    I am from Fukuoka. Fukuoka is a wonderful city that is still unknown to many Western tourists.❤

      Completely agree - it's difficult for many tourists who only go to Japan for a couple of weeks. I feel that too many people spend too long in Tokyo when there are so many other amazing places to visit (like Fukuoka!)

      Wow thank you for such a nice comment! We love Fukuoka, it might be our 2nd favourite city in Japan (behind sapporo). The vibe is so cosmopolitan and it feels like you're in the Mediterranean with the super warm but breezy weather

    Nice clip which I now pass on to friends in Europe who might want to travel. I lived in Nakasu for many years, just love Fukuoka. It is safe, clean and well functioning and food is great. Lots of BS on the Internet about Nakasu being red light district and worrying. Not at all so, it is very safe. One thing which I also liked is that it is flat, not like Nagasaki for example. I bicycled far every day, all year around. Other areas which I liked were Yakuin, Shirogane, north of Ohori Park and out in Ohashi. Now retired and back in Europe, but I do miss my Fukuoka.

    Thank you for sharing your take on Fukuoka. The last time I came here was last year in August but it was during the biggest Typhoon to hit the Island so all of our planning and film plans were out the window so watching this guide has given me some ideas for the shoot coming up in Autumn. You're amazing!

    This is useful. I have passed through Fukuoka (on the way to Mount Aso and Sakurajima) but I'm keen to go back to check out the city's famous "food scene" (!?), and if I saw Fukuoka Tower I'd probably think about it for a minute and then decide against it. Now I know it's worth the ¥‎800 and the 30-45 minutes... 🙏

    • @wegoeast
      @wegoeast  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The food scene is amazing! Lots to try, especially at the Yatai! There are loads all over the city (like mini izakayas) and each serves different food. If you Google "fukuoka yatai map" you should choose one that isn't in a heavy concentration of yatai as you'll have a better experience. Fukuoka tower and the nearby beaches are great in summer

      Thank you! We use the Canon M50 (Canon Kiss EOS in Japan), with a Rode Video Micro microphone in all our videos! We mainly use the stock 15-45mm lense, but also have the 22mm lense for low light. Its a brilliant little camera and we can't recommend it more!

    • @wegoeast
      @wegoeast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tough question, both are amazing cities with very different vibes. I think Hiroshima just takes the crown though, due to the fact its so walkable whereas Fukuoka is a bit more spread out. (Also we have friends that live in Hiroshima so we're a bit biased)

    Would I have a lot of trouble traveling to Fukouka without Japanese? I know some phrases but I know practically zero Japanese.

    • @wegoeast
      @wegoeast  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think youll be fine 🙂 Fukuoka is a big city, with a reasonable foreign population (relative to japan) and is a big tourist destination. My top tip is to always try your best to at least speak a bit of japanese, and you'll get a friendly reaction. My top tip is to Google "useful japanese phrases", go on images, and to screenshot one then save it as your phone lock screen / background. That way you'll always have it available!

    Question: where did you leave your luggages if you have any?

    • @wegoeast
      @wegoeast  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The easiest thing to do is to put your luggage in one of the large luggage lockers in Hakata Station (I think its around ¥700 for the day). Lockers are very common and very safe, and will have signs in english so are easy to find. If you're staying at a hotel but are checking out THAT day, you can leave your luggage at the hotel free of charge!
