Quite unbelievable just how capable the M8 Gran Coupe is when you consider how big and heavy it is. It is literally defying the laws of physics, especially when an ICE car doesn't have the benefit of a low center of gravity like a BEV car does. Your driving is simply awesome, Misha!

They were the ones who provided the rims and tires cause the car itself wasn’t a press car or anything like that, this car was back then owned by a very nice guy and he was asked if he would provide the car to Grip for filming purposes. Did it also have the upgrade turbos? Because 7+sec 100-200 is not 820hp. My stage 1 F90 M5 does it in 6 sec on stage 2 tune with stock DP's but with only me in it and has "only" 720hp...

Misha, when we talk consumables I often think of tyres and brakes, but how much of a difference is fuel consumption compared to a light weight, low power car, or a race car? This thing looks like it just consumed 1/4 - 1/3 of a tank in 1 lap!!!

Few weeks back similar car(m850 tunned) crashed into kia proceed and killed family 2+1(5yo) on Polish motorway A1. Driver was going before emergency breaking 310km/h and on Impact he was going probably 253kmh(data from BMW ecu). After impact kia bursted in flames due to fuel tank damage and they burned alive screaming for help. This cars are nice, but please keep pushing them to the limits on track.
I'm not a big bmw fan anymore i feel like they have lost the motorsport focus they used to have but it is refreshing seeing a beautiful and well setup car like this. Imagine how crazy it would be with cup 2 r tires.

It's quck but it does not seem to accelerate like a 800 plus HP M8/M5 should. The speedo should be jumping in nearly 10km/h increments from lower speeds like 80 km/h at that power level. Ive had seat time in a 800 plus horse M5 and it was a lot more savage than what is being demonstrated by this car!

I agree to some extent, but Doug's scores always felt kinda arbitrary and inconsistent. Summarizing the entire subjective feel of a car with a couple numbers doesn't account for enough nuance.

My rule is still - 400+ hp - helmets!! Or some power to weight ratio that I haven't worked out yet... Still, Misha is such a confident driver and knows the track so well I guess it negates this a little... But it's not Misha's driving that concerns me, it's other cars. One day you will pass someone who's over on the right, seemingly aware of your approach and the general track etiquette who will be utterly unaware of either and turn in for an apex or suddenly move over for any number of reasons. On that day your heads should be covered!!! Anyways, great vid and awesome car. I'm just a worrier. x
Well The merc did 6.45 on the ring empty. This did just over 8.0 minutes. 7.20 empty ring maybe the best you would get. It is not based on a Gt3 racecar.
Only thing I’ll say as a motorcycle rider is to stay a bit further back from bikes in the turns. Obviously it’s annoying but some people aren’t 100% confident and a brief second of doubt can have them target fixate and lose the track. It’s a different kind of challenge riding a track. It’s a bit weird to me having cars and bikes on the same course at the same time but whatever.
Casual conversation while going balls to the wall in a 820hp rocket, that’s just awesome!

BMWs usually have pretty sharp turn in for their size
Especially AWD. I am used to seeing Audi AWD plowing into corners. Did not realize how serious the M8 is. Really impressive car.
