why pin crashed the game: every segment counts as its own separate entity, but always spawns the rest of the segments, therefore making infinite pins.

Yea, Im thinking of a way to account for that tho...the only reason why I didnt yet is because sometimes you DO want the rules to apply to every segment, so it's kind of a tricky situation.
I'll just make a ban list for duplicating stuff o prevent this sort of thing on the next update (which will probably be up today or tomorrow).
I believe it is that larry jr when a single segment spawns it doesn't auto make the rest of it, but with pin if one segment spawns it auto creates a whole pin, which causes it to duplicate again

It's a very rare item room. There's also an item room with no items at all, and I believe it is as rare as this one
Edit: The no item one is rarer. It's not completely empty, as it contains one poop, a trinket, one of each pickup, a pill and 3 red flies

Where it doubles the enemies in every room but also doubles the rewards like items in the item rooms.

Here is a challenge idea though would take about 5 minutes to set up
0) All non boss enemies spawn in pairs
1) All enemy (that exist when room is started, yes you can put in that stipulation) deaths have 50% chance to increase damage by .2
2) All item pedestals spawn the fallen (you can limit it to once per room if you don't want devil rooms to be chaos, but I would leave it chaotic, but you do need to make it have the stipulation of pedestals that where in the room when entered otherwise if the fallen drops an item spawns can create an infinite greed loop)
3) All non boss enemies (that where in the room on creation and not new spawns) on chapter 3 spawn the fallen on death
4-8) All non boss enemies (that where in the room on creation and not new spawns) on chapter 4-8 spawn the fallen on death
This lets you get stupid amounts of damage but also have very hard floors from chapter 3 onwards yet still pick up items, if that is too easy you can do the same thing but add
EDIT: 9) All item pedestals spawn unbreakable blocks under them so you can't pick up the items since there is no way to despawn the pedestal but there is a way to block you from picking it up. Found that out after doing several tests trying to do this challenge.
1 month later, and this challenge is in the game.

i think what's happening at 4:50 is that every single part of pin spawns itself another time, but at its base mob id, so a pin head, but the pins heads also spawns a body for it, and the body duplicates into more and more heads infinitely, so yeah, the game might lag a bit if begilions pins spawns in one frame lol ( firstly, im not sure about what i am saying and secondly, if it"s undurstandable, because i'm french and i'm not very good at the english language )

double item rooms are an actual thing that can happen in vanilla isaac! they're very rare, just like there's also a very slim chance you get an item room with no item

Suggestion: since this is almost like the "swarms" artifact on risk of rain, what about making other runs inspired by ror artifacts, like:
Glass- every enemy deals double damage (maybe with that one book, idk) but your damage is also doubled
Honor- every enemy is elite
Spite- every enemy drops bombs when killed
Soul- every enemy spawns an attack fly when killed
And so on an so forth
And so on and so forth

Double item rooms can happen but are very rare, it’s like the item room variant of the super shop. In turn, however, there’s a rare chance for an item room with no item or a shop with 1 item available instead of 6

In Dad's Home+, I assume that the enemies would double *per room*, so you would get two flies in the first room, which would double next time they're spawned in the second, quadrupled in third, etc. So, uh, please don't. Your sanity is valuable.

I'm guessing what happened with Pin was it would span a new Pin for each segment, and then they Wylye span their segments, spawning even more Pins and causing an sensors loop, but that's just a guess.
