- Hello, I hope you liked the video, a Nike 16HB Harvey Frost jack
This rather attractive jack is actually made by Nike in Sweden. Imported to England for supply via Harvey Frost.
It's described as a bumper jack, but apparently the lift arm fits perfectly into the square chassis tube.
Offered with Gordon-Cable cars from 1964 to 1966 (100 cars).
This antique jack was in the corner of the warehouse and I saw it was a good project for restoration, but I emphasize very much that it was very, very rusty. I separated the jack parts with difficulty and with the help of brake oil, the jack piston was stuck I took a lot of trouble to remove it from its place. After disassembling the jack parts, I washed them all well with detergent to remove any grease and then sandblasted them except for the jack cylinders.
Sandblasting did not work and I put them again in a pan of rust removal solution for 24 hours and completely removed them with a wire brush. I will remove the part that has a chain and goes up and down along with all its accessories and start the restoration from this part. I do it, it got stuck and it was very difficult to start, all the screws were released with difficulty and with the help of brake oil. And I sprayed the red paint that is used for most of the jacks on them. I polished some of the parts and then I painted a layer of chrome on them with electrolytic nickel chrome.
I opened and rebuilt the rest of the parts of my road that were very rusty with difficulty
welcome. My name is Behnam and this is the How to restoration channel. My grandfather was a carpenter and my father continued to do the same, and since I have lived with tools since I was a child, I have a strong interest in them. I believe that old tools It should not be thrown away, it should be restored and used again. I believe that everything that is older and has been made before has a solid structure and is very durable and made with principles. All tools today are mass produced with very low quality. My way of thinking is that I was born in 1990 and I will leave the world once, so I do what makes me feel good.I haven't tested many tools yet and I want to reach them one day and my art. I will create with those tools. I earn from TH-cam and if you want to support me in this way, I would appreciate it if you subscribe to my channel and follow the videos.

It said on the sticker Gordon Cable, the car was Gordon Keeble. It was a hand built upmarket car with an American V8, a grand tourer.
Fun restoration! A lot of different skills went into doing it and making it so nice in form and fiction.
I don’t understand why people feel the need to “correct” someone on how they do this sort of work. This is how you wanted to do it and how far you wanted to restore/improve.
Fantastic job!! Really enjoyed it.
Yes, that's right, thank you for your understanding
I have never seen a jack like that before. Splendid restoration job you did on that Swedish jack. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work.
Your support means the world❤️🙏
Some don’t like it, but I like that you use filler to smooth rough surfaces. The Jack itself lets you know it’s old so making it look as new as possible is great. Very nice work. Especially with making a new hook. Well done 👍

I enjoyed the brazing. Many restoration amateur hacks will weld cast iron, which creates majorly _reduced_ strength in the heat-affected weld zone. Nicely done here.
👌👏
Excellent work

cool jack and nice work.. I would never use it with a painted lift rod.
Me neither
Great job!!!!! The film is very well EDITED, but some general plans are missing. And a show of how this jack works would be useful. Greating from Poland.
That’s so kind of you🙏🙏
*Outstanding Video:* Good camera work and editing. The close-ups really stand out nicely.
Thank you very much!
Some extremely good REPAIRS/restoration👏. I believe some have a problem with the word "Restoration" because of the difference in meaning between the words.👍
Great point!
Fantastic restoration
Many thanks!

It's not, this jack is great
@@HowToRestoration it's a Finnish joke, dont worry about it
@joshthecomputertech I did not know that 😄
Hello, I have taken apart many antique and rusty old stuff and never once have I had a teardown where something didn't go flying somewhere. How would I help to minimize this a little?
I did not understand your question
@@HowToRestoration sorry about that. I was wondering how you knew where everything was. Springs bearings. I would have lost one.

Bravissimo ma ti faccio una domanda. Dove hai trovato le parti in gomma? Credo sia stata la cosa più difficile.
I left the rubber parts and packaging to my friend and he did it for me.
So it's a hydraulic high lift jack for 4x4 vehicles?
Yes 👍
Molto bello! 👍 cosa usi per annerire il gancio?
Super blue

Well done 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice work 👍👌
I appreciate it❤️🙏
no way i'd trust that brazing repair to last. Strong as it may be, it'll fail again. That hook is much too weak. it's probably a fundamental problem with this design to begin with.
This jack is a collectible and has its place in the collection and is not supposed to work anymore. It is now retired.
Perfect❤
🙏❤️
I think you mean Gordon Keeble?
I don't know much about this jack, if you have correct information about this jack, please email me or write me in the comments section so that I can update the information, thank you very much.

so nice video
That’s so kind of you🙏🙏

So thanks bro❤️
Nice job. But there is something that doesn't work for me. The hook is made of cast steel and has probably undergone some kind of reinforcement. How can you weld welding steel to it??
This jack is not supposed to be used and should be kept in the collection because there are only 100 of them made in the world.
What year exactly do you know about this jack?

1966?
Yes
@@HowToRestoration but you told us it was a 100yrold jack..
@@efimkrivov Dear friend, it was imported to England from Switzerland on that date by a person named Harvey Frost.
This is an antique and I couldn't find any info on this jack on google or the rest of the internet!

Gordon-Cable? Not Gordon-Keeble? I looked up Gordon-Cable but only found Gordon-Keeble which made just 100 cars from 1964 to 1967 (and had a seriously cool logo which featured a tortoise even though the Corvette-engined cars were actually fast, lol.)
Thanks

Question about the title: what is "svenska knekt"?
Apparently, he wants to translate the concept of Sweden into Swedish (Google Translate).
Other languages are translated by artificial intelligence, so it is not expected.
Good job, but slightly over restored. As a lot of TH-cam restorers do. Don’t use filler on a rough casting, takes the character away.
I myself am sensitive about this issue and I never want to destroy the originality of the product. The purpose of the filler is to make the piece look a little cleaner.
Interesting opinion, but that it is I feel it looks better.
I hate the rough casting especially rusted ones. So it's just personal opinions.
