- Introduction to Treme, a show based on 2005 Post Katrina New Orleans and the return of Bunk, I mean Wendell Pierce. The biggest complaint is that this show can't reach cable and most audiences. America is missing a hit that is much, much more than just music. Play for that money boys. Be sure to watch one of the best scenes of season 1: • Video
I think if they would’ve totally went all Hollywood with this it probably would’ve gotten better ratings and more attention. But thank the good Lord that they did NOT do that. They made a timeless piece. Something very real and unusual for these times. Hopefully someday people will recognize this and other efforts like it in this country. Huge props to Wendell Pierce. He was born and raised in New Orleans and he really makes the show pop.
Yeah, David Simon and his partner producers make magnificent shows. I liked this so much more than I previously thought I would. It was magnificent. Gave the Deuce another chance as well after previously turning it off because of Franco and wow. That show absolutely blew me away in the 3rd season. Really powerful show that stuck with me days after. This man has made multiple important television shows at this point.
This show was so good. It made me wanna move to New Orleans. 🤣🤣🤣
I use this show in teaching disaster recovery. It is so on the mark for the recovery issues. The fact it is brilliantly scripted and acted, and has a killer soundtrack makes it even better!
I was a second line extra in this series. What a good time!
I loved this show and wish they would not have cancelled it after 4 seasons...it was high Art...a real treat and rare these days to have work so good.
Agreed. Should’ve kept it going. But unfortunately it never really caught major attention. Not a big surprise though. Your general American audience in general is not a good audience. But this is one hell of a show that will have relevance years and decades from now.
I am from the UK and love this show.
Bone Collector, there it is.....🍏
From France.. I love this Treme's vibe .. This show is so powerfull.. I would like to seen it all over the country .. And more.. Those emotions ..
Bless you people, we are united all around and over the world..
Love is Music & Music is Love .
✊✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
Yes love it💪🏾
Mardi Gras 2021- we will rise next year bigger than ever.
To bad, Ida was bad, worst than Katrina.
I still get chills everytime I hear this.
I'm glad Bunk's soul wasn't so destroyed by Marlo getting out of jail that he could still make it down to New Orleans to play the bone.
HELL to the YES
@@drewacus8937 I didn't know he could blow the horn. Thought he stopped with a cigar!
@defuse56 lol
@@defuse56 he learned for the role (the sound is coming from a professional though). after reading that, having seen him I was surprised he didnt already grow up playing, fits him like a glove, really natural
instablaster...
This was one of my all-time favorite HBO shows. Years after it ended I was in NO with my wife and we had a cabbie drive us through The Treme. We didn't know at the time, but he was born and raised in The Treme and it was more interesting watching him recite the memories, especially when he drove us to Louis Armstrong's home where he played as a kid. What an experience and what a great show.
Ma série télé préférée. Vive la musique de la Nouvelle Orléans
My favorite television series. Long live the music of New Orleans
stéphane rozé Too right you are.
Play for that money boys, play for that motherfucking money
;-) Thanks you.
Been two times to NOLA all the way from Spain. This show was a master piece
This and The Wire have some of the best first episode cold opens ever. Long live David Simon.
The wire is the best show ever.
great television-gave me a love for jazz
Couldn’t agree more with the description - one of my favorite shows of all time. So much insight regarding the real events that took place after Katrina... I’ve only been twice but the moment I stepped foot in New Orleans I immediately understood why it’s such a beloved place.
The Bunk can play!
Dope intro for the show. Will miss it.
I'm glad someone finally uploaded this scene to youtube. Fantastic stuff, I missed the 2nd scene and I hope HBO does a marathon to catch up with season 3. Damn fine show and lovable characters

What a opening scene!! My God!!!
Why can't all TV just be like this?
8 yrs later I found your excellent comment and I love and agree with you..it would be a better world....I hope you're doing fine in these crazy covid times..let me know if you still alive and kickin my friend.
because then it wouldn't be special?
@@agenttheater5 What nonsense. We can appreciate good TV even if they were in abundance
Go to "Trombone Shorty Treme Scenes" in the column on the right. From 2:20 to about 5:45
wish this tv show available on turkey too. freakin' love this show's musics and jazz&blus but can't watch it all. what a miss
Pirating exists so our Turkish brethren can enjoy top-tier television that they might be otherwise region-locked out of. Do it with a clear conscience!
First time I heard do whatcha wanna, me and my people lost our minds. Wish my knees could still do what my mind wanna but I'm kinda old now so I just walk no drop
Y'all do know that Wendell Pierce is born & bred NOLA, right?
amilookingatchoo yup him and my uncle was good buddy’s
Does so much for community as well
I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing.
Wendell and Janice are soul mates.
Represent NOLA FOR LIFE
Wendell Pierce 🤗🤗🤗🤗😍
This is real & how we live in New Orleans.
I uploaded the clip and Im not from New Orleans. I just love how the show is about the people and not about the places in NOLA. People with a culture about respecting traditions, celebrating life and a resiliency that is to be admired. We need more of this in this country.
love this show
Just go to New Orleans! They will welcome you!
Clip from the movie, but this is how we live.
I hope Wendell P gets to play Satchmo!

Still the best TV show ever made, alongside Battlestar Galactica
My friend speakerlvr showed me this. It’s super cool
WOW! he betta play that bone!
Yesss baby
Fantastic how things affect you. turned on the clip when i was texting a friend and i started to notice how the words started to come out differently.. goes to say you "are" your thoughts, actions aswell as you surroundings
Antoine Baptiste aka Wendell Pierce aka Bunk "Bunky" Moreland
The Bunk.
three months after :))))))))
Awesome!
When I first saw this I wished with all my heart Wendel pierce could tear it up that good on a bone. Shame.
It kicks!
Gotta see that city.
So, ok, if they bleep the syllables, the audience won't KNOW he's actually saying "play for the muthafuckin money??"...Go, YT censorship. So utterly..pointless..
I truly hope I spread enough love in this life to have a second line - like they really give a shit (including being white wlol). I can die more than happy then. ;)
Funky Bunk - Bunky Funk !
Does anyone know what kind of King trombone he's playing with? His bell seems bigger than any other tenortrombone Ive seen.
What a great idea. Hawai has the flowers, New orleans should have Music and sell samples of local food. What a great way to promote Tourism.
Not as good as The Wire but it’s SO a TV show for people who liked the flavour of The Wire.
Nonsense!! It's even better because it can afford to get more specific than The Wire's scope. Even if The Wire is apparently about Baltimore, it's much more sweeping than that. While Treme can only be about New Orleans, and be the more intimate show for it.
got dat right
Actually this skips the opening scene of the show.
Wow!
I would love to!!!
🙏🙏🙏 Que suerte los que todavía no la han visto 🙏🙏🙏
Can anybody tell me the name of the pianist, S2 E4 end titles Let it Rain let it rain let it rain. Nita.
There something kind of cringey about this whole NOLA " vibe. First of all there's the word " nawlins" second the caucasians can't dance for shit, They look foolish in the street there and its embarrassing, third the music is ok but not that great, just kind of jazz played badly and the food is not that good- they just take French cuisine and add a bunch of cayenne pepper to it and whatever toxic seafood they get out of the gulf.
Your entire post is cringe.
Caucasians are from the Caucasus. I was unaware Georgians, Chechens, Armenians, Azerbaijanis, and Dagestani folks frequented Nawlinz! Don’t get me started on the Ossetians!
this seems like so long ago all of a sudden. the 00s!
