    Your experience along with your advice will hopefully help me tomorrow my 2002 chev silverado 4.3 it all of a sudden has multiple misfires and is running like crap cold or hot...its like it has a bad miss and backfires...so I am going to start with plugs, wires, and clean the MAF and get a Accel distributor cap...one at a time and check/start the truck in between each to see if that's it..but the comment on the distributor sensor has me wondering if I should start there....I guess I will find out...

    On the door hindges I took some sheetmetal same thickness filled in the hole welded triangle plates top in bottom to add thickness and drilled slight over size and sleeveved the hole back to factory specs. Has never had any issues since

    @8:20 - Door Hinge Repair. My Dad took everything out. He went to home depot and got some nuts and bolts. He put it all together with just nuts and bolts. It doesn't swing like it should but it will work just like a house door. *NOTE:* Don't forget, once you do this, it's like a house door. Don't open wide on the street or on high way, it will swing out full open if there's wind, etc...

      I’m using the 5 inch bolts and washers and my doors work as they should, did you put the bolts the same way the pins went? Top pin goes up and bottom goes down, if done that way it should open and close just like the factory pins. BTW, you can also order titanium pins and bushings but they are $100 bucks per door, I refuse to pay that lol

      @@jamiel3504 - As I recall, there is a stopper in the door itself, to prevent the door open too wide, etc.... My Dad decided to take it all out because it's all worn, that is why it behaves like a house door. LOL

    I have a 03 astro 4.3 Once a year I replace the distributor cap & rotor. And keep a cheap spare set in my van. Tried everything.. vent screens in and out, new distributor.. sealed around cap, dielectric grease inside etc.. nothing helped. I use the $60 Mallory or accell cap with $20 rotor. This cap has copper contacts. Seems to last longer

  • @aliasfred

    The grommets are called "bushings" check your pins also, they will get wear rings where they make contact with worn bushings.

    • @jamiel3504
      @jamiel3504 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, they are total garbage, I used 5 inch bolts and washers, no door sagging whatsoever. It really works well and will never have to replace

    Great video. I’m having the same issue with my 2000 Blazer. ******Any Help will be appreciated *******At Cold, I would get a P0785, 3/2 down shift solenoid code. I’ve changed the solenoid in the transmission but still get this code at cold start. After it reaches operational temperature I could clear it and it’ll stay off. Also. Random misfire while engine is running. Sometimes it’s cylinder 1 code, sometimes Cylinder 4. But replaced the distributor cap and still get codes for it. Abs and Brake on dash comes on if rolling forward but not if I go in reverse. I’m hoping that’s just a speed sensor I’ll replace that when I do the front end suspension. My main concern is why I get P0785 at cold and it goes away after the temperature of the engine reaches operational temp.

    I believe the cams flat in a 94 4.3 I been working on. Pops back through the throttle body constantly when it's revved. Won't idle,etc.

    On my 2000 express 4.3 the distributor sensor was intermittent and replacing it fixed the problem. 35.00 after i replaced the EGR Plugs Wires Cap. Just saying its worth changing before the cost gets away from you.

    What were the symptoms your vehicle had? My friend has a 97 C1500 WT that sputters and jerks under normal acceleration (cold), Give it more gas and it smooths out. I know a limited amount of info about the trucks maintenance.

    The GM distributor is a plastic piece of shit. The shaft wobbles and throws the dreaded P0300 code. The MSD replacement is the best option. It has an aluminum housing.
