      Best tip ever. At the quantities Midway, Graf's and Brownell's buy, no one else is going to have the stuff. I was looking for some specific powder and found a web site that claimed they had it so I started to order 3 lbs. One thing I’ve found is that if they have every powder, bullet, or primer in stock it’s a scam website.

    I work in bank fraud and have for 6 years. Should you be had by these sites, call the company of the card you use and request a billing dispute, (do NOT say fraud or scam, this is KEY) state that you ordered products and have not been received, state the site appears to be fake an unable to contact merchants. If you say fraud or scam, you will go down a bad rabit hole.

      @North_Florida_War_Room what sort of rabbit hole? Can you please explain?

    • @keithtodd8631
      @keithtodd8631 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@aleisterbroley900 The first thing that happens is your card is canceled and new one with a new account number is sent out , so all and any auto payments have to be redone ! If you have auto payments to accounts you will have to make them individually and on time to avoid a late payment that will result in a report to the Credit Bureau and that will go on your credit report !

    • @tugboat_actual
      @tugboat_actual 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@keithtodd8631 not even close keith, first things first, it is not fraud if you got scammed, fraud is defined by the bank as "unauthorized" meaning you did not pay someone, or use the card yourself or someone else WITH permission. Example is gas pump skim, stolen wallet and card used etc. Second, you do not have to redo automatic billing or autopayments when you do what is called a security closure. Mastercom (what we call the HQ for mastercard) and Visa have auto updates in the system. Meaning if you have auto insurance automatically paid via card 1, the insurance will be provided the new card info automatically per CC agreement. Setting up autobill is agreeing to those terms and conditions of auto update. And should you have the monthly payment autodrafted from your bank, that info also transfers over to the new card #, literally only thing that changes during a security closure is the card #, exp and cvv. That is it. Now, the rabbit hole that i mentioned that will happen should it be disputed as fraud is that the bank has every right to hold you liable for said charges claimed fraud because you fell for the scam and authorized the transfer of card info to the merchant or scammer. When disputed as fraud, we the bank send a chargeback to the merchant (be it venmo, paypal, brownells etc) stating that this charge is fraud and we want our money back. The merchant has 45 days to represent the charge as valid with supporting docs as to why it is valid. Example of one case i worked was the 20ish year old kid stole dads CC, and ordered a $3k sex doll and had numerous emails back and forth with the merchant, asked if the sex doll would carry the rona since it was being made in china. The merchant provided billing and shipping info, ip location for the computer used for the transaction, etc. If the docs sent are valid then the customer may be rebilled for the disputed charge. If that happens and it is determined the customer had a billing dispute not fraud dispute, then they just lost all rights to file a billing dispute per FTC. So they have to pay the charges because they did the wrong dispute. That is the rabbit hole

    I ran into one of those websites while searching for primers. I ordered 6 bricks of CCI 34 primers but there was no way to pay that I could find. In about an hour I received an email from the company and they wanted me to pay by Zelle. I’d never heard of it but found my bank had what ever it is. That’s when I started thinking. How does this nobody have primers when the big companies don’t and why can’t I pay with my card. This sounds like a scam and there’s been a lot of that going around. I stumbled upon a gun store in the middle of no where in PA some years back when reloading stuff was hard to find; they had all kinds of stuff in stock so I stocked up on primers and powder. As times are tough again I figured I’d check them out and to my amazement they had primers in stock so I bought 1,000 CCI small pistol primers and 1lb of Accurate AA#7 a powder that has been rarer than gold of late. I’m always amazed by some of the mom and pops shops that still have things as they’re old school retailers that actually bought items to stock not just ordered things to shelve at or about the frequency that they sold; these supply chain issues are caused by this “in time production” and shelf only stocking so it’s always nice to see a place with stuff on the shelves. I recall a good size area gun store not having 20 long guns at one point while going to a whole in the wall place some 25 miles away to only fund hundreds of guns because people just didn’t know about it to over buy or maybe just were more reasonable customers.
    Sad to see people taking advantage of the desperate; hopefully things will settle down again but the way we’re going who knows when or even if that will happen.

