I have Mitsubishi AC. The blower wheel will not come off the motor shaft very easily. I do have the set screw loosened. This happened last time I was cleaning my unit.

We just installed a new mini split. I was trying to check the temperature with a thermometer and it grabbed the probe and broke a couple fins off one section of the fan. It seems like the air is still blowing good on 5/6 of the fan. Do I need to replace the fan immediately or will it be ok to run it like this for a while?

@@rhodachandler4277 it's being a while since I had to do one of those so I can't tell you a whole lot through chat over here. It might be best to hire a local HVAC Tech who has worked on those

I have cleaned my unit several times. This time I did not replace the set screw. Is there a problem if I don't use it?

@@loislaney23 you shouldn't run the unit without the set screw in place.

I have a Mitsubishi. Does the motor shaft have any sort of divot that the set screw should screw into? My set? Screw came all the way out, I carefully screwed it in but now the blower wheel seems to just have play going back and forth, it's not firmly tight against the motor shaft. Is this going to make a problem?

@@sherryberry2394 No, Mine did not. In fact I did not even put it back in the last time I cleaned it. I just got a new heat pump. Mine was 15 years old and not working very properly.

I have a 36k Gree mini split and my blower fan is a two piece design. All the videos I see show one piece wheels. I’m trying to figure out how to replace my right hand fan (closest to blower motor). Do you know how?

I don't know how because we don't work on those units. We primarily work with top line brands like Mitsubishi. And this would be one of the reasons why, it's very easy to work on them there is a lot of support and they rarely fail. Most of the end user available products are nearly impossible to service, get parts or support for. I'm saying this in a joking way but also seriously and respectfully, the best option would be to replace it with a Mitsubishi.

@@shanestoewer6138 unfortunately yes. Most dyi brands are not service friendly. It's hard to get support or manuals with details on servicing and diagnosis.
