    Another great vid with some good tips, again, thanks.
    Tips.
    If I am travelling and I know I am going to fly, I carry a stick deodorant because there is no liquids which are banned on flights. I have seen that several are now available in 1/2 ounce (14g) sizes, making them small, light, and ideal for travel.
    Wet wipes dry out if you leave them open. So leave them open to dry out, and then wet them again before you want to use them. But yes, soap and water is better for the environment. However, wet wipes are better than a bowl of water and cloth, if you need to freshen up your nether regions when there is little chance of privacy.
    Just my 2c.

      Yes, true. Good points Mark. The deodorant stick is a good one too. Thanks.

      Hey there, friend. Thanks for checking in again on my latest vid. Yes, you’re right, for one night you can be very minimalistic, which is nice and convenient. I hope you’re still enjoying your new ‘baby’. ⛺

      Very nice idea Blair! When you’re out for several days, a few home comforts never goes astray. 😀 What brand is the toothbrush? I might have to get one.

    Lavilin deodorant is amazing. It has probiotics in it which means that the odor is gone/considerably minimised and its lasts a few days between applications. It's a cream. They do tiny sample packs, which last a month.
    I also have a Kula cloth, which is a reusable washable pee cloth. I recommend them. There are some similar products being made in NZ.
    Another item that I include is a Norwex glasses cleaning cloth, no need for glasses cleaning fluid/spray, and they do a really good job.

      @@wildmountainman1 They're designed for women, well anyone who wipes after peeing :) Quick drying and don't smell, just chuck them in the wash when you get home (rinse out on multi day trips).

      Ok thanks. I suppose I imagine a potentially smelly cloth hanging on your pack. Or have I got it all wrong?

    I should have added, "Trim your toe nails before your trip!" Although not a toiletry, it's a nice bit of preparation to do prior to hiking out so you don't wear a hole in your socks and so that your toenails don't scrape or jam up at the front of your shoes. I picked up this lovely tip from fellow camper and mom. Also, I found that a 100% linen hand towel is sufficient to dry my whole body and dries rather quickly. However, I don't use this to wipe down my tent just in case it's too abrasive.

    • @wildmountainman1
      @wildmountainman1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really good points. There’s also nothing like an ingrown toe nail either! 🥲 As spring is almost upon you have you got any trips planned?

      @@wildmountainman1 We spent the day at some camps but couldn't stay overnight. For most of July, we'll be returning to Hawaii to see my folks and some friends. I'm probably not going to camp out since there will already be enough to do. If I change my mind, I'll have to pack our Allak 2 or 3.

    TP, a small stick of antiperspirant and toothpaste are essentials for me. If I know there’s a hotel or bar on my route I might take an aftershave… you never know. 😉

    • @wildmountainman1
      @wildmountainman1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are we supposed to be hygienic out in the backcountry?
    Just kidding.
    I have a small 3ml spray that I refill with aftershave, a small lynx that can be bought from farmers & motel soap in a snaplock bag. Also I always grab a handful of small toothpaste tubes each time I visit the dentist
