U know what blew my mind when i handled the anaconda. I was gonna get a smith 629 and the way the cylinder opened and closed was like ehh. Its alright. The anaconda when i opened the cylinder and when it just fell back into battery so Buttery smooth like it was a Rolex watch. I had to have it. Its truly a masterpiece!!!!
I am just impressed you caught rain on video, still waiting for it in East Alabama. Congrats on getting the kinks worked out and good luck in the morn.
Another great video. I have a question about a different 44 Mag. Have you reviewed the Bad Boy 44 from Cimmeron? Looks like a good gun, wondering what your thoughts are.
My s&w 629 was having primer blowby at 20 grains of 2400 under a 240 grain hard cast semi wadcutter. Was using winchester once fired brass and Winchester mangum primers. To better explain it was seeing occasional pin holes at the very edge of the primers where they meet the primer pocket on the case. They weren't overly flat. Unfortunately these pin holes of gasses scored a few marks on my primer shield on the frame. I stick with 19 grains now but i know that it should handle 20 just fine. Cant help but wonder if there's something I can do with the primer pockets or just switch primers. I have never had the issue with any factory ammo.
Hey plowboy, do you have a preference between the taurus tracker 44 and the model 69 2.75". I really want to get one or the other as a .44 mag CCW option but cant find any information on concealing them. Do you have any experience in concealing them? Im used to carrying full size 1911s so weight isnt an issue, do they conceal fairly well with a good holster and cover garment? Thanks a ton! Love the videos keep em coming!
Thats an interesting bit of information. I had opportunity to work with both and wasnt a fan either. Shot also various big frame .44 Mag's (N-frames, SuperBHwk, Taurus big frame) from those I like Anaconda best. But havent got tge opportunity to borrow any .45 Colt big iron ... Want to go big bore on Richards 1860 Conversion, but before I buy I need to know how it behaves compared to high pressures mentioned above. Ploughboy would you be so kind as to describe the felt recoil and behaviour of the gun based on your experiences so I can aproximate based on my above described experiences please? :) Thanks in advance not so many of these wheelguns around here where I live in Central Europe. :)
@@plowboysghost I would agree lol! I had a couple Military Police point their weapons at me when I was around 13 years old when me and a buddy broke onto the Army football field to toss a ball around. No shots fired haha. I’m sure they had some fun. And an old farmer that used to blast his shotgun in the air at us when we’re in his corn fields. Growing up in the 80s was awesome! Through the computer screen doesn’t get the pumping the same way…
LOL... yeah I really worry about getting shot through my computer. i really like that back sight. if they make one for my 69 python I will buy it. The front sight? eh... glow plug? no thanks.. every gun I have ever seen with one it just looks like this big glowing green ball.... seems odd to have such a precise rear sight and the clown front one. but of course everyones eyes are different. I believe the glow plug ones were intended for indoor ranges... Sunlight turns em into something unusable for me. The mold you are talking about tho is one that I have. RCBS good mold but not an exact Keith.. at max pressure etc everything has to be exactly as the test load. I am willing to bet that you change that front sight after shooting a few days in the sun. Being from California I know something about shooting in the sun LOL On my rifles and carbines I actually hood the front sight.
This one is by no means the first fiber optic front sight I've put in a handgun, and it won't be the last. My eyes need that glowing ball, and my accuracy is testament to it's worth...in my hands.
I guess I do things different. IMO... guns like that? I really don't care how accurate they are standing on my hind legs at 10 yards... some days I am very accurate that way and some days not. from sandbags at 25 or so yards is far more useful to me. at that range I would want a gun like that to shoot 1-2" groups standing on a good day? If I get a four inch group on a good day I am happy. No matter where I am tho....if there is ANY chance to lean against something or sit or lie down for the shot? I am taking it. my groups standing at 10 or so yards are not really useful to me. not without something to compare them too like a sandbabag group.@@plowboysghost

Got a friend in Kentucky that has been fighting wildfires. They were getting close to his property. Last year they had a bad flood, now bad drought.
Yep. Many a wildfire here, too.
So glad you went with the Wilson Combat rear adjustable sight and your new front sight too.
Thanks
Ordered the Wilson rear/green fiber optic for my 4.25” python.should be here today.Hope it’s accurate with these new sights!
Awesome man. Glad to hear the sights are good. I had been thinking about the same sights.
They are a big improvement to me.
I am just impressed you caught rain on video, still waiting for it in East Alabama.

It didn't last long. It had all evaporated before I got everything back to the house.
Thanks 👍
Glad you got better sights and it's sorted out now. Nothing worse than having a gun that just isn't right yet. Good luck in the deer woods!
You got that right. Thanks!
Good lookin gun there partner! I just fixed the transfer bar and cylinder on my Ruger Vaquero 45 LC! Shoots like a dream now!
Good deal. Thanks 👍
Colt makes a Pretty Iron. wish I had one.
They are nice..
Best looking revolver. I like my model 29. But, that is a great looking revolver.
Thank you. I love my 4" 29, too.
Good to hear the sights worked out!
Thats great to hear. I sure hope you get yourself a dear Deer with that Anaconda
I had the green fiber optic too but I lost it under recoil. It flew off somewhere and I couldn't recover it because I didn't have it loc tighted
I just put a drop of blue on mine. Thanks.
Nice! That's a 6" Anaconda, isn't it?... Weighing over 50 ounces; a big iron. I've held one before - it's a monster!
It is the 6" Anaconda.
@@plowboysghost 💪... A very powerful .44 Magnum. 💥🦌 Happy hunting!
53 ounces! I had one of the originals, that weight helps soak up the recoil better than the Smiths as they are a good deal lighter.
Great video, I have a Wilson Combat lower for my Sig M18. They seem to make great products.
Thanks 👍
Nice smoke pole! Too bad for the money ya gotta turn around and put better sights on it. Wilson makes great stuff.
Looks like more smoke with the 24g load.
Another great video.

Good Hunting, Mr. Plowboy. Hope you get a fine buck tomorrow!
Thanks, James. I'll settle for a big freezer doe, too😁

No idea. I've never had blowby with 21-22 gr of 2400 and the 250 gr Keith's
Hey man I just got my uberti in. I was wondering if you could explain how you made your guns have that old distressed look. Mine is blued.

Good Luck 🦌Hunting In The Morning Plowboy!
Thank you, kindly.
Those look pretty good!
Thanks 👍
Looks great buddy cant wait to read the comments from the saftey nuts lol
😂👍...thanks, brother. I figure someone will wet themselves..
Is that the new or old Anaconda? I inherited my dad’s old school Python, but that is my Holy grail gun. I wouldn’t ever get rid of it!
Have you tried the S & W 460 magnum?❤❤
Like the .454 Casull, I'm not a big fan of high pressure .45's.

Are you going to get the 4.2" Anaconda?
I don't believe I will.
Now that’s a pistol, she’s a big’n! 👍🏻
Looks like some tasty whiskey too
Yep...on both counts 😁👍
It’s not the first I’ve had a loaded gun pointed at me
@@nhz5527 Heard that. Through the camera and my screen is better than being shot at in person, in my opinion.

@nhz5527 Yeah, 💯 back in the mid 80's I was with some boys up to mischief and we got shit at a couple of times... .22LR and .38 Sp
