Agreed. Like more eBay or getting like 10-20 booster packs each and make decks with them (my friend and I did that at a con. 6 packs each and dueling with the deck we made from what we got)
This reminds me of the days when Yugioh was the most fun for me. Everybody just had decks filled with whatever they thought the best and coolest cards they could get their hands on were.
My first Deck was a Sycnhro Structure Deck, but my second Deck was just filled with anti-Monster cards(And since it was mid-Sycnhro era there weren't many boss Monsters that could protect themselves from that). I had Penguin Soldier, D.D. Assailant, some Continous Spell that removed 1 of both players Monsters from play until it got removed from the field, a Mirror Force, a Man-Eater Bug, Old Vindictive Magician and them my 2 boss Monsters were a Dark Paladin that I only had 1 set of material for and a Leviathan Dragon that I had 3 Baby Dragon and 3 of some other level 3 Dragon and Double Summon in to get out. Then I just had really high attack Normal Summons... Yeah, that Deck was great.
Defo do this again kinda brings a nostalgic feel to it with the older cards and random deck builds to duel with... love it this is something worth watching and trying out for myself
Me and my best friend did something similar at an anime convention. There was a guy who was selling a bag of 100 Yu-Gi-Oh cards. We eat bought one and then made a deck and duel Each other. It was fun
This is how I started. Me and 4 friends in collage split 2 500 lots off of Amazon. That was the first time 3 of us ever played. Built some Jank pile of machines and rocks
I really think that this is one of the most exciting/interesting of your latest videos, I really like that documentary-esque approach towards the beginning as the decks get put together. Maybe have something like life points on the screen, or show a card on the screen as it gets played? If you guys can keep doing the eBay boxes that'd be great but I wouldn't mind seeing you guys do sealed games too! Maybe do a tournament with all Team APS members, make it a continuous series with one game per episode? In any case yes I'd definitely would be excited to see more of this type of segment.
I love the way this was filmed. I've been falling in and out for a while now, but this fun challenge has definitely caught my interest. Gotta see which of my friends would be down.
I love these kind of duels, as much like sneak peaks, its all about the fun of building a crazy deck and enjoying the game with the opponent instead of simply trying to crush them. Very wholesome and wonderful video!
I really have been wanting Trell to update the familiar possessed deck that he codenamed tricks and hoes that he played during nekroz format, that deck was so fun to play
No offense to you or the TH-camr but you're very wrong. The camera is shaking a lot. The angles are bad. It goes out of focus often. The production value is very low.
This is a very interesting and unique format for a Yu-Gi-Oh video. I love this concept! Great job as always. I appreciate you guys trying to provide such great content
I remember the days of making strategies from scratch instead of all the archetypes that exist now with their built-in play styles. I had a deck that went undefeated for 6 months and I actually just got bored of it so I made something different. Here are some of the cards that deck had: Cat of Ill Omen+Prickle Fairy+Staunch Defender+attack twice monsters like Mataza the Zapper. Prickle Fairy: 2000DEF and if a monster attacks it that monster is changed to defense mode. Cat of Ill Omen: 0ATK and DEF that makes the defense of a monster become 0. Staunch Defender: when the opponent declares an attack you target one DEF-Mode monster on your side of the field and all their monsters must attack it, including flipping face-down DEF-Mode monsters into ATK-mode. Spiritual Earth Art x3: tribute an earth monster to special summon a LV4 or lower earth monster from your grave. Sometimes I’d manage to get 2 or even all 3 on the field at the same time. Use them during the battle phase and watch your opponent’s face lol. One guy even thought it was an illegal move because I kept summoning monsters haha. I had many earths in this deck. Anteatereatingant: 2000ATK 2000DEF This monster is really unique, or at least it was then. Can’t be normal or flip summoned. It can be special summoned by sending two cards from your spell/trap card zone to the graveyard. That always threw people off. Once per turn you can destroy any spell/trap card on the field in exchange for Anteatereatingant not being able to attack that turn. In short, a legal, once per turn, MST.
would for sure watch something like this again. This is honestly the type of content the yugioh youtube culture needs right now. We all know the meta and discuss it, we all know what can come in new packs, we all deal with the same decks at tournies. This is a cool idea and would love to see more, bros.
I did this recently with a $20 limit! The trick is to know which core sets or side-sets can stand alone most competently, then to buy bulk of those sets. My locals sells bulk by the set but not everywhere does, though lots of independent vendors organize their bulk by set, so talk to them. $5.00 of INOV and RATE bulk assembles 2/3 of a Crystron deck and leaves you $15.00 of room to try and buy generic pieces for the deck-that can get you Black Rose Dragon, Trish, etc. TDIL and INOV can also complete a competent Metalfoes deck. Ritual Beast can be assembled almost entirely from THSF leftovers and you’ll have the same amount of room to spend for floodgates. TDIL through MACR with THSF and FUEN are the best sets in bulk for this, but anything CODT and after suffers from trying to halfheartedly support old mechanics while introducing links and makes for sets where lots of cards fail to synergize with each other.
