to walk for 6 months cause eczema really idk how to say it but corroded my skin and all I could see was my flash, yh it really got bad to that point. Really messed up my 12th grade cause it took a toll on my mental health too. Later I went from one dermatologist to another and none could help me out. They freaking told me it was some fungal infection...until my mom self diagnosed it as eczema and we headed off to the homeopathy doctor and he really helped alot in my recovery process. I've been doing better than 2-3 yrs bk. I still got it but I've somewhat accepted it as a part of me and got comfortable with it. Although when am extremely stressed or consume alot of salty food it tends to get worse. Ofc moisturizing is must!!!! Also can't wear anything that's made of rubber. Or 40% plastic. Gotta be selective about my shoe wear to make sure nothing causes me discomfort. I am really focusing more on my mental and physical health in the past 2 yrs. Eczema shouldn't be chucked as "Just dry skin" ; " it will go away". I'm really grateful to my Mom that she helped me out through my dark time. Not only supporting me emotional but also financially with all the doctors appointments and medicine costs!! I love you ma ❤️✨
Also thank you for posting this ✨

I wish more research and studies could be put into natural methods. I understand so many people are sceptical, but they shouldn't be outright dismissed. My mom used to have eczema and this one time the flare-up was extremely bad. When our house-help saw her (It's common in middle-class Indian households to have a house-help who comes and works for an hour) she said her father-in-law could cure her.
A few days later, she returned with a bottle of liquid, which she said her father-in-law had made by boiling the leaves of some plants that are found in her village. She asked my mum to apply it to the affected areas. When my mom did that, the wounds started oozing profusely (sorry about the graphic imagery). She said she had to tie cloths around her arms and feet and change it every few minutes because they'd get soaked. However, once it stopped she noticed they weren't as itchy anymore. She'd apply the ointment a few more times after that but it was almost as if the initial application drew out all of the bad stuff and healed her almost completely.
Now I'm not saying this would work on everyone. Maybe my mum's condition was different than what's shown in the video. But I do know this... This old man, from a village, knew things about natural medicine that most educated doctors in the country don't know. And it's all because these village secrets are never even explored. Nobody even cares to learn, or at least ask the right questions.
Again, I'm not trying to say that modern medicine is bad, obviously what we have already is immense and I'm grateful to all the people who have made it possible. All I'm trying to say is, there might be so much more that we're unaware of, and might be stupidly ignoring or dismissing, just because we don't like the source of the information. Most doctors would laugh at the idea of listening to some poor old man from a village, and hence we might have actually lost a lot if valuable data already.
This happened more than 30 years ago. I have a similar story about my dad too, which makes me believe even more that there's a lot out there worth looking into and studied.

Yeah I’m a huge proponent of integrative medicine. I mean the cures that were discovered hundreds of years ago that we use in modern medicine today (like medicines) were originally discovered by herbalists and derived from plants so it’s not far off from what we know today.

I’m on Dupixent, and while it’s not a cure, it’s been helping. Also, after so long of living with eczema, I’ve learned that my water softener wasn’t working properly and the hard water inflamed my skin. The soap from doing laundry doesn’t wash out properly with hard water, and that may have contributed as well. Just something to look into if eczema affects you too. Keep fighting, and remember to breathe and try not to stress.

I was on Dupixent as well. If you are trying to get pregnant, you will have to let your doctor know and stop taking the medication. Now that I am pregnant, I have to wait after birth and breast feeding before I can take it again. Just an FYI for any woman thinking about Dupixent. It did help. I’m glad it worked for you too.

This made me cry. I feel you bro. There is nothing worse than not being able to get comfortable. I've contemplated setting myself on fire before, because the itch was sooooooo bad i couldnt sleep for days my skin was soo bad, id just lay in bed crying. I started making my own laundry soap, body soap, and moisturizers. It didn't get rid of my eczema, but if i actually keep up with the long regimen it helps. Meditation helps with the scratching. You've got to find that special place in ur head to so you can stop scratching. Find that thing that soothes your skin, but you have to keep switching it up. You could even move to a dryer climate. Sweat makes me flare up. Anyway we got this fam! 🖤🤘🏿 you can get through this. I really recommend buying hand made soaps its less drying. And using a shower oil in the shower before you get out. Lotion up while in the steamy bathroom helps keep skin from drying out soo quickly so you can seal in some of that moisture. Sorry for the long comment. This just hit me hard. 🖤

I suffer eczema all my life too, my answer is... After I shower, I'll dry my hair, and leave my skin soaking wet. Then use a pea size amount of topical steroid along with a drop or 2 of Johnson's baby oil, a smudge or more of moisturiser and smudge a small amount of vitamin E cream. This then gets mixed in my hands, then rubbed all over my wet soaking body until my wet skin dries up (5 minute's or so) keep rubbing it into your skin.
Prior to this my skin was red, raised, very itchy, wet, irritated and all sorts of business on my arms, legs, My entire back and half of my chest... It was hard to be outside, hard to be intimate, hard to just live my life.
Eventually as I continued this treatment, my skin was slowly but surely closing itself, red became pink, pink became brown-ish, and it was flat! I figured I could exert myself now, I gym, went beach, was able to cuddle and be intimate with a partner, life became more more improve, I felt happier... A LOT happier. Thank you if you read my full story :)

I was in pain and deeply depressed, I looked and felt like a monster. Funny that the date he chose to stop the steroid treatments happens to be my birthday. Although I have found a treatment that works for me, it's not a guarantee that it'll work all the time. I'm still battling my eczema and my depression, but I refuse completely surrender. I encourage this man to continue his fight and to NEVER GIVE UP, there is a light at the end of this tunnel... it's just gonna take us a bit longer to get there but I can guarantee you will be stronger for it.
