Shizuka is not going anywhere! She is this show. The way she speaks to people with respect and how she looks when she is all dolled up. That cannot be replaced. The food yeah that's great but what you will remember is how gorgeous she looked today.
Seeing Shizuka so exciting and happy in that tour makes me want to go to Japan too, this Fukuoka Tour (Traditional Fukuoka) obviously is on my bucket list right now!
Konnichiwa Shizuka San. I liked the “TRADITIONAL FUKUOKA” experience. I’m grateful and thankful that you shared with us and we’re flying to Japan this week and exploring for the first time❤
Nice. This city is the obvious entry point for Kyushu, but sadly when i did my island-wide trip, it is the place I spent the least time in. But glad to know there are things like this there we can enjoy outside of Kyoto where maiko/geiko are most famous for
hi Shizuka, from a Canadian to another Canadian, it was really nice to see you feature the city I called home for the past 3 and a half years. It was really nice to see this "TRADITIONAL FUKUOKA" that many people including myself have not had a chance to experience. I do want to shout out to the Japan by Food team that I really love your colour grading work on your videos. May I ask if it originated from a Lumix or BlackMagic camera?
Would say Traditional Fukuoka as well, but i already live in Fukuoka, so a tour seems unnecessary. Really glad to see this city get some attention though!! It is definitely one of my top 3 locations in all of Japan, but is usually overshadowed by the main tourist cities sadly. For anyone interested, i would highly recommend visiting all of kyushu on a Japan trip if youre more interested in nature and a more relaxing experience than places like tokyo, kyoto, osaka, and hiroshima.
Hi! I’m visiting in the fall with two friends, any particular cities, parks, or hikes you would recommend in Kyushu? Looking to stay in Hakata for a little over a week with some day trips and can’t wait to check out this beautiful part of the world
@Mixupmomo If youre looking for in town stuff to do, there are a lot of parks near the coast up around fukuoka tower, along with thr 2 most famous parks maizuru and ohori. If you are looking for stuff more out of the downtown areas. Itoshima is filled with beautiful beaches and lots of pretty hikes looking out over the shore. It is a bit more difficult to get to unless you rent a car tho. To the south of the city you have dazaifu which is basically an old temple district, it also has some hikes, and a really big museum above the temples with some interesting things! Oita is to the east known for its hotsprings and has a lot of traditional Japanese inns, as well as the more mountainous regions between fukuoka prefecture and Oita prefecture. Which has many beautiful hikes and more rural towns. If you have the option to rent a car (unsure if you can bus to it) to the south in kumamoto-ken, you can go up to the Aso volcano which is pretty crazy, all the way to the far south in kagoshima there is also a large island with a large active volcano that you take a ferry to, and then can go around the entire island on bus checking it out. Sadly that one is a bit hit or miss, if the volcano is somewhat active a lot of the hiking trails in the area within a certain area around the volcano are closed. One of my personal favorite spots, up near fukuoka tower on the beach there are these giant stone walkways that go out into the ocean. Everytime my friends or family have come to visit. We go grab a couple drinks, walk out there, and just sit watching people fish, drink, chitchat, and listen to/watch the waves rolling in.
@@arbitration2481 thank you so much!! I've taken notes and I'm more excited than ever to explore Kyushu :) genuinely appreciate you taking the time to reply
Late to the notification because of working the restaurant buildup the past few days, but still glad to catch Shizuka-nee with a NEW COOL JACKET!! please keep more of them coming :D :D Also, the Kimono really turns her from Shizuka-neesan to Shizuka-hime :> :>
I really enjoy your videos of Japan, my wife and I are from Honolulu, Hawaii and try to go to Japan as much as we can. We will be in Fukaoka January 2025 and was wondering if you could recommend a tour guide for us, it would special if you were to be our guide. Thank you Bernie
Here’s a video idea. I’m a matcha lover. How about a video with a matcha expert who explains the different matcha styles of preparation, usucha vs koicha, history, how it became part of tea ceeremony, etc.
I wonder if that traditional rhythm game was a drinking game since it was done with a sake cup. It would make a really fun one especially a few cups in when it's harder to keep the rhythm.😂
Shizuka, you look so pretty in the kimono. please stay hosting this show. No one else can replace you.
She looks like a princess!
Shizuka is not going anywhere! She is this show. The way she speaks to people with respect and how she looks when she is all dolled up. That cannot be replaced. The food yeah that's great but what you will remember is how gorgeous she looked today.

TRADITIONAL FUKUOKA… I had a bit of a chuckle at how it might be pronounced phonetically, however I suppressed my inner 12 year old.

You definitely drink if you lose:D
TRADITIONAL FUKUOKA
If a kimono is so difficult to put on, what did the people wear as they when about their chores before western clothing became common place in Japan?
They wore kimono! But they were of course much more practiced with putting it on themselves, and wore less elaborate kimono for daily work :)