As someone who hasn't played yugioh since XYZ this is actually fun to watch because i can keep up with wats going on and not get completely lost with archetypes
This was a fantastic video tons of fun, would definitely love to see a sequel with some of the other members doing this (Calvin vs Chris would be dope). Was fun to watch the whole opening and deck building process for each and of course seeing the duel play out was quite fun. I made a draft tin of a bunch of just standalone cards which we use to draft decks against one another and play. It gives us a much similar experience having to sift through otherwise unlooked at cards to figure out what we want to try and do and then face off against one another. The game is definitely a bit different when you play it like that with resource optimization being crucial and really knowing when to push little bits at a time in this less explosive style of the game. Great stuff! Can't wait to see what's next!
3:28 Calamities and a Cloudcastle nice 7:50 Burstinatrix, but why? A match would of been nice, but I really liked the deck profiles. I'd love to see this again some time. Those were some solid lots for 15$ I might need to buy one some time and it'd be a fun challenge to do myself.
If this was a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly challenge I would watch this series. It shows how adapt we've gotten with spell types but shows we can still build things out of almost anything still
Wisel is actually a great staple in many Machine Decks. It's easily searchable, high attack, can be Special Summoned on either players turn if your Monster gets blown up and can negate Spells. I'm honestly surprised that not only do people not use it, but you all seemed genuinely confused as to what it even was.
The Hype in this video is AWESOME. This video is a true and real Nostalgic Yugioh experience! Back when we used to sit around and build a deck from what we had 😩
Duel generations is the best yugioh game to date honestly. Soooooo fucking good and none of the pay to win bullshit your entry fee is all that's required babeeeee ♡
i remember when i did this with a friend we bought 2 mystery boxes with 1000 cards, that fuker got a black luster soldier and a buster blader deck, when i just got staple cards like gaia normal monster, lava golem and relinquish with no ritual card
Not sure if y’all have already done this but I recommend a video where every single card is limited to 1 (Cards that are forbidden stay forbidden). This was a style I have played with some people and it’s so much fun because even the most “broken”, meta decks become balanced when their keys cards are limited to one. It makes building a consistent deck more challenging and the games are hella fun! It takes deck building to a whole new level of thought. Please do this guys!
Monster Reborn was always limited to 1 copy...all you have to do is take the first-ever rulebook ( which is in the starter deck Kaiba/Yugi) and the cards that show up as limited are Exodia Pieces, Monster Reborn, Raigeki, Dark Hole, Pot of Greed . Then they added more like Mirror Force, Heavy Storm, Harpie's Feather Duster, Painful Choice,Call of the Haunted, Premature Burial, Imperial Order, Graceful Charity, Fiber Jar, Cyber Jar, Magic Cylinder, Mage Power etc etc
Very entertaining and creative, and affordable! Definitely takes some skilled players to find the diamonds in the rough and put them all together into something coherent enough to work. Reminds me of not only early Yugioh, but early Duel Links from not so long ago.
In this type of duels and challenges you see REAL skills and knowledge about the game, not just who has de bigger wallet to buy whatever is broken/meta. Like other people has said, THIS is Yugioh.
This is pretty similar to the cube draft me and my friends do. Drafting a deck out of packs is impossible, so with a cube, or cards my buddy put together specifically for Drafting, then we can have a fun draft, and even more fun duels, lots of cards are old school cards like the ones shown here, including some banned cards like Graceful Charity and the Dragon Rulers. So this is pretty cool to watch considering not many people are doing a cube, so this is the closest thing to that and I look forward to more of these in the future! 😁
Waaaait shouldn't you have got 4 scapeghost tokens, as the flip effect only resolves after he leaves the field? And at 12:22, how are you going battle phase after MP2?
Two unstoppable forces going head to head if all was done to avoid a stalemate, their had to be a Victor. "I can't die" vs "I can't loose". In war, survival is key, Mr. I can't die definitely killed Mr. I can't loose. Though the lot was random, the chance you gave us to dive into the brain of both combatants was awesome first off but also showed what they could do. Yo boy Rel had the right concept in his strategies to match his given title. Best of luck to the homie Alek. Maybe next one can be Paul and Alex?. Keep it up guys. Honestly, I enjoy Battle Pack 3 Format. It's exciting, you get close games and force you to think about real advantage without staples being in everyone's deck.
vincentstriqe Honestly the last time I played YuGiOh not inside of a video game it was the days of schoolyard duels. Just buying packs and building out of what I had. When I started getting back into it and playing YGO Pro I realized that things are very different now and I enjoy playing still, but some of the magic that the game had for me from those days is certainly lost
Shame they don't sell random speed duel lots. It would be an easier format to build a haphazard deck. Still Trell had the right idea and it was awesome seeing the oldest broken card actually get use! XD
You could allow a joker which means a card that wasn't part of the random cards from the start. Maybe with some restrictions like no limited cards or something like that. Or you could order more random cards to make the card pool even bigger. Maybe open some random booster packs to upgrade the deck. That could be an easier way to get some better cards than buying those random cards on eBay. Seriously who puts anything valuable in there? Probably no one. A tag duel could also be interesting
This shouldn't be a normal couple of videos this should be a series

That could be an easier way to get some better cards than buying those random cards on eBay. Seriously who puts anything valuable in there? Probably no one. A tag duel could also be interesting
