- Bad weather today, so we had a change of video programming.
A few tests conducted beofre we go ahead and remove the 300tdi engine for a deeper overhaul/inspection. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I like that under bonnet light bar and I like that sniffer! Very interesting tutorial
Top video dude, thanks man
Educational as always 😀
another well informed vid there Chris, nice one
Cheers bud. I'm afraid the D2 diff is not going into the Disco. I've installed it to someones 90 today.
Chris great vid as usual. Sorry to hear that 2018 is you're last year of video making but I totally understand why. I wish I had the resources to enable you to keep making Land Rover videos. But sincere thanks for sharing your expertise over the last few years.
Ah, I thnk you slightly misunderstood. I said it was the last year of doing free videos because I need to look after my pension fund.
Awesome videos as always, you briefly mention about pressurising the header tank, have you covered this in other videos before? I think I may have this issue with my 300tdi but I also have a split header tank so I'm wondering which is the chicken and which is the egg. It's a long wait for me to get parts to New Zealand :)
Jealous of your oil pressure i was running 15-40 and on a hot aussie summer day 4wding my oil pressure got bad down 7 psi at idle and the tappets were ticking. Have since switched to 20-60 and have 15psi at idle and now a solid 35 psi at running. Might switch back to 15-40 in winter..
LandRoverLife 20/60 bloody hell- 200 should be 20/50 300 tops 15/40 is what I run with no probs - lads round here use 10/30 and all ways complain about engine problems - plus 15/40 leaks slower 😁
plumbc007 well idk where you live but gets hot here like 35-40 celcius and my water temp 100 up to 110 on some of the big climbs. Plus my motor has done 470,000klms so shes a bit worn
Land Rover list 15W-40 as being suitable from -10 to +50 so I think you need an engine overhaul, especially after 470,000 km (292,000 miles). What was your running pressure on 15W-40 at approx. 2000 rev/min? It sounds marginal on 20W-60.
on those days barely 20psi. Yeah probably does need an overhual but it's not something i plan on doing. Land Rover might say that but from what i read people in south africa and australia struggle with oil in high temps. 20-60 does the job my clearances are probably big enough the thicker oil does ok. In winter i have had no issues with oil pressure car runs closer to 82 most of time till you get into some serious climbs up tracks
What's your oil temperature (if you have a gauge)? That can be a clue in itself of engine load.
Thought I'd watched this video?? I have a TD4 Freelander (my daughter drives that) and a VW LT35 SDI (non turbo'd) van (his name is 'Moby Dick' as he is a bit of a whale...and he is white) but being a diesel and with a VE pump so much of these videos can be directly related to 'him'. ...
