I died just before the Christmas of 2019 from exactly what you're talking about. They told me that it took over 40 minutes of CPR before my heart fired up again. Your videos are very informative and appreciated.
My SIL just passed away from this. Hers was caused because her primary doctor prescribed her medications that were not supposed to mix. When she called him to tell him she wasn’t feel well with the new medication, he responded condescendingly and disregarded her. Told her to just take half of her new pill, didn’t even bother to check her or anything.

My wife has been hospitalized from pe's in both lungs, large thrombosis in her heart and now a lung has collapsed from a cavitary lesion as a result of valley fever. Your videos are exactly the info I'm looking for. I've got to make sure I don't act like grandma with her nurse😅
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis 9 days in hospital, back home now with O2 recovering. She has a clotting disorder along with valley fever, they noted like 5 different congenital anomalies in all the imaging from the hospital as well.
When I go for long rides I make sure I stop at a rest stop to stretch my legs, stand and walk around. This summer when I went on vacation to 2 cities Williamsburg, VA and Myrtle Beach, SC with my kids and mother we kept stopping at rest stops and stopped at Restaurants to go to the restroom, walk, stretch and stand to get our blood flowing. Being on airplane long without getting up isn't good and that can lead to deep vein thrombosis. That's what happened to rapper Heavy D 10 years ago coming from London to New York City, he died days later. He thought he had the flu and collapsed on his lawn.
I love how you explain this pathology but you still use some old concepts that are not used anymore, I recommend that you should use the new 2019 guidelines.
Your video is awesome. I didn't understand though: In WELL's Criteria----Tachycardia gives 1.5 point A massive PE---pulseless status/ severe Bradycardia is an important point. ( Shouldn't it be Tachycardia ?) Please reply.
7:46 I'm a B-lymphocyte 😭 I stupidly crossed out the correct answer for PE because the question said "Chest X Ray shows no abnormalities". I won't get it wrong ever again!! 😤
Thing is chest x rays don't show clots in the lungs. I had clots in the lungs and my chest x Ray came back as normal but my d dimer blood test came back abnormal and I had a ct scan and got diagnosed with clots in my lungs and I was terrified!
I like your video so much,it makes me understand better and remember criteria from your mnemonic. So, pls make a lot of contents ,i will follow your channel.

Haha! Lol! You are cracking me up. I have a history of dvt's and pe's due to May Thurner Syndrome. I'm stented and blood thinner for life. I've had many surgeries for it, but unfortunately dealing with some complications from chronic pe's that never dissolved with Eliquis. Hoping that something can be done to relieve my symptoms.
I was taught to always wait things out. I waited for four days and my who left leg, belly, and both lungs were covered in blood clots. I really don't know how I survived. Multiple thrombectomy procedures, tpa, stent placement, blood thinner for life, and still dealing with complications after five years.
Excellent ! Question at 17:00 You mentioned CXR CAN EXCLUDE. is that true? I would imagine a CXR CANNOT EXCLUDE a PE if normal... And CAN INCLUDE if something obvious is there like HAMPTONS HUMP. So i think the more accurate thing to say is that CXR can NOT exclude PE. But i am not sure.
nystagmus he said CXR can exclude other diseases like pneumothorax, but it in most cases cannot diagnose PE because the findings are usually not specific, like atelectasis. The specific finding like Humpton hump etc. are very rare.
Really helpful but i"ve Q , u said that the clot is already has been formed so no benefit from using Anticoagulant then u used heparin ' .. u didnt mention any kind of thrombolytic drugs why?
What do you think of ECG changes for PE of inverted T waves in the inferior leads along with the anteroseptal leads. I heard that those don't occur in may PE's, but when present together, they are actually pretty specific for PE compared to other ECG changes.
They denote right ventricular strain (the right ventricle is trying to pump blood against a thrombus)...In the right clinical scenario, they are helpful...But they cannot confirm the diagnosis...When you suspect PE, you give heparin anyway, regardless of the ECG.
This is a pretty poor explanation. My PE was not caused by DVT. I did not have sweating or swelling of the legs. My blood clot did not originated in my legs it originated in my lungs due to a deficiency.
It's not a poor explanation. Most cases of PE are the result of an already preexisting DVT. Your case was different...doesnt mean his explanation is wrong
