You want one, I hope you either have deep pockets to maintain its engine correctly, especially if things start to need replacement, or you get a fresh one you only keep long enough to experience and sell....as others have mentioned.... glorious things, even better engine, but man 😅
@@zerooneonetwothree1872 As long as the VANOS system has been replaced by the updated version, and the big end bearing job is done(both *very* pricey repairs), they're quite maintainable. Friend of mine went through all that, and drove it daily for 8 years(and for doing that, he's one of my alltime Heroes!). Nowadays it's sort of retired and used mainly for roadtrips.
Owner looks like this one lap compensated for all the difficulties he might have had in life 😄 BTW, Misha's ability to switch languages is on some PDK lvl! I admire it so much! Pure respect for maintaining the knowledge, Misha keeping it real throughout the years!
There's just something so special about that V10 M motor! I'd love to see Misha in a BMW M6 with upgraded suspension and brakes. I'm sure it would be the ultimate power cruiser for the Nürburgring. 👌
This is one of the biggest reasons I am learning to drive on track. I want to be able to reach my cars limits and not let it go to waste. Just look at how excited and happy that guy is to experience it!

My favourite german car on my favourite german circuit. Being in an e60 m5 on the nordschleife would be heaven for me. This is my favourite video on this channel to date. And the sound of the s85 is absolutely superb.

Still like BMW although I'm a bigger benz fan than BMW, BUT, i have a huge soft spot for the e60 m5. I was taken for a drive in one, and the engine made the experience feel different to any other 4 door car i have been in because of the power delivery (makes all of its power up high in the rev range and no torque down low). And the sound is to die for

I love the SMG boxes too. I used to sell BMWs 2001-2007, and I loved the SMG-II on the E-46 M3, CS and CSL, and the ‘box on the E60 M5… but not many did. You needed to have very smooth and precise throttle control to drive these gearboxes smoothly, but not many people (salesmen or punters) took the time to learn to drive these smoothly. Many happy memories of howling down the A21 outside Tunbridge Wells with the SMG clicked to max, and the jolt at every gear change at max rpm. Seemed so much more raw, earthy and guttural than the smooth shifts you get with PDK and current auto boxes. The dance music was soooooo much better then as well 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You forgot about one E61, Misha ;) This seemed like a nice example. For the smoothest shifts use M-mode, DSC off and the fourth setting on the gearbox. Sixth if you're feeling adventurous :D

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. A lot of people with cars like that drive them occasionally fast on a highway or autobahn, but almost nobody gets to the type of limit the cars are capable off. At the same time they talk about "Oh I bought a car that does X:XX minutes on the nürburgring." or some shit just to flex and have the "highest spec" in teh garage. It#s kind of idiotic to me. Why pay the M/AMG/RS premium when the biggest regular engine with a sport package would safe them money and suffice plenty for their daily needs.
I would love to see any E63 6-series with you behind the wheel. The E60 gets all the love and praise, I think its often overlooked that the E63 is the same weight (could be lighter with no rear seats ect..) and was used by Alpina for racing as the B6 GT3.
Amazing how much confidence Misha has in someone else car. Honestly never seen an M5 of that age go so fast in stock form. But that E36 near the beginning was definitely not stock.
Same as i said before, that's why we love you and your channel. The smile and his face of amazing things happening and feeling for the owner of the car while you're pushing the cars limit is E V E R Y T H I N G we need to see on a weekend.

Misha doing russian while pushing bloody e60 M5 on the track with some scared guy on passenger seat is most premium gopnik thing we can see. The only thing missing here is a Kalashnikov, which flies out from under the seats on some curbstone.

By far not the fastest but lap, but the V10 sound and the owners reaction make it one of my favourites so far :) He was in complete awe of what his car is capable of.
Misha you about to give this man a heart attack!!! Love the V10 sound. One of my favorite sound track from M division. The m cars had glorious engines before they got nurtured by eco cars. Great driving always.. just take it easy on unexpected passengers.
I forget how ROUGH the SMG gearbox was, wow! Those were the "peak technology" back in the day, and I genuinely forget how rough it is when comparing to DCT or ZF 8HP!

Just get a volvo 5 cylinder and slap on the s65 itbs, you get the same sound experience for way less albeit less luxurious

The E60 is, in my opinion, one of the best stock cars to have ever been sent down the Nurburgring. Not only by you, but also BMW M racers themselves.

Misha doing russian while pushing bloody e60 M5 on the track with some scared guy on passenger seat is most premium gopnik thing we can see. The only thing missing here is a Kalashnikov, which flies out from under the seats on some curbstone.
I really enjoyed watching the lap. Not bad for an old E60 M5.

By far not the fastest but lap, but the V10 sound and the owners reaction make it one of my favourites so far :) He was in complete awe of what his car is capable of.
Owner is happy, Misha is happy and we are happy!

Misha you about to give this man a heart attack!!! Love the V10 sound. One of my favorite sound track from M division. The m cars had glorious engines before they got nurtured by eco cars. Great driving always.. just take it easy on unexpected passengers.
I forget how ROUGH the SMG gearbox was, wow! Those were the "peak technology" back in the day, and I genuinely forget how rough it is when comparing to DCT or ZF 8HP!
