Here's my extended thoughts on the future of DC with both the DCU slate and DC Elseworlds. Hope you enjoy it and don't forget to let me know down below where you currently stand on the future of DC.
I have so much excitement for this new DC Universe. The potential is so vast and everything that's been said so far about it has put a smile on my face. These movies can be more than just action flicks or fun 2 hour rides. This universe can bring inspiration and heroes everyone can look up to. Along with stories that make us really think and appreciate
I personally am only interested in the DC elseworlds, just like what cortex has said i am more attracted to artistic driven films and realism/ grounded stories. I like innovation and uniqueness of styles, i couldn't care less about connected . I couldn't care less about connected universes, but i would like to see more films about the joker. One idea i had for example was what if batman was just a regular police force with a very goofy outfit. Basically like judge dread style or something. But i hope they just don't focus on villains but heroes as well.

I am all for Dc having a plan finally and hopefully this means the dc movies will finally focus on quality over quantity which I am all for that way more then a cinematic universe in my opinion.

I hope James Gunn's DC Slate starts a better future for DC Movies and it should also surpass the MCU. I still love The Batman and I'm excited for The Batman Part II and Blue Beetle. I also want The Batman to get two trilogies like MCU Spider-Man and I hope Blue Beetle exceeds it's expectations when it releases in August of this year. For the DCEU, I enjoyed Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, The Justice League Snyder Cut, James Gunn's Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker.
I’ve never felt so good about DC, I’m so excited for the future! James and Peter know what they’re doing and this will be good. The Batman and Shazam have easily been the best DC movies of the last decade and I am honestly more hyped for The Batman Part 2 than the DCU slate so far. But the potential is unbelievable. There are so many movies and shows I have in my DCU wishlist.

I think that the main reason that the DC television series over the past few years were so successful was because they had one creative mind at the helm guiding the way and keeping things together. If Mr Gunn can do the same, we are in for good times ahead.

I think the DC Elseworld movies should be more geared towards adults being more similar to DC Black Label comics or Vertigo while the DCU tries to create a more faithful representation of the mainstream comics continuity

I never was a great fan of Elseworld. When comes to plans, like I said before - when you are planning to do a lot of things, in most cases barely a half become reality, the rest is either stopped due to lack of money or there are some problems with producer, directors and cast. I am looking forward for Batman, while for the rest I don't have much interest.

Why is Amanda Waller getting her own show??? She's a supporting character in DC fandom! Viola Davis is great! But she doesn't deserve HER own show! Robin deserves his own show over Batgirl or Waller! Hell, any of the Robins including Stephanie Brown! JG is terrible! PS is just a silent partner. None of them are listening to the most important factor in all this. The DC fandom!!! It may be promising but cutting Henry Cavill and keeping Ezra Miller was the wrong step! Watch DC stumble and fall again!!! *sheesh*
Matt reeves Batman and the 2019 Joker are the only DC stories worth watching.... its just good film making. James Gunn is going to crash and burn especially once Henry Cavill's production of Warhammer takes off.
You Snyder dolts vastly overestimate how much people in reality care about Henry Cavill Superman. And Warhammer is still gonna be years away to an entirely different audience lol

Even Marvel fans are divided these days after phase 4. Hopefully, they can recover after phase 5 and so can all DC fans throughout DCU chapter 1.
