Great tutorial and production value. Will definitely be executing this innovative solution. Many thanks!
Great video
I've been seeing this in my brain for a few days after moving my camping trailer got out of hand. It will be substantially heavier duty, but the same basic idea. Thanks for bringing my brain images to life.
You wouldn’t happen to have a part list for home depot would you? I would love to do this for my popup camper.
Well done. Didn't know where you were going with the iron tee until the handle came out. You made a great idea even greater. Thanks!
Great idea, I have being looking for a video like this, I'm 79 years old and this will make it very easy to move around and I also like the full handle. Great Job! thanks
Awesome tutorial and idea. Used this on my landscape trailer. Saves me so much trouble because it sits in my back yard. Thank you sir
yahoo good job thanks for sharing , made a buncha people easier trailering
Awesome idea
Just great mod, thanks can’t wait to upgrade mine
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Just made this hot dogger (hot dog cart owner) extremely happy. 😎
I'm working on making this for my 20' pontoon boat right now. But, the boat is a little heavier. So I'm drilling the wheel axle holes on the jack to 5/8" And using a 5/8" axle. It will make rolling even easier. And more precise. I think. I'm also gonna weld up a trailer latch for my atv to move it around. I use the atv in tight spaces. Thanks for the design. I'm just beefing it up a little.
I’d like to see how easily you were able to move your boat. I need to do the same for my 17’ bowrider but thinking it might be too heavy, plus I have to move mine over packed dirt in an alley. I’ve seen 3-4 people all help push while 1 guy at the front steers on the original plastic wheel on smooth concrete. Do you think same could be done with this mod, maybe 12” wheels? 1 guy steers and pulls while 3 at the back push? My boat is 1,800 lbs with an aluminum trailer. Don’t know total but I’d guess right at 2,000. I need to do this to get boat nose in, into my back yard to service it. Thanks.
We just got an old home made boat trailer that is missing the jack wheel....I'm so doing this to it! Thanks for the video, from Locust Grove, Ga😊
I even put a set of bicycle grips on
I came looking for big wheels for a trailer jack. I left seeing away to pull my trailer with its big wheels. You made a great idea even better. I don't even have my trailer yet, but I'm excited to put this mod on it when I get it.
Thanks to you, I made this on my pig cooker! It works awesome!
This is a great idea, thanks for sharing!! I’d love to use it, but I park on a pretty steep incline and need a solid foot to secure the trailer to keep it from rolling. I guess I could have two jacks, but that is just more complicated.
2 of those little yellow wheel chocks . . . And connect them together with cheap dog chain just far enough apart to snug the tires, then a length to bolt them to the frame
Love it.. Thanks
I suck backing my trailer into my yard. It's a tight alley. I'm doing this 100%
That’s amazing I’ve never seen a set up like that I love it thank you so much for the link
That is brilliant.. I’m stealing this idea and using it on my trailer. Thumbs up
Great idea, thanks
Found it. Thanks. My next project
Will be great on my Boler camper 😊
Brilliant idea exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much. Did you get a chance to try out the 12-in wheels?
No not yet.
This is a brilliant adaptation (and much cheaper than the pre-fabricated kits). What is the length of the spacers used on the wheel axle? I see you started with PVC and went to copper fittings with those.
@@LateralThinkerer I don’t remember exactly it was a little more than an inch but it’s going to depend on what wheel you choose and also how wide the spaces on the trailer that you have that holds the wheel so everybody should be different.
Why did you go to the copper? What was wrong with the PVC? @@GwinnettLawns
@@freshboimusik313 I felt the copper would be a little more durable, and I already had some on hand. I could’ve also use some black iron pipe as well if I’ve had it.
outstanding!
Genius idea 😃☝👍
That's awesome. You should have patented it if it's not out there yet?
I need this. I have a double wheel caster and it wont turn. I have to drag it across the ground to move it
To build the modified off-road capable trailer dolly, the presenter used the following parts:
1. **10-inch long, half-inch size bolt**: Serves as the axle for the new wheel setup.
2. **Lock washer**: Used to secure the bolt and prevent it from loosening.
3. **Nut**: Fits onto the bolt to secure the wheel assembly.
4. **Four flat washers**: Placed at various points in the assembly to ensure smooth operation and distribute pressure evenly.
5. **Two pieces of half-inch PVC**: Used as spacers to ensure the wheel aligns properly and rotates freely.
6. **Two half-inch black iron pipe nipples**: Threaded on both ends, these serve as part of the handle assembly for maneuvering the dolly.
7. **Two half-inch malleable tees**: Used in the handle assembly for grip and leverage.
8. **One five-foot piece of black iron pipe**: Threaded on both ends, forms the main handle for pushing or pulling the trailer.
9. **10-inch pneumatic wheel**: Chosen for its size and air-filled design to smoothly navigate over uneven terrain and obstacles.
10. **Copper or black iron spacers**: Additional spacers for precise wheel fitting and rotation.
These materials were selected for their durability, availability, and the practicality of assembling a robust off-road trailer dolly. The emphasis was on using standard parts that can be easily sourced from home improvement stores like Home Depot or Lowe's.
Narkfam great job. What are the complete measurements? 1/2 inch by what
Great video....I'd be interested in seeing how you mounted that spare tire

@@GwinnettLawns THANKS!
I'm just worried about always having flats, my luck hasn't been great with those pneumatic wheels.
can u make a list of the parts and length need, thank you
In the video, I tell you exactly the size and the length of each piece.
It just says 1/2 inch. Like the pvc spacers. 1/2 inch by what
How much did this cost? Tires from Harbor Freight?
Thanks for thumbing it up. How about the cost? Tires from HFT?
Very nice can you do it with a Harbor freight trailer jack?
Should be able to do it.
How would I add this to a trailer jack that doesn’t have a wheel at all ?
Where did you use the pvc pieces?
Your parts list is not a list used in this video?
Sir..... how big are those spacers??
They’re about an inch but if you watch the video I tell you depending on the wheels you’ll have to play around with it a little bit and also it’s going to depend on what brand of Jack you originally got for the trailer so it’s going to vary.
Some of you are complete numbnutts..he made a step by step video which was very clear and to the point.. So quit being a bunch of pussies, asking for cock lists and go find your balls..
What was the PVC spacers the used for?
I was going to use them, but decided to use the copper spacers instead.
@@GwinnettLawns did you use copper pipe?
@@Ollywood00 yes look at the five minute mark on the video.
@@GwinnettLawns What is the length of these spacers?
Doesn’t work when you have a load on the trailer
You’re not supposed to roll around the trailer with the load on it.
@@GwinnettLawns curious how well this would work for my Meerkat Travel Trailer. It’s about 1200#. Can’t “unload” it like you do your utility trailer. Plus I have about a 4° driveway slope. Been looking at a Trailer Valet RVR3 because of the slope.
🤌👌
