Thanks for uploading this, I saw it when I was 10, I remember fallen to the ground laughing and bumping my head while still - laughing, that made my happy day.
I will never forget this. This happened to me about 15 years ago in Vegas They picked me when I was walking to my seat. They took me backstage and they gave me the tie and explained what I was to do in show After the show they took the tie back That was amazing being onstage and being part of the show
@fedexmagic no, there are 2 songs being used in this illusion. The first is by Harold Faltermeyer and the title is "Diggin' In" (taken from the movie "Fletch"), the second one is is by Harry Belafonte and the title is "Angelina".
And in movie Bettle Juice plus the cool drum beat Copperfield does is on tv show series episodes i love Lucy ps Ricky Ricardo does that very cool drum beat
I saw this trick live in Hershey! This is my favorite Copperfield trick, so when I saw this trick live, I was estatic! I'd love to see his show again. Maybe he'll do it again!
I saw that and many cool illusion ideas concepts and his cool illusion crew helpers they used to appear st Chrysler hall in Norfolk Virginia every year
I'm not sure exactly how he does it but I know for a fact that the tie is no ordinary tie from a random guy. I went to one of copperfield's shows a couple years ago and my father was pulled over by a stagehand before the show and was told to wear the tie and give it to David when we called for him.
I still remembering seeing this live as a kid, front row, and seeing the secret exposed. It's done exactly as you think it would be done, despite all the convincers telling you it's not done that way.
It's funny when David gave the necktie back to Jake at the end, someone else mentioned that he threw the necktie out in the audience giving it away for free, haha.
blue ninja most of the efects requires a gimnick, the idea of the singing tie was from hugo venezuela, but it requires to have it relly close of yoyr body and cover it whit a jacket, the solution of david copperfield of this is relly clever but i would like thet the tie floats. sorry by my english i am from latinoamerica :D
From 1:03-2:24, what was the point of calling that guy Jake on the stage if there was no magic involved? I wonder if it was just for a comedy thing that Jake was called on stage.
@miamimagicians magician miami I can understand that but, maybe David should have said that he needs to borrow a gentleman from the audience who is wearing a necktie only because the next magic trick involved a tie. Otherwise if nobody in the audience had a tie, then that tie magic trick would have to be cancelled where David should have brought along his own necktie to be on the safe side. At the same time, it sounds like comedy that Jake and David were doing by knocking on the glass.
I went to a show once and they dropped about 10 bouncy balls from the ceiling and people had to pass it around until the 1 minute mark. Whoever held the balls at that time would become volunteers. I can't think of a way that could possibly be staged.
It's obvious that is staged but the trick is still amazing, even if it is staged is a trick Inredibly complex and not even being staged explains how is it done. Dvavid Copperfield is a total genius.
James Randi used to say the Magic trick may take place at 8pm but the real trick happened at 7pm. First and only magic show I went to and Copperfield picks my buddy's dad for this trick.
David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty vanish, so if he wanted, he could make Chris Angel disappear. (Joking of course). David pays a fortune for each and every trick, so any master illusionist such as Chris Angel or David Copperfield would have great rapoire and respect for one another's craft.
@bcampbell4987 I saw his show in MGM last week in vegas also. If you noticed, all the acts including the gentlment was identical ! Another word, it was staged ! Remember the hot blonde with blue dress ! That was obviously stage ! I bet to you that all of them were staged.

David Copperfield is a part of my history. I am so amazed by his magic eversince I was 10 years old.
One of my favorite specials.
It really doesn't matter how it's done, if a family goes to a show like this it stays with them forever. Happy memories
David Copperfeild is the best ever when i watch him i feel all happy and it takes me back
Wow this was in the 80's and it's one of the best illusions I have ever seen!!
+Pheonixfirebird1 To tell the truth, this was en 1993 or perhaps 1994
Kam 1974 Nope it was the 1989 special "Explosive Encounter"
Naw look at that hair, clearly late 70s this
***** nope it was 1989 "explosive encounter"
80s illusionists are the best. Starting from the late 90s, magicians have become boring.

Cap!
Saw this trick in Las Vegas last week. David Copperfield was incredible. He used a tie from a man who was sitting beside us.
Absolute class.
hahaha that was awesome !!!!!!! David is the best best best.
Frickin' love Copperfield's performances.
yeah bring back old memories

shhhhhhhh

lol I went to see him with my buddy's parents and Copperfield used his Dad's tie for the trick.
Este efecto es fabuloso, me gusta mucho. Se lo vi hacer en Chile cuando estuvo acá.
amazing...
Nice catch from Jake, the owner of the tie at 5:44.
Anyone have any idea how he did this?
@fedexmagic .thank u very much. i too was searching for the song
Ultra-sophisticated, probably multi-million dollar, custom-designed ITS (invisible thread system). No demons necessary.
Always like david show!
Think it’s done with strings offstage similar to the dancing ball. But what do I know?
Love this trick
Amazing, baby
It's funny when David gave the necktie back to Jake at the end, someone else mentioned that he threw the necktie out in the audience giving it away for free, haha.
Ten gościu jest geniuszem!! ;)
woow awesome
still cant find solution how did he do that after decades
Anybody can share link to this song...
Thanks a million
2021 anyone?

Thanks for posting this, I've been searching for it for so long! Do you happen to know the name of the song in this performance?
just search the lyrics and you will know
Linda Alexander how to do that
Angelina by Harry Belafonte.
Qualitiy of the Vid just bad but the trick is timeless!!! I Love It...
blue ninja most of the efects requires a gimnick, the idea of the singing tie was from hugo venezuela, but it requires to have it relly close of yoyr body and cover it whit a jacket, the solution of david copperfield of this is relly clever but i would like thet the tie floats. sorry by my english i am from latinoamerica :D
what the song
Was this from the "Explosive Encounter" or "Niagara Falls Challenge"?
From 1:03-2:24, what was the point of calling that guy Jake on the stage if there was no magic involved? I wonder if it was just for a comedy thing that Jake was called on stage.
He was called onto the stage to borrow his tie and he was called onto stage to examine the props
@miamimagicians magician miami I can understand that but, maybe David should have said that he needs to borrow a gentleman from the audience who is wearing a necktie only because the next magic trick involved a tie. @bloomkira0009
Harry Belafonte - Angelina
Angelina by that guys tie
I went to a show once and they dropped about 10 bouncy balls from the ceiling and people had to pass it around until the 1 minute mark. Whoever held the balls at that time would become volunteers.
I can't think of a way that could possibly be staged.
You'd surprised.
Everyone should know it is all staged, but it mostly in the presentation and fun to watch.
zajebisty krawat... chcę taki ;)
Quá hay.

The spectator is not a stooge

ya vi el truco, muy ingenioso
Radio control???
I rate magicians on a scale from david blain to David Copperfeild criss angel is a -david blain
looooooooool
is it rreal ?
Criss Angel is finaly here.
Nobody noticed the sparkling curtains, to easily hide the fishing lines
Please, never ever use Chris Angel and David Copperfield in the same sentence. That is an insult for David Copperfield.
@lukassnakeman pshhhhh ... lol, find a plastic box of this size and try to break it ...
good luck
@deadmanavir like it matters

he's fake? That makes no sense. You can't be a fake magician because a magician does not say he has real magic power. You can be a fake psycic
don´t try this at home...youre not going to make it...hahhahahha
Danutza Elena hhhhh did you try