    I nearly fell for one of these sites, but the lack of CC options tipped me off. Now, spotting these fraudulent sites is actually getting easier - since they claim to have primers at pre-pandemic prices when the legitimate retailers have absolutely nill primers. If these sites do list any contact info, it's actually kind of funny to see where their purported physical address shows up in Google Maps. I've seen their street addresses show up as elementary schools, grocery distribution centers, abandoned offices, and even a gated community in Coral Gables, FL. I also sometimes check their website URL with ICANN lookup for registrant info. Occasionally I get a hit that bears no relation to their "contact info." (If I had more primers I'd be doing more reloading and less goofing around with these fraudster websites...)

    I had a buddy desperate for Large rifle magnum primers because he got a custom muzzle loader that uses them. He dang near got scammed by a website. Luckily he had enough common sense to do a little asking around before falling for this. There are tons of ammo ones as well. If it’s too good to be true right now it is too good to be true. We don’t live in 2019 anymore. So if you see 2019 prices (unless you are paying in person and can examine) it’s not real. I hope we get back to decent prices one day. It’s not going to be soon though. Supply is getting better. But for prices to fall inventory is going to have to far outweigh demand like 2019. 🤞 There is no incentive to lower prices now.

    I have seen a few that just didn't seem quite right. I can't think of the name of the site but the site claimed to have primers and other items for sale. This was where it got fishy! Those other items were just a lot of other items, household stuff, garden stuff, toys, etc. and the name of the web store just didn't seem to fit. When I did a search to see if anyone had any reviews of this web store, there was nothing. So as bad as I needed primers, the risk was far too high.

    Yea.....i almost got scammed but stopped the process when they wanted Zelle or whatever it is as payment.
    I notice that these websites tend to have the same template and may be run by the same person or group.
    They usually have a chat popup that says "we are here to help" and asks to chat with them. Also, they have the same reviews for the product. There is also a message along the lines of "(Person's name) in Y city just bought product X"
    Damn....I really wanted some Blue Dot powder :(

    Another way to ID a fake site is they are not legitimate business'. Therefore their contact page will have squat for actual information like an address or a legit contact. Thank you for making this video, it makes me angry too. I will not buy from anywhere that I don't know to be a reputable business. I just sent a message to CCI yesterday saying they should do something about it, because the fake sites are engaging in fraud with THEIR products.

    I look at reloading as relaxing. The cost is so high and I haven’t found primers in a very long time. It’s getting where the the bullets are cheaper just to buy them at my range (small pistol). It’s kinda weird.

      I've found primers locally in Nevada and I'm on the email list for midway. Picked up 3k cci450 primers last month. They are out there just have to do the leg work and even at .11 a pop I'm loading 9mm, 357, 10mm, 223, 6.5 creedmore, and 22-250 for less than half what factory ammo is. I actually never use to reload 9mm tell just recently because it's so much cheaper. 🍻 here's to hoping consumables make a come back next year.

    • @cleetismcdougall5425
      @cleetismcdougall5425 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, 9mm isn’t worth reloading right now unless you are really bored and don’t use the primers or powder for any other caliber.
      It’s barely worth it to reload 45ACP.
      Just save the brass after you shoot for better days.

    Thanks for the fraud info. I'm brand new to reloading. Can anyone recommend a reputable site for primers, brass, and powder? I'm in Hawaii so I don't even know if it will ship, or if I need to involve an FFL. Even the FFL's out here charge $100 for a pistol transfer. I'm afraid to look locally for reloading supplies, they'll either be out of stock or price gouging. Any help would be appreciated.

    Recently, Academy Sports and Outdoors started carrying primers. I think a lot of folks jumped on the band wagon because they are getting scarce again. At least I was able to get several thousand at $5.99/sleeve. Also, Cabelas and Bass Pro shops are starting to carry primers again. I bought a brick of CCI500 and a 1# bottle of Titegroup at one of the local stores in the Houston area. $64.99 for the primers. I forgot what the powder cost. At least it didn't have shipping and a $20 Hazmat fee.

    I sent an email to Colt store and asked them if they were affiliated with Colt Firearms. No reply. They listed things like Colt SSA's for the retail price. In stock. I setup an account but didn't buy anything. Later, I was at the Colt Foram and the guys were saying they were scammers. I guess we have the same problem with a Winchester store. Beware!
